I missed it yesterday! In my rush to get a run in pre Cardiff I managed to kick the kerb in my stride on Saturday. Which then poleaxed the top of my leg and strained my hamstring (I think). Tried to run Sunday and screwed. Just about managed it this morning but missed the snow which I was gutted about as it’s beautiful being out in that.

Debating whether to play football tonight. Not sure it’s the best idea!

    Ha.
I managed to over work my knee / quad during an ultra marathon last Saturday, felt it ache a bit but workable during a recovery run on Wednesday and then decide I felt stable enough to give football a pop Thursday night.

Mistake. Quite sore this morning, figured I’d test it further with a “semi long run” and parkrun.
    More mistake.

Throwing any pace into the run over strained it and sore again.

Great job I’ve got Brighton Marathon in 3 weeks. That’ll just be a car crash…. haven’t done a decent long run at any target sustained pace. Bollocks :)

  2. Rewatching some ITV and even they couldn’t keep up with the subs. At the very end with Silva went off they showed Perrone coming onto the pitch on screen but no commentary on it. The next reference was an on scene graphic showing that Perrone had replaced KDB. Who took the ball from a pass just seconds later…

Homosexual man likes pics of other men. I’m sure a lot of men on this forum have liked many pics of woman…

    Quite.
I assumed the person having a pop at him with “we can see your likes” was about him liking all the negative comments made regarding his performance and not the non-football related stuff.

He’s no worse than others I’ve seen/heard at away games

However the minutes applause confused me, on the tv it seemed he was telling people to please applaud John Motson whilst they were already doing it and they then stopped once he said that

Nothing was announced in the stadium. Everyone just started to shhhh and boo people who were still making noise as the players and ref stood in the middle.

Then when it was silent, he started the intro to it. Picture on the screens and clapping started. He stopped as clearly people clapping wasn’t in the script, got his composure and continued for more “amble”. Then said the moments applause would start and end on the referees whistle, despite applauding having been undertaken for maybe 30 seconds?
Ref gave it maybe 2 seconds then continued with the formalities and got us going.

Definitely. I hate running in the dark but sometimes it’s the only time available!

I don’t mind streets in the dark and can do a few routes etc but anything off road or trail in dark with a head torch just doesn’t appeal. If I can’t see the landscape, I don’t ever feel like I’m going anywhere and mentally I’m done.

Why did they have replays in the earlier rounds now extra time and penalties? call me cynical is it to try and get as many of the big boys into the later stages as possible as if a draw likely to win a replay before the threat of penalties

Because on average, clubs who tend to be in the later rounds tend to be in European competition and as that bloats there become much fewer midweeks available for replays?

  7. Middle of Dolman.
Certainly not a wall of noise from A block but did hear them from time to time.

It was very different to have the crowd generating and starting songs from my left and right today.

Main takeaway? Am fine for the fans to do stuff to improve the atmosphere. Just don’t be a ?head about it and think your opinion or experience is any more important than that of someone who just wants to sit in a Block A seat and watch the game.

  8. Remarkable that Pearson previously said during the summer that he was only here still because of numbers.

He still has some flaws in his game (positioning for the 2nd today seemed terrible) and can be targeted but certainly the most improved from last year and has some very good contributions to our forward play.

    EFL would probably decline registrations.

Has this happened previously for anyone yet? I mean actually putting clubs on an effective transfer embargo without notification?

  10. Apologies if that has been covered before.  Tried searching but not found it.
Sure it has but hopefully that just makes the answer easier to share :)

    Scenario proposal-

Bristol City are as they are now from a FFP perspective. Steve Lansdown is tiring of the long term project and would fancy a big time adventure before stepping aside.

Steve wakes up and decides to go BIG and just bank roll a massive summer investment, with the sensible consideration of at least buying mainly players who could have resale value rather than aging mercenaries who have no value to sell on.
Everyone is by default on a 5 year contract to spread their depreciation.

Two outcomes, promotion or staying in the championship.

If we flopped and stayed in the Championship what would be the likely FFP breach outcome?

At what point can a club gamble that any FFP punishment is not a risk?

This is what the new manager inherits if you want Nige out.  Fine if you do.

We signed players for too big a fee and for too high wages.  Until virtually all of those players are off the books or on current climate contracts we are in a mess.

Quite disingenuous to point out the squad based on pre-Pearson signings.

Have his signings improved the squad? We might not have spent big fees like we used to, but you’d argue that through Pearson’s man management and approach to playing them all have seen their market value decrease.

  12. Why do we need a U.K. distributor? Everything we ship is sent out via the store.

We just do a deal with Hummel, say we want X amount of kit. They produce it, ship it to us and we process it locally.

Cut that needless link out of the supply chain and save money. Simple.

I entered Brighton for April 2020 and was bang on track. Then covid. Deferred it when it returned in Autumn 2021 as didn’t fancy a summer training. Then couldn’t do April 2022 due to a family event postponed from March 2020.
So am - FINALLY - running it in April 2023…

Except I probably won’t because they look likely to be going into administration (supposed money out of the event company to directors hasn’t helped) … who knows if anyone will take on an event for 2023 that has had all the entrant money already received and squandered.

Han Noah has just posted some pictures on Instagram of him playing for the 21s with the caption:

    "Controlling what’s controllable.
Experiencing a new challenge on the football journey but I’ll make the most out of it. Always grateful to put on the shirt. You reds ✌?"

If that's genuine and he means it fair play.

If he's just trying to save face with the fans and leave on reasonable terms then again fair enough kids got a career to protect

Well someone, who HNM follows - also posted in French “HN7 the return ?? are you with the U17 or U19” and Han has replied with “hahaha the biggest mess in the world ??

So not sure how happy he is to be a newly placed regular in the stiffs

If we can get a sale for Scott & a loan back then take it as we need strengthening elsewhere. Agree with comments if getting high earners off books bit easier said than done

Why would someone buy him and loan him back to us? He can’t be learning a lot from our senior players apart from how to down tools when it gets tough.
