Max Bird Signed (& loaned back to Derby) - CONFIRMED
Ian M replied to Finley_Smith10's topic in Football Chat
I think it's in the rules somewhere that if you're called Ian you have to be a dick. -
The thing I liked in that video (usual points about standard etc) was that when stood still, faced up with a block, he seemed aware of those around him and used his long stride to create new simple passing lanes. He seems not to be hand-cuffed to trying to beat the same defender three times like a former right-winger of ours.
-
Plus if you watch the First Day video it’s clear they know each other (presumably from the Scottish U21s) and Tommy seems absolutely buzzing that he’s signed. It’s genuinely the happiest I’ve seen TC since AS was sold.

Played in the same age group as Rico Lewis and got the players’ player of the year award for the 21/22 season when scoring 11 & assisting 18 from the right wing in the U18s.

Coventry City away match thread
Ian M replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Wish I'd managed to watch on a Cov stream. I'm fed up with hearing from Robins TV that we are basically prime Real Madrid (with our only handicap being competition winner Mehmeti) whilst Manning is the next Pep. -
FA Cup 5th Round: Man Utd at Home (if we beat Forest)
Ian M replied to Not Banksy's topic in Football Chat
Nah, I think it’s pretty much universally accepted how bad it was -
A quick search online has their wage bill estimated to be be between £30m-35m lower than the likes of Forest and Everton.
-
Wait, we supposedly beat Brentford to the signature of Stokes because we were willing to loan him back to Aldershot and Brentford weren't? So Brentford switched their sights to Krauhaus, then loaned him back to Bromley
-
I’m sure they meant from a fan’s perspective of watching him in our shirt. Growing our nest egg doesn’t interest me in the slightest.

Why would you post this before full time? -
Just excuses. Ball was played backwards to Danilo who tried to drive forward but was tackled by Blackpool and the ball fell to Yates who it could be argued was borderline offside but as I said, it was Blackpool who played the ball to him. Yates then crossed it backwards to Wood who converted.

Did he watch a lot of Northern Premier League Division One South football (Tier 9) back when Vardy was a teenager then? (Vardy made it to tier 5 at 23)
-
Where's Vardy on that list? I thought he was £1m?
-
Could he have been at Ipswich at the same time as Manning?

Scott Twine - Loan Confirmed - No option to buy
Ian M replied to Shauntaylor85's topic in Football Chat
On the presumption that at some point between this window closing and the next opening, we continue to liaise with Burnley and reach an agreement on a fee, it could be that we delay for accounting purposes. I can see pro's and con's for both completing a deal in this season's accounts and next season's, but as we reach the end of the season and the club have concrete numbers to work with, they will know far better than this layman which date would be preferable. -

See @Harry’s reply to you. It’s lower than you think it is. I also believe the more he plays the less we pay Burnley too. -
Scott Twine - Loan Confirmed - No option to buy
Ian M replied to Shauntaylor85's topic in Football Chat
With regard to no future price agreed, what if we were aware that Twine was both keen to return to the South West and keen to reunite with Manning but knew we couldn’t get Burnley to lower their current valuation? That we had a feeling we could secure a lower price in the longer term by not agreeing one now through the player pushing for the move and a feeling that Burnley may not end up themselves in the Championship next season? Not agreeing a fee now isn’t cast in stone that we cannot get him at a reasonable price come the Summer. I know I have been critical at times of JL in recent months but it doesn’t mean that everything he does has to be shit. -

Opta actually. His successful dribbles was the highest of all players in the match. -

Mehmeti only misplaced 5 out of 28 passes last night and 3 of his 9 dribble attempts were unsuccessful.
