Yes, a classic case of inconsistency / failure to follow the guidelines.  Only Mr Donohue will know whether his leniency to give yellow cards for a few fouls was down to ex-PL / big-club bias.

I don't think any match officials adopt conscious biases but I do think they are subject to unconscious biases in favour of the perceived better teams/players.

To reach 72 points realistically we have to win the next 3 games.  Beyond that home games against Swansea, Huddersfield,  Rotherham and Blackburn are also must win.  That leaves Sunderland and Stoke away as games where we could win.  The likelihood of winning all these games is low to say the least.  I don’t know what the odds of us getting into the playoffs is, but I would looking for at least 10-1 before I would risk any of my hard earned cash.

.....and you'd likely get close to those 10/1 odds just betting on us to win the next 3 games and rolling the winnings after each game.

  3. I hate to piss on the 15 points from 7 dream but two of the games are Ipswich (away) and Leicester(h). If those are draws we will have done very well.

That said, we have it within us to win a game against QPR, Sheff W, Cardiff, Swansea and West Brom.

    So 17 points it is.

Ref played advantage I think? There was at least one or two where that was the case and I’m almost certain if they aren’t actually successful in stopping the attack then it’s no yellow (unless it’s dangerous etc)

The "advantage" where Mehmeti took two touches before being tackled by the same guy who fouled Conway? To me, that was a short enough time to find it incredulous that he didn't pull it back for a free-kick. Southampton then got a corner from our "advantage" instead of us having a free-kick just outside the box and their player wasn't even booked.

Great result but what? Well, normally I give you a free pass but tonight you join the clickbateable society along with countless others that I follow on YouTube, please don't stoop to their level; it's not big and it's not clever.

Did you miss the pelters Dave took for posting a “Great Result but…” thread after the Boro win as he wanted to discuss the reasons for our backs to the wall second half performance?

This was Dave giving credit where it’s due with a bit of self-deprecation thrown in. Not sure I’d call it clickbait.

Again, it’s algorithm based. Like if you are a covid denier you will see a lot of people denying covid and if you aren’t you won’t

I'd like to know why tf my X algorithm shows me so much flat Earth bs then?!

    I'm 100% a globie!

First of all, caveats about every player having a highlight reel, and the video being entirely youth football, but...

I do like how much he's running with his head up scanning, quite a few unselfish moments where he lays it off to someone, even when in a decent position himself.

And that Man Utd side probably couldn't wait for that game to end, as he scores 1 and gets 5 assists! (maybe generous giving the last as his assist)

He also looks genuinely comfortable with both feet, and plays on both wings and centrally in the video (but mostly on the right).

There's no way he'd have been awarded that penalty for us though!

The thing I liked in that video (usual points about standard etc) was that when stood still, faced up with a block, he seemed aware of those around him and used his long stride to create new simple passing lanes. He seems not to be hand-cuffed to trying to beat the same defender three times like a former right-winger of ours.

This could help us in our negotiations with Tommy, he will know that the Scottish scouts will be here even more now to see if these two could be their future partnership.

Plus if you watch the First Day video it’s clear they know each other (presumably from the Scottish U21s) and Tommy seems absolutely buzzing that he’s signed. It’s genuinely the happiest I’ve seen TC since AS was sold.

I can’t get my head around Bournemouth at all . They have league 1 attendances the same TV income as clubs like Everton . Don’t gain any income from alternative uses of their stadium and spend £30-50m every season on players without selling on any home grown talent to the “ big boys” . How the hell are they within FFP rules ???

A quick search online has their wage bill estimated to be be between £30m-35m lower than the likes of Forest and Everton.

Wait, we supposedly beat Brentford to the signature of Stokes because we were willing to loan him back to Aldershot and Brentford weren't?

So Brentford switched their sights to Krauhaus, then loaned him back to Bromley 🤔

'Crap deal for City as Premier league clubs will be after him if he keeps up his performance levels for Aldershot'.

Not sure how that's bad for us? £20M+ please.

I’m sure they meant from a fan’s perspective of watching him in our shirt. Growing our nest egg doesn’t interest me in the slightest.
