  1. Almost makes me want us to go down so we can spank the league again, those were fun times. Almost…
  2. Someone who if played right could be absolute dynamite imo. Has all the technicals to be sensational. hope he does well
  3. Just wondering, apart from his welcome interview, has this Phil Alexander chap said anything even related to the club in the media. iirc, I felt his first interview was measured and encouraging, however the radio silence since then is concerning at best. Either there is something going on behind the scenes, whatever that may be, or our board just really don’t care about the fans.
  4. This, iirc, is my 9th year as a season ticket holder and I’m already fed up of SL, can’t fathom how it feels for fans who have watched through this entire tenure.
  5. He played 60mins for u21s in the week. Was clearly fit, just unlucky turn of events
  6. Feel for Weimman, played 60mins in the week. Must be very frustrating
  7. Looked much better since the goal. Should’ve scored at least once. Loving the ball around better then the brum game
  8. Nahki wells just sits between the two centre backs. No front/back post runs. How’s are crosses meant to find out players when they stay in the hardest position to get the ball too.
  9. Very good cross inside, but poor on the defensive all around. Shouldn’t of been able to beat the press that easily.
  10. Think this is a very smart deal tbf. At the least, we’ve signed championship level cover for rb and midfield for the season for 700k. And if he turns out to be a stormer 2m would be a bargain especially at his age. Most baggies fans are either saying it’s a fair price because he doesn’t get stats on the board (typical) or are rather annoyed he’s gone for so little. Will be looking to impress as well so he’ll be raring to go me thinks. Good signing, with hopefully 1 maybe 2 more before deadline. (And contract extensions for 4/5 players)
  11. There is this french striker being pushed out of the PSG squad at the moment, only 24, might be a bit rusty with lack of game time but I think he might be decent. Should go in for him. Good back up for wells imo.
  12. Like others I can just sense the mid table season in which Pearson leaves at the end (rightfully imo). And the little gremlin up north who has been out of a job for a few months magically comes back to town. Think it’s criminal if Pearson isn’t back this window after the peanuts he’s had to work on. Looking back at the team he started his first game in charge we were really quite lucky we got him in as that team could’ve easily been relegation bound. At the end of the day, could all be talk and Nige protecting the club from “Scott money tax” in new deals but doesn’t seem that way. Think it’s something that can be talked about with more context come September. Let’s see what happens both on and off the pitch over the next month.
  13. 1 shot on target from open play in 300 minutes of football.
  14. To be fair I understand why people want Pearson out, he talks about wanting to push up to playoff spots/having improved the squad etc, yet we just don’t look good going forward. We don’t even look average. He has guided the club through turbulent times as best as anyone could have I don’t think many will deny that. And his promotion of youth talents has been outstanding. But is he the manager to make use of those assests now? I’m not so sure. Doesn’t seem to be any noticeable style of play going forward at all, with the exception of punting it long to our 5 “9 strikers? Players seems scared to take on opponents, our midfield seems disjointed from our attacking play and when the ball finally does break down the wing there is only ever 1 man in the box to receive it. Too early to call for peoples heads imo, and we might (hopefully) bring in another player with a creative outlet. But currently, feels like most teams have us figured out. Edit: Like others have said, by no means do I think we are relegation battle candidates, just seems obvious to me that this is the start of another midtable season, where we lose our two best players at the end of it and are back another 2 steps.
  15. Unfortunate for him he was bought in as semenyo left.
  16. That is the worst reffing decision I’ve seen I think. ******* misery compiler
  17. At the end of the day, the simple point is we don’t have enough on the ball quality going forward to play how we want to play.
  18. Was about to say it feels like an overreaction, but against similar quality opposition we seem to lose all skill and composure in the final third. Looked clinical and ruthless against Oxford. On the other hand, Birmingham look quality to be fair, can see them going places this season if they don’t get too many injuries.
  19. Would assume we play the front three: Mehmeti-Cornick-Bell Cornick a little more presence and holdup ability potentially through the middle? Bell on the right to try pin back Laird high and wide. Think this one is either a 5 goal thriller or a 0-0 which takes a bit of magic from one player to break the deadlock.
  20. I know it’s not on topic, but towards one of the other youth players, does anyone know what happening with duncan Idehen. iirc he signed a new contract and become a bit of a billy big bollocks, but that happened sometime ago now. Is he still in plans for the future or is he an outcast (massengo esque).
  21. When people think ‘championship’ that is the exact performance that comes to mind.
  22. Would have never won a game like that 2 years ago, there’s obvious fight, determination and grit from the whole squad. Essentially limited a playoff challenger to 1 decent chance (which was from a free kick). Bit sloppy at times, but job done. First win, First clean sheet of the season. Up Nigel Pearsons bastard reds
  23. Sometimes pringys decison making confuses me to no end
  24. Rob Dickie is a masterful signing by the way, wise decison making, good frame for a cb and decent with the ball at his feet. Normally a defender of this calibre would cost a lot more at our level imo.
  25. We do seem a tad lightweight in attack for me, to run the pacy/fast smooth attacking football that our front 3 suggests we want to play you need to be of a significant level above your opponent. Burnely, for example, showed how affective it could be last year and I have no doubt Leicester will do the same this year. Against weaker teams I think we have the ability to do that as well, but against better defensive teams, like millwall, we just look completely blunt in attack.
