Picked mine up yesterday (which was a bit of a faff) and I have to say I am extremely pleased with it.

I love the silky smooth material. I really like the badge. I've checked it thoroughly and it is absolutely fine.

My only slight annoyance is that the O'Neills logo is stitched on which to me looks a bit amateur but that's just me being picky.

Other than that I love it.

    Fair enough..

One question tho.. Does this “silky smooth” material feel like modern day football shirt material to you?

    So true.

I remember a certain podcast claim our midfield was (Scott aside) a “collection of mediocrity”. Truly clueless.

Matty James is right up there with any midfielders we have had who play his role, his awareness, touch, pass completion rate of about 99% & the way he nearly always gives a team mate the ball exactly where they’d want it, just so good.

Imagine being that good at playing the game, he’s a gem.

One of those players that seems to have longer on the ball than anyone else.

To ensure we didn't celebrate last night's win too much.  The Matrix wants us all to be unhappy....

Best win for a while and all we will do is moan that the site was down. Sounds about right haha

Yes, if they gave us that many being as we haven't played down there for over ten years we would sell out, i'm not denying their support is good but the 2600 they took to PNE this season will be down to 1300 next season., the novelty soon wears off, interesting that a couple of years ago when they weren't doing so well in the 3rd/4th division their home crowds were down to 7000

Agreed.. first time back in the 2nd tier for years so will be interesting to see where they are in a season or two as think they should be alright this year from what I've seen.

Also think about where Plymouth is.. In recent years where Yeovil and Torquay have fallen away, they have only had Exeter City anywhere near them. Their fans must be thrilled that they have an away day that isn't crazy far away. At least from Bristol we have the 2 Welsh clubs, any Midlands clubs up the M5, and London clubs a couple hours across the M4. Plymouth is over 2 hours from Bristol before going onto anywhere else so fair play to the numbers they've taken this year so far.

That being said I grew up in Devon and can't stand Plymouth so hopefully we batter them tonight. Going 6-0, Harry Cornick to get all 6.

Are you going to return it?

    Yeah..  Emailed the club already.

I get a shirt every season. Not even to wear a lot of the time just for a collection over the years since I’ve been going. So a small part of me thought of keeping it just as a reminder of how poor the kits were at this time. Thought it would highlight it pretty well haha. But 50 quid

  6. Right.. my away shirt came today. Finally thought O'Neills got one right…

    Quality is awful…

Badge has scratches on it out of the package.

The sown on O’Neills logo is fraying and pulls in the fabric around it.

The fabric itself is like that shiny old football kit fabric.

And the main problem which made me laugh out loud. They’ve stuck the badge on at the wrong angle! ?

Anybody defending this brand. Just hold one in your hands and you’ll get it. It’s so bad there’s no way we will be with them for that long. £50 quid!!!

It has to be brand snobbery.

I think people make the mistake of thinking that O'Neills have designed the kits and then just sent them to us.

The whole design, branding or whatever is down to us. So all the criticism O'Neills is getting for those things is incredibly unwarranted.

I believe that in normal circumstances kits have a year-18 months lead time. O'Neills have produced thousands of shirts and training wear of different designs for both us and the Bears in what, 7 or 8 months? For a relatively small British/Irish firm, that is pretty incredible.

I have no doubt that their staff have been working around the clock to manufacture all these various kits and the negative criticism of O'Neills I feel is incredibly unfair on those staff.

To a point I agree... but the fit of the shirts and the fact that the collar has had about 17 variations has to come down to the manufacturer. The socks being a different colour and the poor iron transfer looking badges on the training polo tops to name a couple other things. Most have been sorted so hopefully moving forward there wont be any major issues but it doesn't exactly show O'Neills as the most professional outfit.

Despite this though brand snobbery will come into it for sure I agree.
