In the 80's the majority of teams played 442. I remember TC signing two quality players in the lower leagues that did nothing for us, Jimmy Harvey and Tony Caldwell. I guess what I'm saying is you don't always get it right when recruiting. Hopefully a good pre season will do Cornick well.

I had a Xmas bet years ago having a Xmas £100 bonus from work. Cardiff were playing Stockport on a Friday night. Cardiff were on a bad run so were 11/10. Stupidly I put in a 5 match accumulator with them in it for another £100. I remember that I had us to draw with Luton and Liverpool v Everton to draw the last match to win the bet, this was on a Sunday. I must of kicked and headed everything in that game. I ended up winning £7800. A few days before Christmas, brilliant. I bet a tenner on 4 draws one Sunday and won a grand. I've had the odd couple of grand and 500 quid but don't really do it anymore.

Joe Bryan - Signed for Millwall

I would sign him in a heartbeat. He would now be a older head in the squad. And what a great example to the kids he would be. -
I listen every week and it really is a great listen but who sings that song/intro. It's really bugging me. I was thinking of buying my ex wife a copy. ???

He was a class player, I think we signed him when he was 31 so coming into the twilight of his career. If I recall he was injured for quite a while 20 games? Denis Smith signed him for Sunderland where he became a icon playing into his late 30's. Smith had previously had him at York. It's a sad thing to say nowadays with brain injuries to former players but he could head a ball further than many centre halves could kick it. He didn't play many games for us but has always left a lasting impression on me of what could of been if he stayed here a little longer. Good luck John and I'm happy to donate if there's a link.

Listening to Gary Owers with that music in the background takes me back to Ritz's in the 90's! -

'If you need any advice on how to build a Premier league winning team on a budget give me a call." Because you won't have any money soon, you cheating barstewards!

Didn't we have a a thin pin stripe shirt in the mid-late 80's for about 5 games and then it was changed. I'm thinking 87-88?

What's odds on them both scoring a penalty? -
That brings back memories, my late grandad and I were crying it was so funny.

What's the odds of a City v Luton final? They would be mad as hatters if one of their former players scored the winner against them.???
-
I can see him driving around in a TR7 next season with his own fan club.

11/2 to score a penalty, could we, would we?

That's a great read, I don't know if it's true but I heard from my late grandad that Alec suggested Bert Trautmann but City turned him down.

And knowing our luck it will be Gordon Owen's grandson taking them!

What a absolute muppet, the bloke deserves a ban for bullying children and a good hiding. You would think a bloke in his 60's would be used to seeing bad performances and goals scored against us. What a despicable human being.
