Little stat from this wiki that is useless but I liked "He is believed to be the only player to have played in each of the top eight tiers of English football in ascending order"
Was looking him up thought I recognised his name he played 600 games for them and Burnley.
Fairly sure he was discovered (along with his brother Shane) by one Steve Cotterill whilst they were both playing for Cirencester Town while Cotts was Cheltenham manager. Both played for Cheltenham and Cotts took Mike to Burnley. Not sure about Shane.
Cotts - Always a good judge of a player,

I don't see why it would; the initial delay was that Stendahl couldn't be properly understood or understand what was going on owing to technical failing of the remote link.
The rescheduled trial was months later so, assuming that they have either sorted the link or Stendahl is there in person, it should be rapidly resolved as the case is straightforward enough so it's then on to the verdict as the jury decide who is telling the truth.
I know what the weight of opinion would be on here, or on any football forum tbh, but we're not on the jury.
Hard to see why it's scheduled to take all week, Stendel said he was pushed, Barton said he didn't push him. No footage or independent witnesses. Barton's previous won't be known to the jury. Unless I'm missing something it's hard to see a jury convicting him or why the CPS are proceeding.
Much as I'd love to see the gashead banged up I do expect him to walk free - on both trials with his WAG not testifying against him on the second trial.

It wasn`t showing yesterday. I wonder if the manager situation up there has now prompted Sky to show it.
That's right, I have Sky sports and it's definitely now showing on the Sky Guide as a red button option to the Livingston v Rangers game.
Saves the £10 rtv payment. Happy Days!

I understand why you say mostly, but point of order..........Quig & Clark never played in the same line up as they were both a part of a swap deal with Hudders .
Yes, you're right it was a swap. Thanks just the players I remember playing most often,....Ray Savino also played a few games and possibly a very young Gerry Sharpe ( although that may have been as season later). Certainly Chris Crowe and Hugh McIlmoyle arrived later that season as well. 2 great signings.

Jeez……..I absolutely no idea!
My first game at AG aged 12 was in 1967. John Atyeo was playing and I didn’t even remember him. Too busy messing around and eating sweets………..…..
Probably because he wasn't playing!...........Atyeo retired at the end of the 1965/66 season

I started going in 1966/67*so the season after Big John retired unfortunately so the earliest would be Alec Briggs and Gordon Parr who both debuted in 1957. Of course many on OTIB with have seen John Atyeo play who made his debut in 1951/52 season.
* the memory is hazy after 55 years but the team that year was mostly:
Gibson Ford Briggs Parr Connor Low Derrick Clark Bush Quigley Peters

Palmer, Dasilva, Vyner, Wells and I have a feeling it might be Bakinson too.
that would be my "top 5" as well. Based on the teams/squad Nige has selected - and the subs made - when these players have been fit and available.
Three of them signed for relatively high fees by Championship standards. Bakinson was only £500K though I think.

The park and ride is cheaper, easier to drive to (not stuck in a tonne of traffic) and drops you off right outside the ground. The cricket club probably takes just as long to get out from after the game also, as everyone’s trying to cram through a couple of gates. I just find the bus a more chilled experience.
The park and ride is great...for getting to the ground. Getting home is not so good. I used to use the Portway P&R regularly and I found that unless you got on the bus or buses already waiting at the stop (by the Robins pub) then you had a wait of maybe 50 minutes while the buses fight through the traffic on Winterstoke Rd and then run down to the P&R site and return. To get on the buses waiting at the stop meant leaving at least 5 minutes before the end of the match, the final straw was after a night game where we waited in the pouring rain for nearly an hour and it was so cold and wet an elderly gentleman waiting collapsed and an ambulance had to be called. When the bus finally came it pulled up with the door by the back of the queue and those at the back piled on leaving those at the front who had waited the longest to wait even longer for another bus.
I haven't used it since.

Stevie G confirmed.
Despite late interest from Bristol City Steven Gerard has opted to join Aston Villa. " I'm flattered by the interest shown by City, a tough decision but the lure of the PL just tipped it in Villa's favour"

He joins at the end of the season so will be part of next season's budget. There's a wage bill cap (without looking it up £7M I think) in Rugby and over that they are allowed 2 marquis players (presumably Radrandra and Piatau).
I think AJ's contract was expiring at Sale (he's 31) and presumably Bristol offered more wages. It all has to fit into the salary cap# so I would expect a few Bears to be leaving as well.
# Saracens paid some players in excess of the cap by means of "investing " in businesses set up for the players by their then owner and got relegated for it....so I doubt Bristol would be doing anything untoward.

Just listened to Gould on RB, deeply unimpressive. On Nige - no real idea if or when he's coming back, just we hope yada yada. Pressed on January - we would like to bring in targets but has to be value etc , difficult window etc, translation = we ain't spending any money.
The whole 20 minute phone interview was unimpressive, lots of we'd like to's and we hope to's but no firm plans to change or do anything other than work hard and hope we turn the corner
He did rule out Shakespeare though. ( Presumably on cost)
So the plan for the season is hope Nige gets better and turns it around with the existing players..... That hasn't worked so far!
Overall - unimpressed with RG. Lansdown still making all the decisions. Jon CGAF. Nige out for the foreseeable. L1 beckons- 9

Steve Lansdown waiting for Sunderland to sack Lee Johnson before reappointing him!
You jest but that wouldn't actually surprise me.
"Lee has unfinished business here, he was hampered by recruitment team before, learned a lot at Sunderland, he comes back a better manager" said Steve Lansdown. "I'll be giving him my "full" backing"
" Now we can leave everything to Lee while the board get on with important business matters" Said Chairman Jon Lansdown talking from his sunbed in Bermuda.

School friend of mine’s Nan lived up the top of Ambra Vale, it was rough as **** back then (early 70’s), how times change….probably looking at 600k plus for a two up/two down straight onto the pavement there now!
Back in 1974 I had a mate who lived in a bedsit on Ambra Vale East.... absolutely disgusting hovel, 4 bedsits sharing a bathroom in the cellar. He said an old Irish couple in their 60's lived in the room next door and in 2 years he never saw or heard them visit the bathroom! ( He reckoned they used a bucket and washed it down the sink !!!

Watford change their manager at the drop of a hat. It doesn’t seem to do them much harm. Conceding 3 goals in 45 minutes against a league 1 team last season, who were down to 10 men is truly laughable and a new low for us. Pearson has had long enough to improve results and has failed to do so. Without a change we’re in league 1 next season.
