  1. What do we do on Wednesday, when Pring and Conway are sold .....
  2. All this dominance is good and all that, and we look dangerous, but it counts for nothing unless we score! 26 minutes of all us, but nothing to show for it.
  3. Was based on Appearances which he would have easily triggered.
  4. He told the club last Xmas he wanted to go. He was asked to stay until the end of the season and the club would sell him in the summer. He agreed to this. Don't want to say too much, but someone I know works at Bournemouth and they were ready to buy last January but when they were informed Scott had agreed to see out the season, they then agreed a deal for Semenyo.
  5. We had an extra year option on his contract, so we could have triggered an extra year in his final year, so effectively we could have had him until 2026.
  6. No I said, if he doesn't make his intentions clear. I,e, sign a contract or formally request a transfer.
  7. I think everyone agrees with this, and everyone would do the same. However, don't masquerade that this means everything to you, you're a huge fan etc, if your sole interest is yourself. He could easily sign a one year extension on an increased wage, with agreed wage increase after x amount of goals, international appearances, and an agreement in place, that we will allow him to talk to another club, if a valuation is met. None of these are going to hinder his career or prevent him moving on. I'm pretty sure, as a key player at the club, his contract offer reflects that, so regardless of how he performs, we are probably not in any position to show him the money. Protecting his value is the right thing to do. He's our player for the next 18 months, and if he wants to use that to barter a "show me the money" deal or to maximise interest by seeing out his contract to leave for compensation, then it's actually us who holds the bargaining chips, as we can ask him to signal his intentions, and if there is no intention to commit to a new deal, you make it clear to him, he will be sold in the summer to the highest bidder, and his game time will be reflected as a player who is not considered part of the future of the club. This could end up turning into another Massengo. At least Scott signed an extension to 2026, whilst making his intentions clear.
  8. I'm not saying it's just words etc, but if he really held true fan qualities, he would sign a new deal which protects the club he so say loves. A release clause could be added or gentleman's agreement, so if the right offer comes he can leave, but at present he is out of contract at the end of next season, and in the summer, the world and it's wife will know he is in his final year, so offers will not be as lucrative, as he would move a year later for compensation. So if his feelings are true and it's not just words, he could repay that belief and faith shown in him, by signing a deal that benefits all parties.
  9. My anti Pearson agenda stretching back years ???? The first I wasn't happy with him in charge was Xmas 2022 and we were playing awful. After the Boxing Day defeat to West Brom, I do think he should have been sacked. That's not an anti Pearson agenda stretching back years ...... He got 11 months longer in a job he was failing at. Yes he did turn it around somewhat, and I wasn't calling for his head when he was sacked. If you read some posts in the weeks prior to his dismissal, I actually said, I didn't think we should be renewing his deal, but see where we were end of the season, but at most a one year extension as he hadn't warranted a longer deal in what we had achieved. That's not a anti Pearson agenda! He never won me over, I don't think we achieved much, and I wasn't upset when he went. I own opinion is, we would have never achieved success under him. I genuinely think had he not gone to the media, the club would have let him see out his contract this year, but wouldn't have renewed it. Also, what makes Jon's comments about us should be doing better "completely unqualified" as you put it.
  10. Pearson made his own bed. He publicly fuelled a fire with powers that be, by going to the media about his contract and position, with a sort of back me or sack me stance. The board didn't like that one little bit and sacked him. Had he said nothing, carried on about his job, he wouldn't have been fired. He may not have had his contract renewed in the summer, but he played his hand early and knew what he was doing. One could say, he forced their hand on purpose.
