  1. Cant see our bosses liking that,,, someone credible, intelligent and with a very strong playing back ground being taken on in a coaching environment, will show them up for what they are.
  2. Unless he went to celtic or rangers for example…
  3. To be fair, i like that tgh will get stuck in, but if he had got a red card for that and we lost the game, he will have got lambasted on here,, it was a stupid thing to do when we had the advantage and he got away with it.
  4. Yes, hes had a few really good games, but i would be looking to see if this level can be maintained until the end of the season before committing to an extension.
  5. Did really well in his first game,, big lad, like pring on the otherside. Im not sure theres going to be a lot of goal threat from them, but both strong powerful runners and pretty aggressive too
  6. This to me would be a very nice midfield combination,,, but we can all see what the potential problem is in terms of lack of physicality.. can they play together in the same midfield?
  7. Perhaps we can already see murphy as the future in that role, but want someone here and now to allow him to settle in and train with, hence the loan. Seems a bit of a stretch to me, but who knows?!
  8. Yes, really good footballer,, good news that hes signed on a perm!!
  9. As good a pro as weve had,,, great lad.. all the best to him!
  10. Ive been checking the burnley and hull websites for the last 24 hours for news of a recall
  11. I was in the home end there,,, it was pretty poor! not as bad as watford away though!
  12. Yes, hed have to be, wells too even with the reduced extension. Lots of good lads, good pros, but we aren’t getting a lot of value on the pitch at this point from them?!
  13. Weimann leaving will certainly free up a chunk,, though i wouldnt have thought it would cover all of twines wages
  14. Transfer fees arent an exact science these days with contracts coming to an end or actually ending, but generally speaking better players cost more. Dickie and knight have looked very good for us, i like what they bring, but clearly there are better players than them available if you have got the money. 5 million for twine is a lot of money, but manning knows him, its a position we need, and hes about as good as we can reasonably get.
  15. Hes a step up from what we have, a few more players who are a step up on what weve already got ought to see us make some progression. Would iversen or travers be a step up on max? Yes,, would adam idah be a step up on cornick? Yes, and willock or chair would be a step up on mehmeti too, and they would all cost more. Its whether the owners want to pay that price.
  16. I get it re signing 2/3 players for that money, but they wouldn’t necessarily be any better than we already have. Ideally we would have another 3/4 signings of the quality of twine which then ought to have an impact on improving our league position. Bringing in cornick and mehmeti type signings because we shouldn’t go for anything better seems a false economy to me, and they will still be on decent salaries too.
  17. Not sure how the massengo to burnley fee was structured, perhaps we could waive any sell on fee for him we may have agreed?
  18. Theres others on here who know better than me, but i always considered the tgh loan was done with an option to buy for accounting purposes,,, making payments in the next accounting year may suit us in terms of when the scott money came in, or when certain salaries are likely to be off the books. either that, or they just fancy seeing how they bed in for a period of time before committing the full transfer fee?
  19. One additional player wont get us in the play offs, but we have to start somewhere with good championship players, someone has to be the first of the 3/4 we need, and it’s clearly one of the positions we need to sort as a priority… a starting midfield of twine, knight and tgh bought in with the scott fee is about as good as we could reasonably expect
  20. Really hope this is true!!! I cant think its just a loan though,,, we havent done a loan without a signing option in quite a long time now
  21. They just cant get it right, perhaps they are annoyed with themselves too? While they are sat sipping cocktails in bermuda obviously
  22. Agreed, one bang average keeper in the squad is a ridiculous position to find ourselves in as well
