  1. We were short of a Striker at the start of the season and nothing has changed that thinking.

    Best attacker playing left wingback.

Bell is talked up far to much beyond his abilities.

    Wienmann best days are gone.

Its the club - Management and Directors that are as much as an excuse as the players.

Conway will come good but needs some time and also always looks better with Wells in the team.

Wells is greatly under estimated what he brings to the teams but again probably needs replacing at the end of the season.

The front 3 needs a overhaul very quickly if we are to progress.

    And a midfielder and maybe a goalkeeper…

But let’s be honest most said this at the start of the season.

Why everyone at the club can see it but not those who count can’t is hard to say It could be just down to money.

But the more you look at you have to say Nige was a great manager to work with what the club would give a manager.

Manning is a complete unknown how he will adjusts to the club and this is key because not sure the club(the board) or to a point the fans will adjust to him very difficult to gauge at this point.

League one loans beckon for Conway and bell IMO. We’re too reliant on academy products that simply don’t have the experience or quality currently when needed in a league that is already extremely competitive and high in quality. They need to go away and fine tune their trade as their current inability is costing us.

    tin hat firmly on

Conway is not going out on loan that’s a none  starter as a discussion.

  3. Two games.

Boro and Southampton 3 points not a bad return.

Far to early to judge him.

Needs a chance to assess and also maybe bring in a few players.

Our squad is so thin that any manager will find it difficult to just change the style over night.

I did see more tendency for the midfielder receiving  the ball to play quicker forward and some of the pattens of play when playing out from the back we did look better.

But this is the Championship not Div 1 so the opposition have much better players and they are better coached so the impact gets harder as you go up the leagues.

We will need at least 3 or 4 new players before/if he’s coaching will have the impact needed for us to make it to the next step.

Better coaching plus better players normally equals better results and a better league position.

Lets see if the players he brings in can deliver his coaching vision.

Now it’s down to the board to back their man. If they don’t give him the funds to allow him to deliver the team he wants then not sure we can criticise him to much.

For me the sacking of Nige is more about what the board do in terms of backing the new manager more than the actual manager themselves.

Nige built a great foundation for the club to be taken on to the next level.

With a good manager and a good board we could progress but we do need both.

  4. Sykes should always start in a front three.

Mistake for me tonight playing at left w.back Could not impact the game.

Best player all season and we need him in the opposition’s penalty box.

Bell not good enough to have a stating place and Mehmeti not much better.

Wells will help when back and Conway plays better when Wells on the pitch.

Conway, Sykes and Wells together and we will look a better team.

Weren’t you the poster who started a thread on Antoine Semenyo being a bit shit and never a striker? Not exactly famous for your predictions

Check out his goal stats and then let me know if he is a Striker….

Let me know when he gets 10 goals in a season. I am still waiting…

Wide man who can get 6-8 a season Yes.

Striker who scores 10 plus - Not for me.

  6. Spurs high line defending was absolutely mental 9 vs 11

Cant work out that was all about. Questioning the manager a bit on those tactics

Liverpool Man City would have scored 10 against that defending.

Jackson scored 3 and was awful he will never score another hat trick  as long as he is in the Prem.

Chealsea look a shambles even after winning 4 - 1 away at Spurs.

Spurs wont finish top 4 let alone be in a title race

What a game. Spurs 1-0 , Spurs goal disallowed , 2 Chelsea goals disallowed . Chelsea score Pen for which Spurs Romero was sent off. He could have been sent off before for kicking out at a player. Udogie lucky he missed Sterling with 2 footed tackle , just booked.

And it's still the first half

    Update

    Johnson off injured
    Van De Ven off injured
    Maddison injured

    Spurs imploding

    Mental game.

    VR busy again tonight

    End of Spurs ‘Title’ challenge

If Son gets injured they won’t even get top 4

    No it doesn't.

I am pretty sure Nige did not write the statements.

Maybe his sentiment but embellished by his media team.

Not his statement word for word. Nige does not speak like that.

YOUR team seems significant, or maybe I’m reading too much into it.

Do we actually believe Nige is writing these messages?

OTIB comment looks like taken from another source to describe it.

Curtis at the helm etc.. caring touch…

Also punctuation is very good (not saying Nige is not competent)

It reads to me as someone writing for Nige.

  10. Can he actually be worse than all the others.

I have been watching for 40 years plus and only once have we even got close to top flight football.

Maybe he is actually what we need to make the next step.

Hopefully the L’s will be blinded by him and the loosen the purse strings and get a load of Prem loans.

He has to be successful or this could be his last job.

As much as I loved Nige the board for what ever reason were never going to back him.

Yes I know he is a massive risk and if it was not the ‘name’ he is he would not even be considered.

The media will love him if he gets a bit of success and that could be good for him and the club.

Do you want to sign for Frank Lampard or Liam Manning?

it’s a massive gamble but we have been asking the club to gamble for years - maybe they just have…

I thought with the Rowett rumours last night, we’d hear stronger rumours today, bookies reducing odds, etc.

But there’s been nothing of note.

So, although I was prepping myself for Rowett, I’m now a bit confused what might be going on.

They must have already been talking to him 2 weeks ago as when I was told he was being lined up there was no real rumours re Nige be ready to be shown the door.

Not sure why he is not fav with the bookies they don’t get it wrong to many times.

  12. Club is a joke. They better bring in someone good.

    Best manager is recent times.

Not been backed enough by the board.

    Has changed the club.

Under Nige feels like we are in every game.

Brought kids through and made fortune in transfer market.

Most of his signings have done pretty well.

    Gutted

  13. Could lose the next three as very difficult games - that would make 5 straight defeats on the trot. Would make it interesting.

Big if but very possible they than have Sheff Weds at home lose that and he would be gone.

Not sure what odds for him to be gone by end of November
