  1. Perfectly put, Dave. I feel so sorry for all involved with the City ladies they have been badly let down. SL clearly had no intention of making us competitive this season. I think we are heading for a major crossroads soon under the current ownership. On a side note I think Gavin Marshall tweeted something similar to the above tweet, but then deleted it? Either that, or he’s blocked me!!
  2. Not hard really is it?; Good manager + Backed by ambitious owner = success
  3. Great post and I totally agree. If the likes of Conway don’t want to sign a new contract then what is the point of us. His mate Scott couldn’t wait to get away….to the mighty Bournemouth! Obviously those two still talk and I imagine have a good laugh at the going’s on at the Gate. It’s hypothetical now of course, but you would think that TC would probably sign a contract if NP was here especially if he’d been backed in the summer with the club showing some ambition. I really fear for us next season if we lose the 3 experienced midfielders in addition to TC and possibly Pring and Knight. It sounds like we will be looking to bring in a beanpole foreign striker which should make for really attractive winning football next year!!
  4. I would think that both Jason Knight and Bird will be having words with their agents…
  5. No you’re right mate, stand by your guns. Unfortunately I think things are only going to get worse. Remember we have only got 2 fit centre backs and god help us if we lose one/both to injury. I think a lot of our fan base will only ‘wake up’ when we’re playing the Gas next year in a league derby and I don’t think they’ll get promoted!
  6. Losing 3-7!! A shame the fans forum is cancelled this Monday as I had a few questions for Gavin Marshal!!
  7. The 4th best supported team in EUROPE after Arsenal, Barcelona & Man U going down with a whimper. City in free fall, the ladies already gone and the Bears 3rd from bottom. Hat tip to messrs Gavin Marshall & Stephen Lansdown….continuing to make Bristol proud.
  8. Haha you’ve nailed it pal!!
  9. It wasn’t broke so didn’t need fixing. Nigel was sacked for non-footballing reasons.
  10. I reckon we are deep in the brown stuff. If we were losing games 2-3, or 3-4 I’d be a bit more relaxed, but we’ve stopped scoring as witnessed in the last few games. Difficult to see where the goals are going to come from under the current format. Add to this the fact the players may have lost confidence in him and are no longer putting in a shift.
  11. To be honest Natch SL has had 20 years to make things right. As I previously said not quite sure what he would do if he did step in as JL/BT are already carrying out his instructions.
  12. Must have missed it. What was the point you were trying to make?
  13. With all due respect that is nonsensical. Do you honestly think that JL is acting independently of his father? SL is the overlord of our club and anything his son or Tinman say is direct from the big man himself. Nothing will change until he sells up which will hopefully be in my lifetime.
  14. I have been going to the Gate since the 70’s and share your frustration. However people need to realise that SL is the problem and not the potential solution as you suggest. Remember he effectively sacked Phil Alexander (previous premiership CEO of the year) and NP and Rennie et al. Big respect for you fellow red but that your paragraph is nonsense.
  15. Give Andy King a go and review at the end of the season.
  16. He should go now. Seems like a nice enough guy but clearly out of his depth. When you start 2 unfit players and leave an expensive loanee out of the squad that is the sign of him losing the plot. There doesn’t appear to be any specific style of play or formation employed by him and seems clueless with tactics when trying to effect a game. I would give Andy King a go to the end of the season. He’s had a positive effect on the youngsters and got all the coaching badges. It could turn out to be a genius stroke but won’t happen as he’s a ‘Pearson’ man.
  17. Why wasn’t he going to get a new deal?
  18. A lot of people on here attack me whenever I say it but this club will continue to be also-rans as long as the Lansdowns own it.
  19. It’s just the latest fad like when players used to apply menthol vapour rub onto their shirts
  20. Perhaps he should be sent to a re-education camp to check on his thinking. Do your research mate and you might find out about the heart conditions/attacks caused by the jabs especially in young men. Not to mention the mystery increased deaths. I’m sure big pharma would like the likes of Nahki to ‘think differently’.
  21. Same old City I’m afraid. Fed up with always being the heroes after losing big cup games and play-off finals, we are perennial losers. Doesn’t matter if it’s the 1st team, under 21s or the ladies. Even the Bears cracked a few years back having been 40 odd point to nil at half-time. Let’s stop patting ourselves on the back for having a soft underbelly and underdog mindset. Given Forest’s league position I wouldn’t have thought they’d have been too bothered going out last night?!
  22. Exactly what I said on Friday night and got roundly mocked for it. Leeds will win this but Plymouth look a well-drilled team and head and shoulders better than our shit show the other night.
  23. I think the ones that have received their P45s the next day. Remember it’s his clubs and his money! Don’t understand why anyone like him gets involved in sport if they don’t want the glory? SL could find enough cash down the side of his sofa to help keep the girls up. Truly baffling and very sad for all those involved with City ladies who thought the recent promotion was the start of bigger things. I can’t understand it with the high profile of women’s football now but then I can understand when I remember who’s running the show. It will be a happy day for me when the Lansdowns move on.
  24. Take a bow Steve Lansdown. Making Bristol proud….
  25. They are average. We are inconsistent and lacking quality. What has changed since we ran them close at their place? We made a bog standard Leeds team look like Real Madrid tonight. I’m actually surprised by how poor this league is this year given the big clubs involved. I just can’t see a way back for Manning after tonight.
