  1. I’m not sure what that’s meant to signify. We have different opinions and that’s fine. Best to leave it there
  2. I think another point to add to that is that the sorts of events they’re talking about will have security staff who are far more likely and willing to get hands on with people causing trouble at these events so they is how they are policed. that won’t happen with the stewarding at Ashton Gate and quite right to. Im sure the posters complaining wouldn’t like to be manhandled by stewards at Ashton Gate like they could be a a festival or a club night
  3. Don’t think I said you should stay away. i said that you made the choice to go which you did, I presume you weren’t forced to go ? And I said that this is something we know can happen. what part of what I said there is wrong and at what point did I say you should stay away ? You say they were power hungry cops shoving dogs in your face but that’s your opinion, nobody else seems to be complaining about the way they were treated last night. You know nothing about me or my tendencies and as you’re not my mate I’d appreciate it if you didn’t use that term towards me.
  4. Definitely saw it at West Ham but that wasn’t Police it was a private company
  5. Not sure if you’re trying to be funny or making out that I’m a bootlicker as you called someone earlier. but I can assure you I’ve seen a lot more pain and distress caused by people intoxicated or off their heads on drugs than I’ve ever seen caused by a dog detecting drugs or pyros.
  6. Well you chose to go to the match and these are things that can happen in todays society
  7. Pretty rare that police will deploy drugs dogs at football but I’ve seen private security dogs doing it at a few places. Not sure I’ve seen it at Ashton Gate
  8. Well from the majority of views on here it would appear that most of us are happier to have a dog sniffing the air than be around people under the excesses of alcohol and drugs at football. You’re obviously entitled to your opinion but it seems most of us don’t share it.
  9. And certainly not appropriate if you were giving a talk in a school ! That advice has its limits.
  10. Ah right maybe you can tell me if the quarter final will be at Ashton Gate
  11. There was a guy who seemed very well informed on the City squad with regards their training and contact with the first team
  12. It’s already done, Swindon at home
  13. I thought it was a bit more upmarket than an off licence
  14. It’ll be a very different dog sniffing for drugs than preventing or dealing with disorder. If they were police dogs then it won’t have been General Purpose dogs being walked through the crowds.
  15. The way these dogs work is simply by air scenting. They pass by a queue of people or they just mingle amongst the crowds. It’s no more of an issue than a dog passing you by on the street or in the local park. Can’t really see why it necessitates a letter of complaint. If it prevents somebody taking a pyrotechnic or drugs into the ground then I’m fine with it. How do you feel about CCTV because football grounds are covered in it and will be able to monitor inside and outside the ground. The dog pales into insignificance compared to that
  16. I had some of the Burnley staff behind me and it was something they were saying. I wasn’t listening to their conversation but I heard the odd bit and that’s what I thought they said
  17. Swindon have beaten Luton, Sunderland and Manchester United in the competition. I believe the quarter final has to be staged at the clubs first team stadium
  18. Forest have certainly used pyrotechnics dogs before and won’t have been handled by Police officers as these dogs would be from private security companies. I was at the Under 18s last night so didn’t see these dogs or handlers. Were they definitely Police or Private security who often like to look as much like the Police as possible
  19. I think his choice of football team makes that answer pretty easy
  20. Perhaps he was hoping we’d go down and bolster their attendance
  21. No longer wanted at City, Rovers offer him a contract that means his personal circumstances can stay the same. It’s his job so he’s done what’s best for him.
  22. And that was playing at right back which isn’t his best position.
