It the (deservedly so) meltdown on here, but the result today. I couldn’t go, little girl was born 2 days ago, but to be honest I would have been reluctant to go anyway. It was so predictable. Anyone who thought anything else would happen today are deluded.

Congratulations. Something to be grateful for 😊

Hey it’s not that bad, how long have we waited for Roberts to be fit? He has actually completed at least one pass to a team mate! Otherwise it’s just plain boring - someone tell Naki that it’s ok to stay on yer feet!

Tbf they’ve been targeting Wells so it’s not unusual he’s ending up on the floor. Ref should have given at least one free kick for him.

No risk taking, means very little emotion, we're robotic, Cardiff are Robotic until they catch us with a bad pass. The football on display is the cause behind this. We're toothless on the ball, no players willing to take a pass and turn and run towards goal meaning it's that same old robotic passing patterns.
We started off stronger but Cardiff are now comfortable with our build-up passing and we're not mixing it up making it predictable and boring to watch. Our only real chances are coming from loose deflections/ passes that we're picking up on and attacking directly. If we can't adapt when our opponents figure us out and set up accordingly then we're going to have more QPR/Wednesday-like games, more frustrated fans and thus no real atmosphere.

From the opening 40 minutes this game rides on which team gets the lucky disposes and capitalises on it.

Yep think that’s we’re getting and we’d better get used to it. Started well. Wells MOTM, but momentum has been lost over the 45 mins.

All the same players as last week, minus Tanner who must be unwell or injured. We don’t replace him in the squad as we name 7 subs (8 last weekend). Naismith was touted for a potential return… not to be today. Hopefully we find out more on that soon. So not great news to start the day, but hopefully come 14.30 we all have some great new to discuss! COYR. Into these blue ******.

    Injured:

    Tanner

    Atkinson

    Naismith

    James

    Benarous

    Twine

    Bell

Did we ever actually hear about Tanner. It just seemed to go all very quiet?

what's the situation with Adam Murphy? Was he injured when he came in?

Think that was explained by his not being up to fitness as opposed to injured.

Players in the recent past who’ve played for both teams include Diedhiou, Pack, Flint and O’Dowda. Going back Brian Clark and Peter Hooper (who also played for Bristol Rovers) represented both teams. When Hooper’s career ended in 1966 by a bout of peritonitis he moved to North Devon where he played non-league football for Barnstaple Town. After retiring from professional football, Hooper was landlord of The Three Pigeons in Bishops Tawton, where he lived, before spending 19 years as a probation assistant in Barnstaple.

Can’t see his name mentioned so….

And not forgetting Bobby Decordova Reid.

  7. People have mentioned on here about players being over coached and I’ve been one of them (don’t know it for a fact, more an impression, having seen players suddenly stop flying what they were doing naturally) this having a knock on effect to spontaneity. I think Tommy could be a case in point. He talked about improving his defensive play and maybe that’s the problem he’s not cut out to do both.
He also mentioned that when he was younger it was all about getting goals but now he knows differently, but I’m not sure that coaching that idea out of a strikers head, is necessarily a good thing.

He admitted himself that in time and when they’re all thinking the same way, things will click which is great but what about ensuring we’re playing well enough now?

His interview all felt a bit flat, when he’s normally a more positive happy kid. I actually thought he’d do at least as well as Scott when they first emerged, so it’s sad to see this lack of form.

For those of us who have experienced many previous managers who amongst them would you welcome back (theoretically)?

I go back to Fred Ford, but realistically would start with Alan Dicks, would he have deserved a second chance? My view is he and all the others bar one had run their race, and been given a good deal of time and backing to progress the club.

One manager for me stands out as deserving  a second spell, his record first time around in isolation was nothing special, the backdrop was nearly as bad as it gets, we shall never know what might have been had the Lansdowns backed him, and charged him with nominating his successor.

LM deserves a chance and he’ll get it from me, I just hope the powers that be back him in the way they should have backed NP.

Phants and others want  us to move on, sure that’s fine, I have, but only fools forget.

Yes I’d agree. And this idea of “moving on” suggests people are stuck in one place. As far as I’m concerned and from what I’ve seen I can’t see anyone else is stuck either.

It suggests you haven’t moved on if you still refer back to Nige in any way, in this case even simply wondering how he is!!

Human beings have the ability to remember and learn from mistakes. It’s not really that strange for people to look back and reflect.

As you’ve said LM will get my full support too and best wishes for success. But that in no way erases my memory about the way NP was sacked and for fans to forget the way the board treated him would, in my opinion, be foolish.

    - Wouldn’t change any of his processes or the way he works

    - Thinks he has had to adapt because of the players but didn’t say much specific.

    - Can give all the information to the players but they need to step up on pitch

Interesting summations from LM. The third one seems to be a bit of a recurring theme.

Stokes has been training with us then? Assumed he wouldn't arrive til the end of the season with Aldershot...

if you look under the Benarous thread. You’ll see Stokes training.

Absolutely but it was pretty obvious what it was going to turn into.

Well yeah because certain posters can’t help hijacking a perfectly innocent thread about a previous manager. As has been said, if you don’t like the Nige chat, there was a big enough clue in the title to steer clear.

It’s obvious though certain people are just ready and waiting to pile on.
Ah feels good to be out of the closet as a Nige lover 😂 and oddly enough whilst still being able to support LM!!

    That is positive news.

I hope we are becoming a bit more selective with away allocations. Thinking two or three clubs who have sold us short for no discernible reason this season in the League.

Did this have anything to do with the damage they caused here?
