I don’t disagree with any of what you’ve written above, but I do care about being told / sold one thing and getting another.

Grow up Fevs, we all know we’ve been fibbed to!

I’m patient enough to see whether a bit of regression currently turns into trending uplift.  And I’d expect to know that before the season is over.  I don’t see the foundations of that, but nor am I naive to think that I know best and might be missing something / lots of things, or that sometimes it just clicks from nowhere.

Questions from me at this point are:

Could he have made progress in a more seamless way?

Could he have waited to implement the changes til the summer?

Could he have just made what he have already, better?

At the moment we are in a period where we making a big assumption it’s because he doesn’t have the players to change mid-season.  That is an unproven hypothesis at the mo’.

But, hoping we see that progress we all want as City fans, and we can go back to talking about the good stuff going on.

If we put to one side for now the rights or wrongs of getting rid of Nige and deal with LM’s tenure.

My gripe is he’s straight away tried to shoehorn the players we have into a system they are not suited for, and haven’t had time to work on in training either. It hasn’t worked yet, and I would argue it was never going to this season. it would have been better surely to make tweaks this season, and then use pre season to make such radical changes.

Of course I would. DM me.

I have listened to most of your podcasts over the last few years, whilst not always agreeing with Ian he usually can explain his rationale, even if at times an aggressive manner. However whether it’s his recent found ITK status or what he has been getting rather too much lately imo. The way he told you to “shut up” in the last episode was rude and uncalled for. He does seem to becoming a bit too big for his boots.

BTW keep up the good work, best City pod by far.

That's fair enough Graham but on current form, unless there's an improvement, we're on course for a 16th-19th finish which is below the majority (?) view of 10th-12th reflecting a modicum of success this campaign.

Will the owner, JL & BT fess up to perhaps getting it wrong in their assessment of NP not getting the most out of a "top 6" squad? I think not!

Exactly, the reason given for replacing Nige was that he wasn’t getting the most out of the squad at his disposal, &  the new guy would this season. Now all of a sudden it’s, well what do you expect he’s not got his own players, and wait till next season, when he will have had the opportunity to have a pre season. The suits are already trying to change the narrative.

A few takes from last night

Started well, but seem to lose all confidence of passing after Tanner giving the ball away on 13 minutes

Conway and Wells as set up did not work and totally lost our LHS threat

Could not understand why Knight ended up further forward than Conway when defending, surely Knight as a midfielder should have been the 1 going deep. Like knight, but not good at the front midfielder

We were better once we made the subs

    Missed what Twine can offer.

We are not taking shots from outside the box, which had increased after LM first came in

Not convinced with the back 5 shape, we were no good under NP when we used it and only improved when changing to a back 4

Fatigue with playing so many games can be as much mental as physical, we seemed slow in the decision making and so many passing errors with moving the ball slower than we have been

Leeds are in fantastic form, with 5 wins on the bounce, going to be interesting who makes up the top 2 between them and Southampton

Very disappointed with performance, as poor as we have been for some time, after a good display at Coventry

To me I found the formation baffling, it just seemed like we put out our best 11,  many of them weren’t playing in their best positions, players just shoehorned into positions that they aren’t used to, and not playing to their strengths. Rather than choosing a formation and fitting players into unfamiliar roles we need to start choosing a formation that allows our players to play to their strengths.

I'm baffled how anyone could not see that was the plan and that it was a well executed plan by all involved.

I agree, they were also the targets set, which by the way were met.

My question is what is the plan now, what is the target this season?, and what is the target next?, also what do we judge success by for LM? , because from where I I’m Sat they seem to be vague and changing.

Is the target this season top 6, top 10, top half, I’ve no idea. Apart from, its a work in progress, or words to that affect.  I’ve also got absolutely no idea what the hierarchy’s expectations are for next season.

This could help us in our negotiations with Tommy, he will know that the Scottish scouts will be here even more now to see if these two could be their future partnership.

I would have thought the chance to play at a higher level and earn more money would trump any thoughts that Scottish scouts may, or may not, be drawn to watching us because we’ve got two potential Scottish players playing for us.

I happen to believe he’ll only not sign if he’s a chance of playing at a higher level. Of course that would also impress Scottish scouts more as well.

No. Because if I see one more corner hit the front man again on Friday I’ll run on and take it my bloody self.

I actually can’t wait for Friday now, looking forward to a guy running on from the crowd, putting in a pin point corner, for Dickie to rise up and plant a header in the top corner. 😀

I’ve said before on a number of VAR related threads that VAR could be an asset to the game if it was applied properly.
It’s unpopular because we apply it wrongly.

Agreed, plain and obvious is the phrase that gets overlooked, if they stuck to these principles it would be fine.

Pring was nowhere near fit enough to start with & had to build up his levels. When Pearson started playing him he was spent after a hour. It took a long time for him to build up the stamina we see today. Similar is happening now with mcrorie. Lots go on behind the scenes that fans are not privy to. There’s a reason they make the choices they do that we don’t know about.

I noticed on Mcororie’s first start, there were times you could almost see him consciously playing within his limits. Not making forward runs etc, each game his levels improve, but he’s still not up to full speed yet. Once he does I think he’ll be one hell of a player, such a shame he has been out for so long.

I give her cash these days, I am not allowed to buy my wife presents anymore not after what is known in our house as, "the Dyson incident".

If, as is hinted , you actually bought your Mrs a vacuum as a present, the only thing that surprises me is that you are still alive to tell the tale.

Might take 3 windows at least as apart from (currently) Dickie Vyner Atkinson Pring Knight and Conway imo we need to upgrade.

On your reckoning then how many upgrades do we need? , you say we’ve 6 ok players and everyone else needs upgrading ?, surely not.

  12. Gerry Gow, Merrick 2nd, Cheese but not for long enough really to compare as we’ll never know what might have been.

Whilst we’ve had many exciting players over the years, all the really good ones have left to achieve their goals. for me the best of these are Cole, Webster, and now possibly Scott.

At a lower level two of my personal favourites are “Smudger”, and “Super Bob”

  13. Until covid the pies and pasties were very tasty and not too expensive, I used to regularly have one, even that they were a bit expensive at least any profit would go to the club. Since though they have obviously changed their suppliers and they’re awful. I’ve noticed the queues have reduced as obviously other people feel the same.
