Emmerdale, coronation street, Eastenders, casualty, are my worse four. Well that is normal TV anyway apparently in the UK at the moment.

Best ones for me at the moment are

    1- Mr in between.

    2- Vera.

    3- Island of BRYAN,

    4- Below Deck.

    5- Ice Viking.

Surprised there wasn't a thread already (that I could see)

Tammy going to Roma for £34m https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12377667/tammy-abraham-roma-agree-34m-deal-to-sign-chelsea-striker

Feels like great business by Chelsea as their fans don't seem to rate him at all at that top level.

Sounds like a lot of money to me, but maybe that's the going rate these days. Ings was reportedly £30m

Good move for him or not? Will it see him push to be considered again for England? He's got a better goal record than DCL for example, albeit half of that in the Championship

I just hope for him he gets regular football, we know he's a great finisher perhaps Chelsea just isn't the place for him

Bargain for them. that price is as cheap as chips . I remember LJ going to visit his family to encourage the proposed spell at BS3. Looking back now if LJ was gone earlier then we may have had potential in some more playing years at BS3 by one of the best at the moment in football

I had a conversation last week with a few Sags. I decided to test out the Gas logic theory. I said that I thought that the problem with some Rovers and City supporters (mentioned us gurt Ted's as well as I didn't want them to immediately start a fight) think that the club is bigger than it actually is. I said that realistically City should find it difficult to stay in the Championship and that Rovers are where they should be.

As soon as I mentioned Rovers level being League Two one of them mentioned that they could easily be in the Championship or pushing for the Championship because of their 'fanbase'. So I challenged the fan base theory and stated attendance facts and pointed out that they don't have a pot to piss in and that their ground is falling to bits with tents and is an eyesore and an embarrassment. Another Sag agreed with me that you can't measure the size of a club by its fanbase alone and also agreed that the Mem is a total shithole and that they don't have a pot to piss in. Fair play. However, he then ruined it all by stating that Rovers should at the very least be in League One. Totally delusional. Jaily's team of strangers are apparently a top 6 side in the division below where they should be by right. Cracking start then!

Apparently their turn out at Mansfield was impressive. The toothless wonders had come out of their care homes for a nostalgic trip down Tote-End memory lane and by all accounts there was a bit of the old traditional 1970's style behaviour. It was probably all down to Mansfield being known to have a massive Ted following. Regardless of the result on the pitch, their family club shenanigans off the pitch were something to be 'prowed' of.

They really do believe their fanbase is too big for League Two and that their away following is the envy of every club outside of the Premier League.

    Gas logic proven. Belters!

Love it and love ur post. I  remember those years from the 70,s and the Tote End with bloody clocks for the greyhounds above the roof. the only thing good about that ground was the dogs on boxing day. Great memories of Bristol in those years and how bad Rovers were then and probably worse now.

There fan base is ordinary at least but you have to give some credit to those that think Rovers have potential. Most probably this credit is coming from their psychology councilers

Let's hope he can show interest, commitmrent and a touch of talent this evening. His palce is no longer under threat from Lionel who is apparently going to earn £25m pa AFTER tax, plus bonuses. I reckon the sole reason we didnt get our man is he questioned the likelihood of the bonus!!

Wow  and I thought Messi was NP,s ace and he was about to make it public on Wednesday morning after the loss to FGR in the Carabo Cup. ?

My ex hid money in another bank account that she failed to reveal in her financial disclosure. Made a huge difference when the house was divided up though. Karma.

You always bring a smirk to my face Big Tone when I read your posts. Your quick witted humour is great. Keep up the good work and I know you are not going through some great times at the moment.

Have we actually started a game with both Wells and Martin in pre season?

    It will be 4 2 3 1.

Just because there will be 2 people in the centre circle to kick off, doesn't mean we are playing 2 up front for 90 minutes.

Well we all seam to be football experts. Looks like 4 at the back is we all agree on. Who cares realy as long as we win right

Won’t be there today as I’ve chosen to see how things go before getting back to the Gate. But enjoy the day to anyone who is going & stay safe. Hopefully getting off to a great start for what will be an interesting season. Will be emotional on quite a few fronts, first time Ashton Gate will have fans for a league game in such a long time & of course, the memory of TC. So with that in mind I’m going for a 3-0 City win, bringing back memories of that brilliant day in ‘86’. Enjoy everyone. COYR

"see how things go" what covert or if City starts winning

Absolutely buzzing for today , hopefully we can make it a day to remember with fans coming back and hopefully a great atmosphere and all importantly an opening day win for Tc !

The atmosphere will be electric. Mixed feelings, pride of being a City Supporter, the TC tributes with ex City players being apart, Fellow mates that probably most have not seen for a while together at BS3. dads with sons and daughters going to the City shop and buying shirts and scarfs, letting NP know that the club is well supported in good times and bad, probably one of the best stadiums in this league, cider and pizza sales in the sports bar at no end of profit, red and white every where, every one happy. The list goes on and on.

It will be a great day and COYRedsssssssss

He doesn’t live by ‘the rules’, and if there’s someone who’s influenced him in that way of thinking, someone who is a ‘maverick’, someone who does ‘that’ to the system, then it’s Ian Botham.

He did a presentation on a cruise ship out of Sydney in the early 90s. He is one of the most credited cricket players in the world and not a bad football player in his younger years

Well.  Here we are. The first game of the season. The first game for nearly 18 months that we’ve been allowed to go to. A game that not only marks the return of fans to AG for football but a day that will see us all pay our respects to a (breathe) hero, legend; saviour of this football club. Terry Cooper we salute you, you’ll always be a part of the story of the rebirth and journey of Bristol City. And for that we’ll be eternally grateful

It’s gonna be a brave punter to predict the outcome of this game. Surely all we can ask for is to look solid. Be committed. And give us something to cheer.

    City 2-1 Blackpool

Well I wish I was there today on this special occasion. It will be very emotional for all. I wish all you City fans attending today a fantastic day back together watching our great team.

Be safe, be happy, drink some cider and make some noise so I can hear you all in OZ.

Having just managed to get a table next month at the new Pony & Trap on North St BS3 I thought it might be good to get contributions on your favourite restaurants (local or otherwise I suppose) for future gastronomic adventures.

Having not wondered too far from the 'hood, we dined at Souk Kitchen (also North St) on Saturday evening. Absolutely top drawer tapas style eastern med/north african food. Can be a bit chaotic (in a good way) but it's small & lively and a great atmosphere in there. https://soukitchen.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Launch-Menu-.pdf

best lunch I had was when I was back in the UK 2019 in October at a home game against Blackburn rovers. The KFC across the road from BS3 was brilliant.?
