  1. Are you really suggesting there’s been nothing to moan about? In general it hasn’t been moaning for moaning sake, but constructive justified criticism.
  2. Thanks Dave for saying what I really can’t be bothered to. Even when a thread starts off in a positive vein it always goes the same way, certain people popping up and repeating the same thing in one thread after another “ there will still be people moaning” or other variations on a theme. God it gets tiring.
  3. I care how he does, as I do for most, if not all of our ex players. Given our recent history, I wouldn’t pin any hopes of any funds coming to the club through him, being spent on future players though.
  4. Yes and I said virtually no one. I don’t imagine you’d ever get 100% satisfaction from fans and I doubt you’d find a club where that’s the case either. My point is more about, why bring it up at all as a possibility, rather than focusing on the win, people use it to be divisive and score points. It’s not as though the comment followed a negative one similar to what you’ve described.
  5. Why does someone always have to say something like that Well I’m sure that there would virtually no one, who wouldn’t be delighted/pleased/relieved . People forget it was the style of play and losses that were the problem for most fans who complained. Let’s not use two wins to batter people over the head with and actually enjoy the win that brings all fans together.
  6. Well ok I’ve not “put up” with him for 20years, but we’ve all had people in our lives who irritate us, who we can’t escape, if you can be civil to people like that, then it’s surely much easier on a forum. It’s pretty simple not to engage with people and there’s no justification for some of the responses just because you’re finding someone annoying or whatever the problem is.
  7. I get your meaning but really I doubt £5 is going to stop most posters, even if it’s opening a few accounts, after bans .
  8. Yes true. For me, albeit a City fan for years, being too busy, often unwell or unavailable on Saturdays, it’s only in the last 6yrs or so that I’ve been a ST holder. I think it’s a completely different thing watching live games, as opposed to catching stuff on the radio or the occasional televised games, so it becomes more absorbing. So engaging in discussions post match becomes more compelling. It was really the NP sacking that drew me in.
  9. Thanks @Silvio Dante Funnily enough I was actually going write, that as a lurker but more recently regular poster, it’s not really been my experience of some of the other first time posters. I think if you have an opinion it’s how you go about delivering it that matters. I don’t think it’s what your opinion is per se. I’ve seen opinions differ between posters without any need for falling out or resorting to abuse.
  10. I was literally going to say the same thing. I don’t think there’s a post from RR that someone doesn’t pop up and make some bullying scathing comments! Even perfectly measured comments from him come under attack. It’s not like he’s ever particularly controversial. Only yesterday when he was describing, on another thread, the state of the men’s toilets of old, he was referred to as having a “perverted fantasy”!!! It didn’t even make sense. It doesn’t sit well with me. Just bullying.

Whatever he is now or isn’t, I’ve never stopped marvelling at his attitude though. There were times during NP’s time here, when he wasn’t played much if at all and similarly to now, wasn’t getting full games, yet I never saw him reacting badly or not trying. He could be forgiven for being a bit negative in his attitude, yet I remember reading an article on him a few years ago and he couldn’t have spoken better about being at Bristol City and about what a great manager NP was, which really pleasantly surprised me, given what was happening to him at the time.
  12. You’ve used that word twice now, so you don’t actually know, which makes your comment entirely baseless.
  13. It seems to be a common error thinking that BT should be singled out for praise, for some of our early and notable academy signings . Gary Probert, when here, was far more involved, while as you say BT was actually Loans Manager iirr. I just think BT was much more visible.
  14. I think James Piercy summed it up well when he said the time you suddenly realise how important MJ is, is when he’s not playing.
  15. Of all your comments this is really the most disappointing. If people really wanted this or want it why was everyone so positive and upbeat about yesterday’s win.
  16. Tbh I’ve read that three times and I still have no idea what it says!

I’m pretty sure at one point he was considered one of the fittest players on the team so it was unusual to see him puffing a bit at times.
  18. Had to watch it twice to work out what happened
  19. Don’t worry whilst I don’t remember it, I know exactly what you meant, by what you said.
  20. That’s the one sinister thing about this post. Sounds much like today’s society where if someone thinks the opposite of you, shut them up name and shame and cancel them. And for what it’s worth loving the game isn’t exclusive to you.
  21. Yes but saying we were getting a hammering doesn’t necessarily equate to, we want them to lose, does it? It’s not that wide of the mark to say we’d get a hammering. Was anyone really confident we’d get a win? Must be such a minority of fans who’d want that, if they exist.
  22. Totally agree and why I’m not getting too excited over one excellent game.
  23. Thoroughly enjoyed the game. The team only proved me right that they’re perfectly capable of more. Have to agree with some others, that we have seen the team play like this before, so it will be more important for me, what we do for the next few games. One excellent game has to be followed up by others, to see a pattern. He did everything right today , even the predictable subs worked brilliantly, so full credit and I’m taking nothing away from Manning for that.
