  1. Weve been burned so many times with signing players from europe, the ease of bedding in a player from england makes it a significantly higher chance that a transfer will be successful, and even then theres a pretty good chance that transfers wont work out. The odd ones like the danish lad at preston look good, but for every kodjia there are probably 15 who dont have much of an impact?
  2. Typical bristol city, won one, drawn one, lost one against mid table opponents, we all knew scott was going, where is the plan to replace him. As soon as conway got injured clearly there was a huge problem… did any one really expect any better?
  3. Ffp is surely no longer a problem, within reason?
  4. Yep, simon jordan was discussing this on talksport the other day.. and i think in theory all the sales made are all accounted for when the deal is announced, so in the short term they are actually in a good position?!
  5. I sadly know what that means…. If he can specialise in pro footballers, he might have a lucrative second career.
  6. Hopefully when hes fully fit naismith takes williams place, at least he can get some good passing going off his left foot.
  7. I have high hopes for him for the next year or 2, obviously when he gets good we can sell him.
  8. Good player, seems like a good guy for the younger players to be around too
  9. We all knew scott would be leaving this summer,,, for pearson to suggest now hes not happy and doesnt know what the bid was is another of his white lies,,,, he clearly knows exactly whats going on and what we have to spend!
  10. To be fair, we are as likely to win the premier league next year as spurs are, and weve won the football league trophy twice in the last 25 years where as they have won bugger all! Nice stadium though.
  11. Yes, and no doubt tinnion has his parameters laid out by the owner in terms of bringjng youth players through, and then we will sell them as soon as they are good enough and reinvest the proceeds in new signings who arent as good.. and rinse and repeat.
  12. Well if you are anticipating 90 minutes of excitement just end up with the odd dribble, it kinda is.
  13. Some things are commercially sensitive and cant be discussed,,, clearly he hasnt told the exact truth on lots of things, but its only to be expected. The only problem with that is that it makes it hard to tell when the truth is actually being told.
  14. Does anyone else consider that this already at the top of our wages budget is a smokescreen? We are hearing multiple examples of football club “statements” about swollen knees, i dont know how much the final bid is, etc etc, where clearly nige is putting out a line for the media,, and i dont have a problem with him doing that… but then we are having to take some things has gospel truth at the same time. They said months ago there are 2 transfer lists, one if scott goes and one if he doesnt, and while that may also have been a white lie, clearly that would make sense?
  15. Played in the right side forward role, raw as you would expect but quick and bright, got a whack off their big no 3 too and shook it off no problem.. the timing of the pass through to sykes showed he can play too.
  16. Congratulations to him, hopefully the first of many more appearances!
  17. Put him on block, makes the forum a better place!
  18. Me and my kids were speculating at halftime that knight lebel is a dead ringer for scott,, perhaps it was him?
  19. We are bristol city, several sides did it but they are actually run properly, if theres a way to balls it up we will find it…
  20. I think thats a no brainer now, as long as we can keep him fit!
  21. Just read the evening post article on this, they are reporting he did it in a sprint during the preston game and stayed on….. wtf has happened there?? He would have known after last season what he had done, he should have immediately been taken off to prevent any further danage!
  22. This is a disaster, however, footballers will get injured, its part of the game… i do hope though that we haven’t over cooked them over the close season, not with the games, but with the austrian training etc? ivwonder if we can get palmer-houlden back as cover? Hes scored tonight and looks to have a bit of the x factor?
