Coventry City away match thread
Simon bristol replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
We arguably had at least one go in our favour against west ham, hopefully we can hold on today! -
Hmm,, will have to wait and see, 2 weeks turns into 2 months with our lot these days
-
Agreed, at some point we need to score some goals, the ones most likely to score are conway, bell, sykes and wells, with twine as a supplier/ scorer in behind them. Im quite sure wells isnt the future, and i also appreciate that mehmeti is working hard for the team but offers practically no goal threat, but getting 3/4 of the above players on the pitch together is our best chance of scoring goals/ winning games.

FA Cup 5th Round: Man Utd at Home (if we beat Forest)
Simon bristol replied to Not Banksy's topic in Football Chat
Yes, come on seb! Love to see him with a goal or 2 -
Excellent defender at this level!
-
Yes agreed, i agree with it in the cup games to keep it tight but playing the wing backs with little goal threat limits the goal threat we pose
-
I really like him, but right back in a 4 would be his best position, with someone like sykes in front of him who can get a goal

Haydon Roberts is a happy man tonight

Agreed, joe bryan played in the premier league because hes a step up on pring going forwards, though i do appreciate that all of the defenders including pring are giving us in these cup games! -
Cant see our bosses liking that,,, someone credible, intelligent and with a very strong playing back ground being taken on in a coaching environment, will show them up for what they are.
-
Unless he went to celtic or rangers for example…
-
Yes, hes had a few really good games, but i would be looking to see if this level can be maintained until the end of the season before committing to an extension.
-
Did really well in his first game,, big lad, like pring on the otherside. Im not sure theres going to be a lot of goal threat from them, but both strong powerful runners and pretty aggressive too
-
This to me would be a very nice midfield combination,,, but we can all see what the potential problem is in terms of lack of physicality.. can they play together in the same midfield?

Scott Twine - Loan Confirmed - No option to buy
Simon bristol replied to Shauntaylor85's topic in Football Chat
Perhaps we can already see murphy as the future in that role, but want someone here and now to allow him to settle in and train with, hence the loan. Seems a bit of a stretch to me, but who knows?! -
Yes, really good footballer,, good news that hes signed on a perm!!
-
As good a pro as weve had,,, great lad.. all the best to him!

Yes, hed have to be, wells too even with the reduced extension. Lots of good lads, good pros, but we aren’t getting a lot of value on the pitch at this point from them?! -

Weimann leaving will certainly free up a chunk,, though i wouldnt have thought it would cover all of twines wages
