On a personal basis, I steadfastly refused to clap Russell Osman. Disliked him then and time is no barrier.

Mark Shail appears to have aged better than anyone else.

Interesting that they came out in positional order after the coaching team other than one man.

But I’m sure there were more players mooted - Scott and Edwards I’m sure were on the guest list originally?

And, where the hell were Junior Bent and Liam Robinson??

Snap no time for osman he got rid of jackie .

    Gone backwards under Manning.

Wasnt perfect under Pearson by no stretch of the imagination. But NP knew how to utilise the squad.

Manning so far, appears to not know how to. Which is why I’m still not convinced by his appointment.

Your right same shit different coach .

Like I said, there's a situation vacant for a scapegoat with Weimann leaving, so that first goal was brilliantly timed. Tanner and Vyner being involved only adds to the fun.

Yeh vyner was also poor today switched off twice .

A tricky tie against a dirty team that have had some right refereeing howlers go their way over the years, a draw would be a decent result. They looked good against us earlier in the season and probably should have won.

Yes mate dirty Bastards like to leave a foot in.

Just a thread to give credit to the staff and everyone responsible for running the Heineken hospitality lounge.

We had a group of 10 of us in there, some of them for the first time, last night. From our arrival the welcome was warm and genuine. The food, a buffet style beef curry or chicken and chips followed by Christmas pudding, was really good.

Paul Cheesley is the host, he had a chat with Rob Newman and Kai Naismith. Then a few of our old legends including Tom Ritchie, Geoff Merrick and Trevor Tainton mingled with fans for a chat and selfies.

Good seats for the game right outside of the balcony. Back inside for a pie at half time and then obviously the result made the night complete.

Price last night was £81 including a 10% season ticket discount.

If you have a group of friends or family, or even a couple of you on a shared table, planning a bit of a treat, I would highly recommend it.

    Well done all.

Sid done the sheff weds game with are mart and Red  its a great afternoon  with top quality food and booze  well worth the money .

I know McRorie came in as a rb and Tanner is coming under a lot of scrutiny. However, I’d be real tempted to try McRorie in midfield with Hickman and Knight.

We talk about Wells cameo and how he got us up the pitch. I also thought we were much better because Williams come on for James. It isn’t in possession that worries me. However out of possession and breaking up attacks I thought James really hurt us last night.

James and TGH are also way too similar to me. Neither is willing to really make runs into the area or down a channel. I know this isn’t a big role for CMs but you look at our crosses last night and many only have Conway to find. Knight was often out wide helping create the overload which is fine.

I am not convinced going 352 will make us better. We now have 20 minutes of Wells in the new BCFC and it led to two goals, granted we were chasing those goals but it looked good. Especially with Sykes form and Mehmeti possibly turning the corner. Also, really enjoyed Bell’s cameo. We still need a couple of players for that front 3. We need to find that bit of magic like Sunderland have with Roberts and Clarke. Like Hull have with Delap and Philogene when fit.

So yea, both their returns give us options and depth and versatility. Looking forward to it. Them coming back plus an early January signing could see us maintain this top 10 form.

I agree  think james is ok to come on if we need to sure the game up  but hopefully mcCrorrie  is the answer .

    Hi all

I am hoping anyone attending tonights match can help us..

Myself and a good mate both lost our fathers earlier this week. Both men were massive City fans, and introduced us to our beloved club.

I would really appreciate it if you could join in with a minutes applause in the 80th minute for them both please..

In memory of Cedric Bruford, from Williton, and Arthur Hopegood, from Bristol

    Thanks all

ps - I’ll be the emotional wreck in S25, Row 13..

Hull manager Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside:

"I'm not being disrespectful to Bristol City but at the moment they scored the second goal we shouldn't concede, we were in complete control of the game.

"I thought we showed again a really good resilience and character to come back. They get a penalty, we respond really well and get two goals and in that moment, and in the second half especially, we felt we controlled the game in our shape and with the ball.

"But for two really really poor moments we end up losing the game.

No mention of a penalty for his side tthat was a complete joke.

Awwww Liam , Bristol born and bred,  but he always manages to have a little dig doesn't he?

3 points mate, we'll take the 3 points.

Yes Hull fans singing we saw you crying on wembley way well tonight they were crying at Ashton Gate .😄

I've given up on that. When Wells is fit to start we might see him in a two with Conway, but it doesn't look on for a Cornick + 1 pairing. File that under 'we'll never know'.

Hed look better in dancing on ice a trier but thats all.

Im not actually convinced Lansdown is looking to sell anymore. Maybe he told his son he was too young to lie on the beach in Bermuda and actually go earn his inheritance.

Thats the only reason I can think of for destabilising the club mid season as id suggest we are possibly of less value now than say 6 weeks or so ago. If that doesnt bother senior then his talented issue may be around for the long haul.

Hes certainly made it harder to sell now sliding down the table and trying to sell all that crap that goes with the football.

I remember, unusually for me, being in up the Williams Stand when about 30 fans at the back of the middle of enclosure turned round as one to wave their fists, flash V-signs and swear up at the Directors Box.  'W*nkers, Sack the board, **** off' etc., and so it went on for several minutes.

They'd obviously agreed to meet up in that part of the ground to vent their spleen at the board.

From my viewpoint I could see the fans' contorted faces and how furious they were, and no doubt at all their message got across to those in the Director's Box.

Not sure exactly when this was now - probably early 80's - and it wouldn't happen these days, those fans would be on CCTV and quite likely confronted by stewards and possibly even banned, but it used to happen, be in no doubt about that.

Ashton Gate used to be fiercely passionate - it's still passionate to a degree, but nothing like the old days and fans are well aware they can't actually effect things anymore.

I agree can remember when the old williams stand was in place you had 150 fans yelling and angry outside old players entrance shouting up at the Directors bar upstairs today we just put up with it oh yeh i was one of em .

You’re not making an unreasonable point, but better made once the anger has died down.

No amount of protesting will bring NP back, and I suspect he would not want to.

I think that LM is out of his depth and needs some support either from the fan base or a trusted contact. Maybe he’ll learn from the adversity and be a better manager in the long term.

he does sound a bit broken tonight.

The way were going he might need colin in for some advice how to keep teams up .

Both the club and local radio interviewers are garbage.

Is Mark Sykes carrying a knock? Are you having to manage his minutes?

What were your thoughts when bringing Knight off?

TGH has picked up the clubs player of the month award, what led you to start Williams over him this evening?

How do you feel you can get the best out of TC in this system?

    Spot on .

In what is going to be quite a depressing place for the next few days I thought I’d get a positive in.

What a player. Was everywhere tonight showing composure and his ball into the box at the end was exquisite.

I thought Vyner was decent next to him too.

My opinion vyner got done for their goal and got lucky when Smzodics burst passed him before.
