  1. Parachute payments 1 Football ) your reply is a red herring.
  2. Considering the idiotic parachute payments that allows such an imbalance in wages ( quality ) that was one of the most committed City performances you will ever see . as fans you have to admire how NP has turned a total shambles into a team you are proud to support . We are improving by the week and this season could yet surprise us all . It was wonderful to feel a connection between the fans and the club again. Well done everyone , club , players and fans . We are building something wonderful.
  3. As a caution, we also like to feel and for god reason that SL keeps us going. Just imagine what would happen f one day he just said "enough". We would be in exactly the same position. We do not own the ground as a football club, and our debts are huge and our cash flow such we would melt down in weeks. Football is a broken system, there is so much money in the game, yet the businesses are allowed to be run with the most incredible accounting results and manipulation. There is more than enough money generated in the game for it to function in a very sustainable manner, yet clubs continue to over pay wages in the search for success. The guarantees for the debts and loans look to be written in the sand. Owners build up debts knowing the business is ring fenced and they can walk away. The Championship is the most idiotic set up of any sport, where some competitors are paid vast sums for failure. Getting rid of parachute payments should start to bring some wage sanity. Then some. But even our club, what on earth were we doing with a £30m plus wage bll . Madness.
  4. Mel Morris is fully to blame for this. He went on a wild spending spree hoping to get to the Prem , but forgot to pay his bills. He may have spent 200M , but the debts are such you have to doubt he has actually spent it in cash terms. Does the ground get included in the administration process ? I doubt. He had the money to get Derby through to a buyer , but has chosen to let them possibly die. Derby fans should be spitting about that man. FFP fair play is one thing, but when someone knowingly piles up debt with no desire to pay it back, it is fraudulent. He owes HMRC £20 m . He allowed that to happen, yet he will still have his £300/400m safe at home. There is no gun to the head of anyone in football to pay wages to players they cannot afford. Owners do it , and they keep doing it, and keep paying players more than the business can afford. The banks, HMRC, accountants and the EFL need a long hard look at themselves, because this sort of nonsense is not happening over night. How the lot of them escape any fraud charges is beyond me.
  5. Extraordinary . Just who do you think wants to get involved with the total mess that is our club ? You think it is a 5 min fix ? Our problems run deep. The continued ignorance of some fans is mind blowing. Pearson may or may not be the ultimate solution but there are few maybe no one of note that would have taken on our shambles. Who do you want Holloway ? Pearson gets 1.5m and some free transfers and gets 8 months in your view yet LJ spent 50 m plus wages and got 5 years . This year is transition, and to avoid relegation.
  6. Look at the squad . This reflects our recruitment not Pearson. If you cannot see progress over the pile of poo he inherited you are being ridiculous. It is far from sorted but you are not understanding what a mess our club was in. If only the real truth could be told. That Pearson even wanted to stick around is a miracle . If you think there is any manager of ability that wanted to touch our mess you are deluded . City fans ignorance is astounding.
  7. Well no coach in the world can mitigate for that cluster duck. Luton deserved a win , we were terrible , yet even after an undeserved goal. We still implode after 90 mins . That was a very very poor performance . Mid table this season will be a huge positive , but when Luton with their budget show us up we really do see how the millions we have spent have been wasted.
  8. The Sala fe has been accounted for. It is in their accounts. The ground was interesting as it was undervalued, so the new valuation had an impact. Not sure why the Sala fee is in provisions, it is not ,it is in their transfer outlay numbers and in the accounts. It is an opportunity for them if they win win the case or insurance pays out.Overall , they will have a wage bill less than us, and an owner that has similar liabilities. They are far from the worst bunch.
  9. The Sala fee was included in their transfer outgoings in the accounts. Im not suggesting they are in a great place , their debts are huge and they revalued the ground a couple of years ago to help .... But compared to most promoted teams they have got out lightly, unlike the last time they were promoted. They all only have tv income really, transfers have died off and the 8M gate revenue is zero. The accounts for this current season will show huge losses of 20 to 30 M for the majority of clubs.
  10. The Cardiff year of £2m profit includes the Sala fee from my brief reading of the accounts. Of course getting ti taken off will improve their FFP situation now. Seems to be that they really did keep wages low when going up and have balanced incoming and outging transfers since. Whilst like all it is cash poor right now, I do not see that they are in any meltdown with huge player contracts. Our wage bill is probably higher this year,
  11. Point gained, still with a chance of top 6 with 7 games to go. Anything possible.
  12. The core of our side ( and it is pleasing to say) is our L1 side. When people talk of players being signed by other clubs, it is those players who get mentioned. LJ tried to rip it apart last year and got in mess. He learnt his lesson and got them playing together , with great spirit in a new way and results have been great. Forget the last few games, people got ahead of themselves and started thinking " we are a Prem club in waiting" That was ridiculous , we had just had two years of relegation battles, and a coach learning his way in the game. Top ten this year will be a great result, and a great platform to progress next season. Today and the Sunderland game tells you we are far from ready for promotion. You learn to take the points, we saw that clearly in our last promotion, we saw Newcastle do it last year. We have not got that skill yet, but it will come. Finally Kent, a quicker fitter Tomlin. Some awful selfish play and no end result. Our transfer ability is really still nowhere near up to the mark, the list from last January to the last window leaves a lot to be desired. You never get them all right, no matter what club you are at, but our list of players unable to trouble the first team is far far too long. The success level needs to increase. I cannot be bothered to write it out, but the list of players signed under LJ is quite extraordinary , then add in the loan players. LJ needs better material.
  13. That was very poor and in the context of the current performances a little bit of a worry. We needed to get back on track. Still we not in a relegation battle so it is progress .
  14. Playing deep, inviting pressure. Probably tired after all the pressing... Wright lost his man there badly .
  15. Success for myself was avoiding relegation, and a mid table finish. We are certainly on for that, the rest is a bonus. If we were serious about promotion, you have to buy players who can add something instantly,. That is not our policy, as we have failed by doing that in the past and we cannot afford to buy the quality that Wolves have for example, so we have a slow build. We have been hugely hampered with out a right back or main centre forward for months, and maybe more months to come. We miss terribly a Kodja /Tammy level forward as any team in this league would. We have adapted and tried to make the most of what we have, and damn well they have done. Next season, if we can build on this , and fill a couple more gaps, we will be a stronger top 6 competitor. But for now, with the lack of budget and injury list we have, anything top 10 is hitting above our weight. Last season the club was a shambles from top to bottom, all have sorted their act and made notable and pleasing progress. We might make the playoffs if a few players come back from injury and the new players get fit and up to speed fast, if we manage that, it will have been an exceptional season.
  16. Very laboured performance so far, playing very deep with no support for Reid, quality missing in the crossing and passing.. Norwich well organised , and passing well. We really do need Fam and Duric back for games like this, to hold the ball up in the final third. All to play for .
  17. Why is anyone moaning about Burton, they start the season in a relegation battle, a point for them goes towards their survival. We are top scorers , what did anyone expect , they come to attack ? I would think extending an unbeaten run is more than enough to keep the positivity going. If we are a comfortable mid table side this year, that is huge progress. Do not forget what happened last year at this point, we were in the same lofty position and plummeted.
  18. Whilst rubbish, the real battle we have is Blackburn. we have to match their results and NOT lose away to them. If they lose tonight, we can lose. We are against them, or possibly a Birmingham if their run continues as it seems, then the game against them is vital.