  11. But that's because you're pro Pearson, so it wouldn't suit agenda! People talk about the board being delusional about the squad being Top 6, yet this is the squad that NP had assembled, the same squad that NP said in the summer was good enough to be competitive and he was happy with. That was after Scott was sold, before people say we sold our best player. So, if the squad is not top 6, if it's not capable of being competitive, then NP was just as delusional as the board, and in his 3 seasons here, it's questionable if the squad progressed or regressed as a whole. The one thing that was clear, was the board was not happy with the direction on the pitch and were unwilling to invest further in NP. They had been told this was a capable squad. Regardless of whether they are performing as well as they can, or not, Manning has been brought in to try and perform with average tools. He is trying to change the way certain players play. He will quickly learn, who can adapt and who needs replacing. It's not about who gets the most PPG from this group of players, as the PPG with Nige was still not good enough. What Manning is doing, is evaluating, who is good enough to work within his training and coaching platform and help us improve and the weak areas that need improving. We don't need wide scale recruitment, but to fine tune weaker areas. People who praise Pearson, say the squad is a mid table squad, but this is the squad NP assembled over the best part of three years. Yes, budgets were cut, but these are players HE brought in, that he believed could help us get competitive. He said as much himself in the summer after Scott went. He came to us, working with a disjointed side, who had quality in areas, but bad attitudes, but a safe mid table team, and after many ins and outs, he left us still with a mid table side, which had quality in areas, and the only thing that changed was bad attitudes were replaced with hard workers who aren't good enough. Manning should not be judged on what he does with Pearson's team, as we all know it's not good enough. He needs to be judged in 2 years when he has put his own twist and turns on the team and has a team playing his football. For me, their has been glimpses of promise, but also levels of inconsistency which have become all too common with Bristol City. WE can go one week looking capable of beating anyone, to looking like a team who wouldn't win in the Downs League the next. No team performs week in, week out (Look at Leicester for instance, battered by Coventry yesterday), but I swear we are way more inconsistent than any other team in this league. People can say that Manning isn't getting the best from this team, or getting the results, but he is still getting to know the players he has, Pearson wasn't getting much better and he knew his team inside out! Realistically, this season is a write off. We're not good enough to compete and we won't go down, but if anything, it feels like we've been in this groundhog day for an eternity now.
  12. Is it a loan, West Brom seem to think he's signed a deal for 18 months for them?
  13. TBH, I don't get why we would loan a decent squad player to a rival in the same division. I hope we have a caveat that he can't play against us.
  14. Very sad news. Watching those highlights, obviously Owen was brilliant that day, but I never realised just how influential Heskey was in pretty much all our goals that night, he was everywhere.
  15. Oh that's disappointing. Definitely not a gig for me then. Expect Stormzy or Pete Tong to top the bill then, possibly Flo-Rida
  16. Headline acts are always announced last, so the fact the DJ sort of acts have been announced first doesn't surprise me. They are often used for Crowd Builders. Craig David still sells out Racecourses, so to have Craig David and Neyo at the bottom of the bill bodes well. It'll be like Party In The Park. Got a feeling Busted may be on the bill and Blossoms
  17. Was hoping would be on the 17th, as hospital on the 16th
  18. Has to be a given, that it will be one of the TV games for the replay surely?
  19. Thank you. I'm on loads of Steroids and painkillers and I've put on so much weight without eating! I think I must be immune to Prednisolone and Budesonide, I've had that much of it in the last 9 years! I'm aware of Humira, but I'm needle phobic, so that's a no for a start. I have to take Propranolol to stop me absolutely freaking out, every time I'm in hospital. I had a temporary stoma in 2016, and it was reversed, but it's looking like I'm going to be having a bag for life soon, and not one that costs 30p at Tesco!
  20. Good Luck everyone going, and better luck getting there. I was meant to be in hospitality today, but a rapidly declining Crohn's issue for me, resulting in an operation in 2 weeks, has led to me, being in a lot of pain, and not able to travel very far at present. So hoping to find a stream to watch online.
  21. WE paid about 500K for him from Colchester, he limited starts and went on loan and was sold for 1m, despite barely kicking a ball for us. We made money on SS, there's no doubting he came good at Peterborough and was great in league one for them and carrier it forward and then joined Blackburn. I don't know if we got a sell on or not? But given how good in the market Peterborough usually are, they paid 1m for a player they recouped 1.5m for, despite him being more proven for them, than he was for us, we both made 500K out the player. If anyone made a mistake, it was Peterborough selling him so cheaply, especially with still 2 years on his contract.
  22. I would imagine it will be a bit like Party In The Park, in that there will be a couple of local artists, a few 70s/80s performers, a couple of young up and coming artists and then a couple of well known headliners. Blossoms are doing a number of festivals next year, including Isle Of Wight, wouldn't be surprised if they are on the bill.
