  1. Fine in Amsterdam.....but that might be the gear.
  2. He won't be sacked I agree, but Richardson had a win rate of 42% over 117 games and a promotion and manager of the year. Nige's record over 85 games is a win rate 29% so you can see there will be speculation. We know Nige has dealt with a difficult hand but so has Richardson....Wigan have been in administration, financial trouble, unable to pay wages, dodgy owners the lot so they've had their own problems. As I said I think Nige is safe for now and the Lansdowns are patient but most clubs would sack a manager with a 29% win rate stretching back 2 seasons. FWIW I think if we do drop into the bottom 3 on Saturday and are still there in January then SL will act to protect the finances avoid the revenue loss of dropping into L1. The promotion of BT to Technical Director means there would still be some continuity and stability should that happen so it might just sway SL to gamble on a change.
  3. Do we assume Nige now reports to Tinnion?
  4. Our history of managerial appointments mostly pivots between experience and young inexperienced guys as each failure causes a reactive action to appoint the opposite type ....so Wilson to Tinnion to GJ & SC and back to Millen. Cotts to LJ, Holden to Nige. SOD to Cotts the only exception. So expect a rookie already at, or with connections to, the club (IE a Millen Tins LJ Holden type). Andy King ! or if we go down and SL waits that long ....Louis Carey! Not my choices (that would be Edwards) but they would be very SL-esq type of appointments.
  5. Spot on, they are straying back into Nigel Adkins territory with this appointment. Saints once had the vision to appoint Mauricio Pochettino so the fans are unlikely to be excited by Nathan Jones .
  6. Someone will be along in a minute to point out that he didn't really enjoy that season and that Steve Cotterill wasn't a proper manager anyway.
  7. I was on the High Street at about 4pm and saw and heard them............livened the place up though at least, it's usually deserted these days.
  8. Even someone who's Dad went on a day trip to Barry Island qualifies for Cmyru !
  9. Jealousy I guess...........most of them don't have toilets or running water
  10. My flight to Amsterdam went without a hitch, sat on the canalside now waiting for kick off with a Grolsch (I wish!)
  11. Handy, a few pints - then pop across the road and pray for a clean sheet
  12. A bland and uninteresting take on his time in BS3.....good bunch of lads/unlucky/just couldn't get over the line blah blah. Thanks due to the Bristol Post though for we now know not to waste any money on 300 more pages of this rubbish. After a good start to his managerial career with Barnsley he spent the next 20 years meandering through the mostly lower leagues achieving just one promotion from the bottom league in all of those 20 seasons. He was deservedly sacked by Lansdown - and by almost every other club he subsequently managed - and if it wasn't for RR's obsession we'd have all forgotten about him years ago.
  13. Hope you feel better soon
  14. £5 at North Ferriby.....Steak Pie, chips, mushy peas ££ and to wash it down ? a handy 5 pints of German Beer at Eintracht Frankfurt for 30 euros complete with carry pack.........Can football (indeed life) get any better?
  15. Not really, they've done well for a very small club and Hughes and Edwards were a big part of that - bigger clubs have noticed and poached them. I think there is a possibility he'd be interested, yes he's Mr Bristol City and respected by everyone at the club especially Steve Lansdown but going forward Steve could find the buyer/investor he's been looking for and someone could come in and be looking to put his own DoF in to carry out his strategy. Matt Taylor the Exeter manager (about to join Rotherham) stated the other day - I'm happy at Exeter but in football you have to keep moving forward and take the opportunities when they arise". Depends on Tinns view and what he wants from the game. I think he'll likely stay but it wouldn't be a total shock if he left.
  16. Fergie was sacked by St. Mirren He then took the club to an industrial tribunal...........and lost!
  17. Too late, he's already got one ...........the book I mean - obviously!
  18. The full game is available now to watch on PRTV premiershiprugby.com you don't need to register to watch this, click on Bristol Bears icon and you'll find it. If anyone is interested.
  19. 22,023 according to the Evening Post/Bristol Live report.
  20. Listened on RB, still not sure how Bath can have a player red carded but still play with 15 men. Funny old game. The full match replay is on PRTV tomorrow ( free I think?) so will watch it and see all the incidents unfold as it sounded a great watch from the excellent analysis by Coochie on RB.
