You say that in jest but there appears to be no mention of Norwich on this!

This will be so funny if they loose to Norwich, this will be banded around for years, from the gift that keeps on giving

    Hi all,

I’m trying to purchase my West Ham tickets online. The guy that sits next to me isn’t very well so as I’m linked in with him on the ticket website I said I’d buy his ticket for him when I got mine and then if he’s better for the game then great but if not I’ll let my daughter have it.

only problem is I can only select mine and my sons seat -does anyone know if it’s even possible for me to purchase the other one?

    cheers

I had the same problem, I buy 3 season tickets and get paid back by my friends, but I could only buy mine, so had to get onto them to sort themselves

Bit disappointed we've not given you the entire away end tbh after you gave us almost 9k. OK the rules state that you should but you and the police could have opposed that on safety grounds.

Can't really see any reason to not give you our entire away stand. That stand holds over 4k.

We could possibly fit some home fans in but with tickets being so cheap it wouldn't really make economic sense as would need extra security to do that.

Sorry why would you want to give an increased allocation  they are entitled to 15% of capacity which is what we had.

Makes no sense allowing the away end to have twice as many fans cheering on their team? We have had loads of threads about how we can reduce the impact.

Really don't understand why you would want more away fans in ground to watch the game instead of city fans as bound to sell out.

Sorry want the ground hostile and bouncing not some West ham love in

True. Albeit the problem there is that if you cut wages 70-75% it makes it easier to retain on one level, and harder on others, players signed in the PL thereby potentially weakening the competitive balance.

Agree, conceptually you have to make it MANDATORY for all contracts

The issue at the moment is:

    Player A offered £100k p.w.

Little PL club wants to insert 40% relegation reduction.

    Bigger PL club doesn’t bother.

Who does the player sign for, all other things being equal?

The top teams will always get the pick of the players, it may make it a little more difficult for the bottom end to recruit, maybe less players coming in from foreign teams, so likely some re-alignment, but they will still not have problem getting players to showcase themselves in the prem.

Even if the differential was significantly reduced to a point where PL teams relegated are given a bit more room in the first 2 years on FFP, so can pay slightly higher wages out of the the money they made from the prem, without the need for PP

Would need to be enforced that all new contract contain a relegation clause, maybe players would also need to negotiate a release clause that they can be sold with a bid above x value

They have wage reductions, just not big enough.

Agreed, hence why I said bring in line, thus reducing the need for the PP, I hate being in a rigged competition where in general only 1 non PP team a team gets up

  6. The issue is protectionism, the PL clubs have an equal vote for any changes to the PL, so they have always tried to ensure if anyone falls out of the cushy little club they have a massive advantage to come straight back up, therefore protecting themselves.

PL was always about greed of the bigger clubs and 2 fingers to football in general, that's what made me laugh at the clubs kicking off over a super league, when in effect it was exactly what the PL did.

Always said only way is to introduce wage reductions into contracts to bring relegated clubs wages in line with Champ

No. Not unless, at some point, we don't flog them.

Scott had to be - all part of the masterplan that requires a Poster Boy for all other academy signings, someone you can point to and say - sign for us because... behold... look what happens to young lads when they join Bristol City.

But at some point... we have to get to the Premier League, not just them. And that involves  at some point in the future, retaining the new Geoff Merrick and Tim Ritchie and telling Arsenal, like Sir Alan did, to do one.

Don't disagree, I have always said the only way we will get to the prem is by developing our own players and growing a team. The issue will always be the more successful you are the more attention they get.

Scott was a generational talent that we were always a stepping stone, once he wanted the move that was it. But if you can build a team of good players on reasonable lengths contracts you have a chance of being able to keep them and they wanting to be apart of the journey.

We will always be a selling club, as cannot afford not to be as player profits are important, but that does not mean if finances are OK you cannot resist and build as well.

  8. The opportunity being given to young players over the last few years could turn out to be massive for us, young players are starting to city as a real pathway in to 1st team men's football and maybe on to bigger clubs, which will see us getting the cream of players instead of loosing out like we have done for years

I read it as the op digging out senior management for spouting shit rather than having a pop at Manning although he will of course be ultimately accountable rather than the mugs above.

Do you concur with the statements by Lansdown and Marshall above though ?

My point was about seeming to be quite enjoying the loss to make some cheap point, no matter if its aimed against Lansdown Marshall or Manning

No I don't agree with the comments, as like anyone with any common sense would see that is a smokescreen for the real reasons behind the sacking, of which no one on here will know

  10. One thing that Millwall did that frustrates the hell out of me that we don't, is when defending a corner they left a player up. I know it seems to be the modern way of everyone back in the box and sure manager must have statics of it being better, but when we clear our lines the opposition just pick up cheap ball unopposed and recycle it, when Millwall left one up we were forced to leave two back and had to fight for the ball when cleared, perhaps someone can explain the logic behind everyone back.
