£50 says we’ll see a red card before the end of the season.

I thought he was close today with that challenge on the side line with his studs up. So composed on the ball, he did look like he was carrying a injury tonight. So can’t wait to see him when he’s had 5/6 games under his belt.

  2. I think he has started to trust Dasilva again and won’t drop Pring. I can see him bringing Bentley back into the team and reverting back to a back four.

                 Bentley

    Vyner Kalas Klosse Pring

    Scott Williams Massengo DaSilva

             Weimann Semenyo

Dunno about Vyner, but I think the way we finished the game might be how we go on Wednesday.  I’m still sh1t scared playing Williams on Wednesday, though.

I’m struggling to see who else there is at RB in a 433. I think if we go 4 at the back Vyner will play. I don’t think he would trust switching Dasilva auto RB in a 4.

@Jerseybean posted last Sunday that he was told he had signed from the Guernsey end. Do we announce 17 year olds on the OS?

He also mentioned that there was a young striker, Sol Solomon, on trial on the mainland and wandered if that was us too?

Seems to be a lot of good players coming from the Channel Islands of late.

That's our suggestion in the latest episode of the FBC Podcast : https://foreverbristolcity.podbean.com/e/a-cup-very-much-half-full-despite-3rd-round-exit/ [also on Spotify, Google & Apple]

We detect a general level of optimism about the direction City are heading in and that's despite going out of the cup and now losing 3 out of 4 successive home games.

What a performance from Pring and HNM yesterday but for us the introduction of JD as a RIGHT wing back for 50 minutes and his performance is why we include him in our line up which brings back that players that were rested yesterday.

Atkinson looked to have got some of his confidence back yesterday alongside the imperious Kalas and Scott showed why he's best suited to a midfield role once JD appeared.

It was a meh performance from Andy King and I can't believe why Callum O'Dowda was allowed to complete the 120 minutes - a horrendous miss and a few good touches apart very little end product. He's a waste of a shirt - in his 6th season with us and over 150 appearances he's scored 7 goals and only 2 in the last 50 or so games. Let him go!!!

I liked how we set up against QPR 433, 2 sitting midfield players, one more advanced attacking midfielder with a front 3 alternating up top and when wide the wide players keeping wide when they are out there.

James and King sitting in Deep with Scott more advanced and pulling the strings.

Semenyo, Weimann and O’Dowda up top, who have all looked back to their best, O’Dowda is much better in a forward position than out wide in a 352 and that has been proven when he’s in a more attacking role.

in defence I would have Kalas and Atkinson CB with Vyner and Pring full backs.

                  O’Leary

    Vyner Kalas Atkinson Pring

           James Scott king

    Weimann Semenyo  O’Dowda

Simpson, but he's not been in the last few 18s.  Only others are:

    Cundy - returning from injury

    Williams - back training

    Tanner - injured

    Baker - injured

    Morton - god knows

    Britton - training with u23s

    S.Pearson - ditto

We really have a small squad.

Simpson, good shout. I didn’t include others as they were injured. I take it Bakinson,James, Towler and Simpson injured now then? Otherwise why have 2 GKs on bench.

Looking at that, I don’t think our squad is that small???

Right here and now there is no time set for Nigel's return. OK, its a free weekend coming up but then City face 3 tough games in 8 days. Just 1 or 2 points from those and the spectre of relegation will loom larger.

City must have a footballing leader at the helm. Nigel will not be fired as that means paying off his contract. I am sure like any employee there is an occupational sick pay scheme such that it is likely he would be on full pay for six months and then half pay for a further 6 months. After that is when the negotiating starts for agreeing a sum to terminate the contract based on inability to continue work. With SL in charge you can rest assured City will do the right thing. The optics of relieving him of his duties would not look good.

A normal business would take stock of the situation and if, say, their FD was going to be absent over a testing period [for year end, company acquisition read relegation battle in football terms] an interim would be hired to address the issue. I know this as I have helped companies do this in my day job!

I suggested Warnock over the weekend as an interim but, not unexpectedly, that bought hoots of derision on OTIB although one or two are now coming around to the idea. A less contentious, and dare I say more popular choice, would be Joe Jordan who could call on Harry Redknapp to sprinkle some stardust on matchday [they worked together at Spurs].

There will be no clarity on this until we know just how long Nigel is going to be absent for and then there will be those that say even while he's been here results suggest he's not improved things so why have him back?

One final point on Warnock, his win % over the past 5 years is not too shabby compared to Nigel's.

NP is in constant contact with coaching and team affairs he is just currently working remotely from home. I’ve been told teams calls to coaching staff and players is constantly going on day to day. I think this will continue to happen until NP is fit to get back to the club FT.

one point I’ve noticed over the last 48hrs is that people are knocking NP for being ill and saying he’s shouldn’t be in his role if he’s not fit, however when Cotts was ill nobody on here said that he should give up his role or he’s not fit to continue, they wished him well and a speedy recovery.

I can’t wait to see NP back in his role and getting the team ticking again. It was never going to be a five minute fix, we need patience, I do agree we need to see improvements and if that means new faces as some people don’t want to be here then let’s get it done in January.

  8. So we have 7 pages of rumours???? Nothing confirmed reference Press conference or Nige leaving!! Just lots of rumours. Must be a quiet day at school. We all asked for a proven manager and that’s what we got. Time to get behind him and remember this was never a 1 year fix!

He is and imo should be playing. On what 20k a week here and 30 years old? Who would touch him in current climate.

Someone who wants goals! He won’t be happy sitting on the bench at city, if he’s offered a chance of lower money but with game time, surely that would be attractive at his age.

Nagy and kalas I can see going, cant see anyone touching Wells.

Wells is a Goalscorer and will get you 10/15 goals a season given the game time. He is a natural finisher! Something we missed today.
