    You’re right.

Think it is also highly likely some very honest conversations have taken place between him & Manning too.

We both believe the contract extension was triggered a while back but if he knows that he’s going to be a bit part player no matter what then frankly he might as well be that much nearer to home.

He cost us the same fee as Gustav Engvall, made well over 200 appearances for us & scored 51 goals.

He totally deserves to pick the moment to move on & based on the way he responded to his ACL injury, I won’t be surprised if he still manages to come up with some valuable contributions for the Baggies.

I’m a huge fan (always am of anyone who consistently gives of their best) & wish him nothing but success.

    Was Engvall really £2m? 🤦🏻‍♂️

    I couldn't resist writing that response 😄

In absolute honesty I am resigned to the fact that ship has sailed a loooong time ago. Heart says 'absolutely' but sadly sensible head says 'no'.

I’m sure we could have had him as manager once but after a boardroom split we went for Pulis instead? 😅

…..or am I mixing my stories and that was Peter Taylor?

    I know...I've read the coaching manuals. 🤷

However...if you asked the average fan on the street what ' behaviors' meant in coaching terms, they'd put it under the same umbrella that includes a player's attitude.

It's not a term that's used in everyday language.

I've mentioned it before...it's fine when you're winning, but it will be another stick to beat him with when not doing well.

As LJ and Ashton found out.

The counter to that would be to ask if that would be patronising to dumb down the correct use age of language so the “average fan on the street” gets it?

Like you, I did enjoy that he was also self-aware enough to mock himself for his constant use of those words. Anything that shows his human side is welcomed.

Blimey- seems like you have hit on a theme tonight.

Trouble is- You're  unable to put a grammatical sentence together.

When you attend school tomorrow, pay extra attention in your  English lesson.

    Happy to help.

Your post makes me think of this quote from Abraham Lincoln:

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

I suppose it keeps them involved at U-23 level and maybe Manning feels it is counter-productive and/or condescending  include a player if they are not going to be genuinely considered to be brought on at some point.

Like you, I probably would prefer it if we did include youth players but, obviously we still have 2 subs more than we can use so we’re not short in practice if there are only seven players outside the team who are realistically going to feature.

Also an argument that psychologically it could stunt their development if they think they are closer to the first team than they realistically are. Got to keep them hungry.

Penalty ( ‘Handball’ )against Newcastle in 6thmin of added on time in Paris

Their have been dozens of farcical decisions in recent years , but we might have a winner

Outrageous , farcical , laughable and makes the game a complete nonsense , and utter joke

    Disgraceful

    WTF

Every time I see someone say that sort of thing, I check against Wolves... and yes, they had had an identical penalty awarded against them this season by VAR.

That is all very well but expectations are set. Manning got the job for the reasons stated to the stakeholders.

We will see how much money is spent in January, that wasn’t given to Pearson and how that corresponds with our league position at the time.

Regardless of the time going to be given to Manning overall the expectation of giving Manning what he wants to bring in his players and have a run at a top six finish was very real to the bloke I sat with on Saturday and he’s not the only one.

To be honest, that's straying into "my truth" vs "the truth" territory brought to the fore by Gen Z.

That said, the players may well respond well to his training methods and we may do excellent business in January and we achieve it anyway. Nothing is impossible in the Championship.

I believe that they had decided that NP had served his purpose and done the job he was paid to do and were never going to renew his contract but I agree that there was clearly a clash. I think the health issue brought forward their decision by half a season.

I thought the timing was off but in hindsight believe they made the right decision at the right time.

I find Liam Manning a breath of fresh air and any nest egg support they give him is fantastic news. The views of some that this is in some way unfair on NP is, quite frankly, absurd.

Having decided to bring forward the transition from Nige to "a new guy", I agree it would be absurd not to also bring forward some of our Summer business too. If nothing else, to increase the bedding in period and give us the greatest chance of success next season.

I was a little surprised to hear this too

However having watched it back if you listen very carefully JL very quietly mentions that AG is part of Bristol Citu holdings.

My recollection is that he handed it over to "Group CEO" Gavin Marshall to explain better but when Gavin was not really answering the question asked, JL questioned "it's under Bristol City Holdings right?".

I don't know whether he was being subservient to the group CEO in his tone or whether I am more sure of our corporate structure more than our chairman is. To be honest I'm not sure which I'd prefer it to be.
