    Really!?!

I've been going down AG 48 years Brian. That trumps your 30 years...

He sounds like a real sniveller

    Rotherham are done.

Sheffield Wednesday's resurgence is impressive and I hope they make it.

Of the rest, I'd like Stoke and Birmingham to go down.

    Like this:

    ----

    Birmingham

    Stoke

    Rotherham

Would be nice great weekend in sheffield.

George Tanner is a better right back than Ross McCrorie.

Matty James is a more calming influence in midfield than Williams or TGH

Agree on Tanner not convinced with the jock .

I was only thinking last night , if you could only watch the performance of one current player every week , only one , who would you go with

For me , and has been for some time,  it’s Foden

Very rarely has the phrase ‘The Beautiful game’ been so more apt

Love watching foden not many wide players like him can cut in and unleash a bullet like he does.

I fear we could be on the receiving end of a right shellacking on Tuesday unless Max puts in a top drawer shift. Hope I'm wrong but we are trying to get off the floor with legs wobbling all over the shop at present.

A 0-0 with Max putting in a 9+/10 is the best we can do I reckon.

Best player on the pitch for us yesterday the rest were crap

In proper Owls pub on Saturday talking ex-Sheff Wed connections and there are a few. Danny Wilson and Pearson both ex Wed players and i thought Pemberton was the 3rd ex City manager ..but got it wrong as he was a Blade! Apparently DW and NP played for years in the same team

Any more connections to both clubs?

    Backinson and jack Hunt .

Does anyone really want to watch any more of this for another season?

We should just do a Sunderland and hold our hands up and say we ****** up, there's a crumb of dignity in that.

If we double down on this to try and save face by giving manning a load of coin ... well that movie won't end well.

    Manning didn't deserve this job.

But is snake signing them or manning ?

I like the fact Knight seems to have added some goals.

Albeit as for the squad as a whole, the negatives largely outweigh the positives to date.

Hes the one bright spark wouldnt be surprised to see someone come in forhim in the summer.

    We've got coming up:

    - Cardiff (h)

    - Ipswich (a)

    - Swansea (h)

    - West Brom (a)

    - Leicester (a)

Two games at home against Welsh rivals and 3 away games against teams in the Top 6. Doesn't look good does it?

I've been careful not to knock LM too much but the ridiculous selection of clearly unfit Pring, really weird gameplan that didn't work at all and wasn't changed, and the weak interviews full of sly digs at the players feels like we're back in the LJ era. I could forgive him if it felt like there was something nestled away in there that looked like a tactical plan that just isn't clicking as yet, waiting to bloom into magnificent fruition, but that shit served up today was his fault, the wingbacks didn't work, and he didn't change it. When do we get to the point where we start to wonder if he's the boy for the job? **** knows I don't want to sit through that again.

Isnt the leicester game at home good friday ?

Jon Lansdown needs to **** off back to his yacht after he has fired Tinnion and announced a chairman that has a clue and who is not saddled with top six squad comment!

effing Manning on the radio saying he needs players that want to learn! My lord!

Weve had years of learners we need winners.

I think where I'm at with this is that we're in danger of the good culture that was in place of eroding. Signs of that already. Players have lost confidence. We know those two things are really difficult to change.

I personally think that continuing to back a horse with 3 legs is quite ridiculous.

Rather than having some blind faith that it might work out we should probably look to take the bull by the horns and be pro active.

IF a change was made now it would give a new man time to evaluate the squad etc.

I'm not sure I'm comfortable with Manning deciding the futures of players like James etc.

Worrying thing is whod want to come here with tinnion calling the shots and a pound shop budget .

First things first - we can all agree that was awful and only Max comes out with real credit today.

    But…the subs.

I think on the triple sub the players coming off were broadly the right ones. But the ones who came on, with the exception of TGH, were odd.

Mehmeti had to be hooked. It was said in the game thread how poor his positioning was. But when you have Sykes on the bench who can easily come on and knows how to play at this level, it’s the obvious sub - most of us would have him in the starting line up when everyone’s available. Dire was dire, but when you’re playing against seasoned championship players putting a guy with 70 minutes experience in senior football was an insane risk.

(On Dire after today I’m really interested to see the reason why Westerlo were ok to let him go. The work permit story makes no sense when looked into)

Knight again being subbed I was ok with. But it should have been Twine. We played Tommy deeper than Wells and against a side sitting in you needed the press less and someone who could create. It was a case of not reacting that we needed something different in the situation.

I would have also gone Tommy for Wells, but the base is the subs were wrong either in personnel or way they were executed. And we didn’t solely lose due to that - it was an awful performance overall - but the game management there certainly didn’t help.

Crap subs i agree made no difference to the game but can only think twine and sykes were not properley fit when Bell went off natural choice, would be twine or sykes not cornetto

Sounds like you're having a bad day.

What was wrong in my post ?
99 times out of a hundred shirt pulls or stopping breaks illegally are bookings. He pulled them up about 4 times and never gave one Yellow.
He waved play on twice, one lasted a second or two. He didn't even speak to anyone let alone book them . It looked like he didn't know who committed one of the fouls as he pointed and seemed to chat on his Mic , then shrug .
How he never gave a freekick against us for that late challenge I don't know, and when fans burst out laughing you know something is wrong.
All of that is factual , it happened. Only the Ref knows what he was thinking .
I didn't criticise the Vyner one because from the Lansdown I didn't see it, even then he might have thought Vyner made contact as the player went down .

I am biased , at the time I will probably call for loads that are wrong, but going back and watching the game again I still don't understand what he was up to a lot of the time.

Anyway , hope your day gets better.

Thats what comes from watching it on the telly 😄

It wasn't fouls as in poor challenges that got me, but the "professional" fouls. Shirt pulling and stopping a break without challenging for the ball is always a card, they got away with 4 . Then add the 2 dodgy "tackles" that he waved play on but looked confused to who committed them when play stopped.
If you want another, late on I think it was McCrorie cleaned their player out with the ball gone, we just burst out laughing when he waved play on. Definite foul and possible booking, by that time I think he'd given up :blush2:
His performance went from OK to clueless through the game.

Spot on hope portland bill reads, this .
