  1. Perhaps he’s asking why was this 19 year old chosen now, to be used now and not in years to come after spending time with the junior sides as has happened with other transfers. He has no real history of playing senior football and as we know there is a big step up from under 21 football.
  2. Well I’m yet to see anything of a consistent nature that would convince me he’s a championship quality player in our current set up
  3. Yes Mehmeti may be useful at L1 level but it will be interesting to see if LM continues for much longer with him at Championship level.
  4. Bearing in mind how good LM thinks Mehmeti is then that would concern me
  5. Well He scored for Bath tonight
  6. I’ve got us finishing 11th on 61 points. Leicester and Ipswich automatically promoted. Southampton, Leeds, West Brom and Norwich in the play offs and QPR, Millwall and Rotherham relegated.
  7. You know you’ll go to football it’s the hope that kills us
  8. I don’t think that because somebody might not want to be around a toxic negative atmosphere that it automatically makes them a happy clapper.
  9. That’s not a bad shout with Roberts in front of Pring. Roberts looks comfortable on the ball and I think he could link up nicely further up the pitch
  10. I’m with you Sir Geoff, I’ve really seen nothing on a consistent level to suggest that Mehmeti has improved at all. He now gets more game time which gives him more time to impress some but I really don’t see it ! No pace, rarely beats a man and If you watch when he does it’s because of ricochets. No goals, low assist rate, crossing poor and his anticipation of and ability to deal with defensive situations is below what is required. I’ll be more than happy if he proves me wrong and I will be the first to admit it but I’ll be surprised if it happens.
  11. I’d love to see Dickie and Atkinson attacking a Twine dead ball. Probably never see that though
  12. Can’t guarantee it would have been a different outcome but as I’ve said in a different thread once Bell went off their right back Dunne had a much easier afternoon.
  13. Kind of the ref to allow Ten Haag to substitute Casemiro at half time ! should have been a red card and United know it
  14. Well for me that tackle by Casemiro was a booking and the ref has bottled it ! I wonder if his card would of stayed in his pocket if it had been a Luton player
  15. Yes this definitely isn’t a new phenomenon. we did indeed go forwards on occasion yesterday but sadly it usually ended in an uncontested header for a QPR player to send back towards our goal
  16. I was more commenting on Wilders comments earlier in the season and how important he clearly thinks he is as a Premier League manager. Maybe he won’t be so full of himself when or if he’s back in the championship.
  17. Ah yes Chris Wilder who was incensed that a referees assistant would dare to eat a sandwich in front of a premier league manager Well hopefully he won’t be a premier league manager for long.
  18. They looked rubbish against us at Ashton Gate last season in my opinion and Luton were no better. At least Luton have gone into the premier league and ruffled some feathers Sheffield United have looked poor everytime I’ve seen them
  19. Personally I thought the only time Dunne had real trouble was against the pace of Bell. After Bell went off the day became considerably easier for Dunne
  20. Pointless having the forum then, just gives people with a love of their club the opportunity to discuss what they’ve watched. What’s your opinion on Mehmeti ?
  21. The argument that he is trying to implement a new playing style without time to do so is a little confusing in my mind. If he’s trying to implement a style with no time to do so and with potentially a group of players of which a fair few may be gone next season then play to your strengths that you have now ! Get some points on the board and win over the fans, he was always coming into a difficult situation with NPs departure. implement your new style in pre season with the players from the current squad who you’ll be retaining and the new players you’re bringing in.
  22. Yes I remember that and it was certainly a good test of him that he came through without issue. Could it be a case that the player’s natural instincts on the pitch are being dampened by the style of play or message that is coming from the sidelines ? Is it too rigid without natural expression? Not a criticism of the coaching staff but there seem to be a lot of comments about players performances being strange
  23. I too was confused that it’s apparently normal. Id be interested in knowing what benefit there is in having a player on the bench who is not fit to come on
  24. Seems to be one of the new coaching fads of modern football. Very few teams I’ve seen this season leave a player up. As you mentioned throw ins, yet again ours were atrocious yesterday ! But thats a topic that’s already been discussed in detail
