  1. This is exactly the type of club I suspected he would end up going to! When rice is confirmed this is going to get very interesting!
  2. Yes, though i doubt we have the appetite to go into the 20k per week salary range,,, and neither should we!
  3. Yeah i guess,,, though west brom are in trouble… perhaps if scott leaves that might be a plan b option
  4. He was certainly playing further forward than james or Williams, or at least should have been if those 2 were fit! i wonder what we could get wallace or swift out of west brom for?
  5. Hes that good at ball carrying and through balls that he was named championship young player of the season.. didnt nige come out and say we want more goals from other areas of the pitch? Scott ought to have been getting at least 5 last season anyway,, and if he stays, as a creative midfielder as talented as he is, he should be getting 10 next season!
  6. Im not exactly convinced about this deal, if we are looking for goals from midfield, then spending 2 million on a lad with 3 goals last season in a strong team in league 1 doesn’t exactly meet that criteria, regardless of whether his work rate is great or not?! Obviously if he signs we wish him all the best and hopefully he comes in and tears it up!
  7. The extra million or so obviously comes in handy,, do you think if burnley was to be the club we have any power to add a sell on clause as part of the negotiations?? It would make sense that brighton did this with the roberts transfer, ie free transfer but with a clause on future sale? id be surprised if we spent anymore money on fees now unless some more money comes in,,, do you think theres still some left in the pot?
  8. I guess if he goes to burnley and we get 1 million, that will make a big impact on our ability to get someone in, compared to the 300k we get if he goes abroad.
  9. Im not convinced that these 3 signings with move us up 10 places in the league, especially if scott goes, but if he stays, and with conway and bell being another year more developed, then top half ought to be achievable,, and as per this season if its tight theres not much between 10th and 6th?
  10. Obviously what baker had was horrible and couldnt have been foreseen, but it does feel kinda similar in someways, in terms of the way they play, ages, salary level and injury history.
  11. Yes, you would have to be seriously high level player to make it in that team… on the other hand, de bruyne mahrez and gundogan arent spring chickens anymore, over the next few years they will be slowing down and moving on, so the next generation will have to be found!
  12. Yes, but you wonder now if the strain hes put on his body, and the physical way he plays has taken its toll now.
  13. Im not sure, it was all very exciting signing a wonderkid from a famous club, but he had no love for us and it was a matter of winding his contract down to wait for something better to come along.. as a kante type player his work rate might allow him to do that role, but as a box to box midfielder he clearly contributed very little in terms of goals and assists, and then scott came along who is clearly far superior. Good luck to him, but hes one of the last of the mark ashton signings who we will have to give away and almost certainly will be at another loss?
  14. Saw them at wembley about 8 years ago, im pretty sure it was “sky full of stars”when the light show properly kicked in, and its still one of the best things ive seen!! Good times!
  15. Big welcome to ross, looks like a young de bruyne to me, would be nice to see a few de bruyne type goals!
  16. I guess, though another million in the pocket never hurt anyone!
  17. Surely the second brighton offer him a new contract we would automatically have to go to tribunal to agree a fee, why wouldnt they have done that??
  18. I think the in the know guy said this was due to be announced today, but as of just now theres none of the roof is open tweets that we had yesterday?
  19. If scott stays and conway stays fit all season (he would be looking at 20 goals) we might be in and around 10th to 6th place. If scott goes i dont see any reason to think we are likely to finish 10 places higher next season? Depends who we can get in though!
  20. I dont think it really matters who spurs get in, they wont be winning anything anyway, especially if kane was to leave!
  21. Someone has gone and done the wikipedia update for mccrorie…
  22. Hopefully the prem sets them up for their new stadium, but the fact they got there with that dump is embarrassing for everyone else!!
  23. This is frustrating, theres a serious lackbof quality on these balls into the box.. at least we get scott out of there in 1 piece?!
