  1. The Sala fee was included in their transfer outgoings in the accounts. Im not suggesting they are in a great place , their debts are huge and they revalued the ground a couple of years ago to help .... But compared to most promoted teams they have got out lightly, unlike the last time they were promoted. They all only have tv income really, transfers have died off and the 8M gate revenue is zero. The accounts for this current season will show huge losses of 20 to 30 M for the majority of clubs.
  2. The Cardiff year of £2m profit includes the Sala fee from my brief reading of the accounts. Of course getting ti taken off will improve their FFP situation now. Seems to be that they really did keep wages low when going up and have balanced incoming and outging transfers since. Whilst like all it is cash poor right now, I do not see that they are in any meltdown with huge player contracts. Our wage bill is probably higher this year,
  3. Point gained, still with a chance of top 6 with 7 games to go. Anything possible.
  4. The core of our side ( and it is pleasing to say) is our L1 side. When people talk of players being signed by other clubs, it is those players who get mentioned. LJ tried to rip it apart last year and got in mess. He learnt his lesson and got them playing together , with great spirit in a new way and results have been great. Forget the last few games, people got ahead of themselves and started thinking " we are a Prem club in waiting" That was ridiculous , we had just had two years of relegation battles, and a coach learning his way in the game. Top ten this year will be a great result, and a great platform to progress next season. Today and the Sunderland game tells you we are far from ready for promotion. You learn to take the points, we saw that clearly in our last promotion, we saw Newcastle do it last year. We have not got that skill yet, but it will come. Finally Kent, a quicker fitter Tomlin. Some awful selfish play and no end result. Our transfer ability is really still nowhere near up to the mark, the list from last January to the last window leaves a lot to be desired. You never get them all right, no matter what club you are at, but our list of players unable to trouble the first team is far far too long. The success level needs to increase. I cannot be bothered to write it out, but the list of players signed under LJ is quite extraordinary , then add in the loan players. LJ needs better material.
  5. That was very poor and in the context of the current performances a little bit of a worry. We needed to get back on track. Still we not in a relegation battle so it is progress .
  6. Playing deep, inviting pressure. Probably tired after all the pressing... Wright lost his man there badly .
  7. Success for myself was avoiding relegation, and a mid table finish. We are certainly on for that, the rest is a bonus. If we were serious about promotion, you have to buy players who can add something instantly,. That is not our policy, as we have failed by doing that in the past and we cannot afford to buy the quality that Wolves have for example, so we have a slow build. We have been hugely hampered with out a right back or main centre forward for months, and maybe more months to come. We miss terribly a Kodja /Tammy level forward as any team in this league would. We have adapted and tried to make the most of what we have, and damn well they have done. Next season, if we can build on this , and fill a couple more gaps, we will be a stronger top 6 competitor. But for now, with the lack of budget and injury list we have, anything top 10 is hitting above our weight. Last season the club was a shambles from top to bottom, all have sorted their act and made notable and pleasing progress. We might make the playoffs if a few players come back from injury and the new players get fit and up to speed fast, if we manage that, it will have been an exceptional season.
  8. Very laboured performance so far, playing very deep with no support for Reid, quality missing in the crossing and passing.. Norwich well organised , and passing well. We really do need Fam and Duric back for games like this, to hold the ball up in the final third. All to play for .
  9. Why is anyone moaning about Burton, they start the season in a relegation battle, a point for them goes towards their survival. We are top scorers , what did anyone expect , they come to attack ? I would think extending an unbeaten run is more than enough to keep the positivity going. If we are a comfortable mid table side this year, that is huge progress. Do not forget what happened last year at this point, we were in the same lofty position and plummeted.
  10. Whilst rubbish, the real battle we have is Blackburn. we have to match their results and NOT lose away to them. If they lose tonight, we can lose. We are against them, or possibly a Birmingham if their run continues as it seems, then the game against them is vital.
