Doesn't he say in the video that the friendly "wasn't last Monday, but the Monday before"? Given that the video was filmed this week, he'd be on about a game on 22nd January then, a different one to what @Davefevs has mentioned.

Or am I due a whoosh now? 🤔

That's how I interpreted it, hence my questioning the "several weeks" by one poster.

Hope it works, but just to make the point that Tammy hadnt been discarded by a major epl club when we took him on loan.

How many do/have Chelsea discarded though.

How long was Kalas out on loans before actually being sold, he was their longest serving player wasn't he at one point with absolutely no chance of playing for them. A few years ago they had around 45 players out on loan.

Man City getting rid of youngsters with the buy back is a completely different model to Chelsea keeping hold of a huge amount of theirs.

Because other than the Man City U21s, he’s only ever made 3 appearances for a mediocre Belgian team. His last game being 48 mins several weeks ago in a friendly match. Do you honestly think he will just walk straight into our team and propel us up the league table?  What are you smoking?

In theory all are for the future aren't they? The way your initial post was worded I read it as he won't be getting in the squad at all because he only played a friendly as his last appearance. His last game was last Monday according to himself, that's certainly not several weeks ago. I also never said he would walk straight into the team and propel us up the league. Just because he hasn't played all these professional games it doesn't mean he won't make us better, it also doesn't mean he will.

Out of interest how many professional games did Tammy play for Chelsea before coming here on loan, and did he improve us in your opinion?

Just watched the interview with Dire where he suggested that his last game was a friendly match two weeks ago.  I know people are getting excited, but seems like he’s one for the future. Realistically he’s not going to come in and push us into the playoffs

Sorry but because his last game was a friendly how does that make him one for the future and not better than what we have to push us on this season?

Can you not see that there is a feeling of mistrust about the club? It's only people like you that considers it point scoring.

We've brought in a player that can play in positions that we are already very well stocked in.

    We have -

    Conway

    Wells

    Cornick

    Bell

    Mehmeti

    Sykes

    Twine

    Yeboah

    And now Mebude.

I'm excited to see this lad play. However isn't it legitimate to question why we've brought him in when we are already well stocked in the positions he plays?

So next season will we have all of them iyo?

I think it's interesting that the posters who are most annoyed at that are the ones who were expecting nothing from the game beforehand.

It's all very predictable on here. Every. Single. Time

If we get anything that was unexpected you can guarantee a few will say Coventry were poor and never showed up, and it couldn't have had anything to do with us.

They revel in their moaning game after game.

Plenty of positives out of tonights game imo, regardless of not getting the win, but the same people week in week out just cannot see anything objectively, quite baffled why some on here even watch us.

No agenda at all. I’d like him to do well, because if he does well it’ll be like playing with eleven players.

But it’s factually correct to say that in almost every single game he’s played, he’s been absolute dog shit. It gives me no pleasure at all in saying so, but we’ve got to the point where I just chuckle every time he gives the ball away.

He's had some very poor games, everyone will agree with that. He needs to somehow get coached into sorting out when to release the ball etc as he is frustrating. He may never make it at this level, but other teams were also willing to take a punt on him because he was exciting in the league below.

But you said he was the worst you have EVER seen.

That is complete bullsh1t and you know it.

I know City are frustrating in the final 3rd, but for perspective, we're ahead 7-3 for shots, 4-2 for on target, 4-0 for corners.

We're away from home against a well oiled side.

Surely Cov fans are more frustrated than we are!

Oi, we will have less of that on here. We could be looking at relegation this season if we keep playing like this......

I don't think it shows any City bias btw, but I bet for every 'pro' Rovers story you find, I could find a pro City one.

Feel free to show me multiple stories where City are/were 12+ points off the play offs and around half way through the season where we are labelled as "promotion chasing", "play off contenders", "something special" etc etc etc.

He instigates the contact, next you will be telling us, "he felt contact and had a right to go down" He should have been carded not rewarded.

The trouble is the people in power have done nothing about diving, feigning injury, being completely pathetic with no backbone to clamp down on it. Then we have ex professionals who are pundits saying exactly what you have stated "he felt contact and had the right to go down", or we hear them say quite happily that "he's done well to have won that free kick/penalty", because it is part of the game now.

When the likes of Drogba, Ronaldo (and many others) started going down like being shot, or any player rolling around clutching their face after minimal or no contact and a replay showed they instigated it, or were not even touched, then retrospective punishment should have came in and all should have been given a 3 game ban. Do it again and it doubles to 6. The likes of Fergie, Mourinho wouldn't have players doing that if that was their punishment, and the smaller clubs couldn't afford players to get banned for it. It may not have been perfect but it would have stopped it getting to where it's at now.

What's happened to all the grabbing at corners will be a penalty, swearing at the ref would be an instant card, respect campaign, walking off at nearest point for a sub, etc etc etc. The people running the game are just pathetic and will not stand up to anyone near the top of the Prem, then the double standards will come in for a lower club/player and they are happy to do what they want then when it comes to punishment.

