  1. Conceding twice over 360 minutes of football against two premier league sides, one of them in the top 8, is nothing to turn your nose up at. Very good display
  2. Exactly, also don’t see much of a problem changing to a back three right before they bring their arguably most dangerous players on the pitch.
  3. He scored? Didn’t think he was on the pitch but fair enough some achievement
  4. Looked like it was perfectly in the top corner, at least he’s making up a little bit for his extortionate transfer fee
  5. Good chance LM wanted to switch to a back 3 before forest made attacking subs as well.
  6. Knight functions as a second striker for us, essentially a like for like swap position wise.
  7. Conway out of the next round if we were to go through then?
  8. Need to take advantage of this pressure, would assume they’ll bring on Awonyi and Hudson-Odoi soon
  9. Elijah Morrison brace for the u18s, wonder if he’s the one that a bunch of prem clubs have been after.
  10. Brilliant first half given the circumstances, good turn around from the game on Friday. Hopefully this continues into the second half but happy to see we are going for it. Someone said we are still playing a back 5 can anyone confirm?
  11. Pretty disgraceful that’s there is 0 tv coverage on a night with only 2 games on.
  12. Tough choice but I agree, keeps our season alive to some extent. Especially with the new boys and Sykes/Atkinson returning soon. Man United at home is hard to turn down but would love to end the season with some momentum to take into next season regardless of our final day league position.
  13. Good to see OTC back on the bench though! Thought he fell quite far down the pecking order. After the summer we may see him more if we lose 2 of the three ooc players as well.
  14. No one’s saying those weren’t bad games, but they don’t cancel each other out? Yes, Pearson had some bad games. Yes, Manning has had some bad games. The difference is one of them was sacked after poor performances with an injury hit squad, the other was brought into replace him and I quote “push us up towards the top end of the table” yet they’ve had largely similar results? It’s about optics and perspective. If the club came out when Pearson was sacked and said “we are extremely gratefully for the job Nige has done over the last few seasons but we now feel that the club is ready to go in a different direction now that we are in a more stable position” then a lot less people would be angry. Instead they spouted bullshit about having a top 6 squad and at some points just lied to fans faces. I’m relatively hopeful about what Manning can do after a whole pre season and a couple of “his own” signings. That doesn’t discount the fact that at times this season has been an avoidable clusterf*ck.
  15. Cardiff away was a relatively even game in which they took their chances we didn’t. Cardiff away was also the game that Mark Sykes started at LB, an uncapped youngster started at RB, Cornick started in the 9. Was the game we only named 8 subs, two of them keepers. Our entire bench had less than 70 professional football appearances, combined. Losing a relatively even derby game away, with only 11 fit senior players (also only two fit defenders) is in no one comparable to getting comprehensively battered at home to a promotion chasing team when we’ve had arguably the best availability of players since august. Score line flattered us to an insane degree. On another day we would’ve lost 7-0 in our own backyard.
  16. Really annoyed we never got a hold Ogbene when he was ooc he’s so similar to Antoine it’s mental
  17. The QPR, Sheff W and Cardiff games at the back end of February are make and break for the season it feels! Said at the start of the season I would be happy with a top 10 finish, obviously didn’t expect nige to go but that doesn’t change my expectations/goal for the team this season. If we win those threes hopefully we can push on in the latter stages of the season and climb back into the top half. Would be nice to have a really good end run going into the summer and next season, usually doesn’t happen for us. Fair enough to Manning for admitting we weren’t good enough in every area today, no point getting overly worked up on this one. More annoyed by the Preston and millwall games personally.
  18. Don’t know how anyone with a functioning knowledge of football can call that Leeds side or performance tonight “average”.
  19. Is comically Bristol City that our only win since Boxing Day is against a team sat 6th in the prem.