Take whatever opinion you want, itll still look weird when you are a Premier League team yet desperate for a way to pine for Pearson back

If we ever make it to the Prem under Manning or anyone else do you honestly think people will be pining for Pearson to come back? Honestly?

I never wanted him gone at the time he went, I think he would have had us around 6-10th this season with players coming back from injury, but that's just my opinion, we will never know. The same as we will never know what a different manager would have done when Pearson came to us, plenty think we would have gone down, again we will never know. He done an excellent job with what he had inherited here imo, and now he's gone.

If anyone gets us to the Prem, whether you like it or not, Pearson deserves huge credit for that, for what he has done for this club and how he has left it. The same as he is well thought of and got some credit for when Leicester won the Prem.

For what it is worth, a few Leicester fans have been on here long before you, and have said how good he was for Leicester. If you are not a poor Saggie, then you seem very, very bitter and have some sort of personal issues with him. To sign up on here months after Pearson has gone to have some very weird rants is a bit on the bizarre side if you are indeed a Leicester fan.

When this Manning guy gets you in the playoffs, people will hark back to this whole "cost base down, profit on disposal" thing, and no one will say "Well done Manning".

Can see it coming a mile off

Fancy a bet on that statement? Of course many will give credit to Manning - and that's if we get there. But many will also realise that what Manning inherited was because of Pearson, whether or not you want to believe that is up to you. But if you think Pearson hasn't done anything good here then that is on you, just go and look at what he done with the wage bill, what players developed under him, what players got given a chance etc etc.

Amazing what Schmeichel said about Pearson at Leicester, quite surprised you know a lot more than him that what went on though.

  13. I think the same people criticising him for the goal would be even more vocal if he touched Bowen and given a pen and poss red card?. Some people need someone to blame every week, and Max gets way too much criticism imo. Yes he has his flaws, it's why he is playing in the Championship for us.

Not sure what some fans expect, some criticisms yesterday for not being on par with West Ham in the first half was ridiculous, especially the National League comments, lazy players etc.

Can't remember who said it but imagine how these same people would cope if we somehow managed to go up and come up against a better side/players pretty much every single week. Imagine those match threads....

Jesus Christ yesterday I tapped my bank card once for the barriers to open as didn’t have a London travel ticket, once in Liverpool Street, from Paddington rest of the time the barriers were up, got charged £15.50 looking at my bank, caaaaaants

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was done on purpose hoping to catch people out and get a load of free cash in.

I had a wrongful ULEZ charge a couple of years ago and the letter was worded which seemed to mean that I had to pay within x days or the charge would double and then appeal, so I paid it and then went to appeal the ULEZ charge but wasn't allowed to appeal because I had paid it.

As per the above, I have been thoroughly disappointed with Tommy this season. I don’t think the lone role suits him at all, offers very little threat and struggles up against physical CB. With just 18 months to go I would be tempted to sell this month, I don’t think we will get more than £5M to be honest, but we need a better all round striker to progress. A shame as I really hoped this would be his season but lacks that quality required.

Who is this better all round striker that is available for what we would get for Conway?

Is everything ok, as you seem to be super-sensitive about everything LM?

Any new manager/head coach is going to be inheriting the team of players assembled by his predecessor.  A lot of people believe that LM has actually inherited a solid team of honest players with a great team spirit and work ethic.

They may not be especially gifted, but they are arguably a lot better than you’d usually expect to to inherit from a sacked manager, as they were already performing ok under NP.

Of course LM has been given a solid base to work with, so are you disputing that then?  You seem to be part of a group on here who are throwing around snide comments and seem determined to create a them and us attitude and try to twist anything into a Pearson v Manning narrative.

We had enough of that shit under LJ, so how about accepting we all want to City to succeed and enjoy a ******* good win yesterday!!!

    This.

Fair play to what Manning and his team has done the last few games, I don't think anyone is knocking that (apart from one poster who wanted him out of the club last week when 2-1 down). But let's be realistic here, if Manning would have come in and inherited even a part of what Pearson did we/he would be nowhere near seeing improvements as quickly. The players seem to all have a togetherness and an attitude that gives us fans a bit of pride. The fans that want to constantly think it is simply all down to Manning then they are just being a bit disingenuous imo, and likewise the ones at the other end saying it's Pearsons team so he deserves the credit

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle and they both deserve credit for what is happening now, all this point scoring is just pathetic. We battered a Watford side on their patch and after that it's like a few schoolground kids making snide comments at every opportunity on here. If we lose to Brum on Friday with a bang average/poor performance we will no doubt have to endure all the "this is a top 6 squad mind" comments.

Regarding the penalties. I’d be interested if Fevs had the stats - our 7 home games under NP vs the 4 under LM as to how many ‘box entries’ we had.
I know it’s a term people don’t like, but I wonder if we get more penalties because we’re in and around the box more and causing more pressure.

The issue with the lack of penalties the last few years was down to some shockingly bad refereeing decisions. It's not as if we haven't had any shouts for penalties because we haven't been in the box enough. We have seen players pretty much rugby tackled to the ground and still not given. We have even had multiple apologies/letters haven't we as the decisions were that bad.
