  1. I went to that game ‘under cover’. Our friend at work was a Wycombe fan and also being female, she didn’t feel safe going to the Swamp on her own so wanted some company. Me and my good buddy (another poster on here) went and kept our mouths very much shut, but we had a great time ? I swear one of Wycombe’s goals was scored by someone with one boot but could be hallucinating. Anyway, afterwards was quite hairy as there were a few City fans there that were much more open about their allegiances shall we say, and obviously it was City's fault that they got relegated, but we managed to get out in one piece eventually. Happy days.
  2. Got to work with what you have though. Id’ve been very happy as a Rotherham fan for that season. Think his football overall is much maligned and unfairly so (not at Rotherham!). When he had decent players at QPR especially and Cardiff to a lesser extent in their early years together they played some really decent stuff. He worked with what he had to get results. Can’t blame him for that.
  3. Whilst I agree it was diabolical, and Halford’s ‘head injury’ nearly made me commit an offence worthy of a sentence it was so bad, you have to admire what he did that year overall - kept them up when they were dead and buried including 11 unbeaten. An amazing achievement
  4. Really good question. Bobby Robson for producing the first England team I fell in love with. Terry Cooper for being a lovely bloke and a City hero (although vast majority of his time managing City was before my time). Simeone for breaking the Spanish monopoly and his shithousery. Pep for his dress sense ?
  5. Imho for him it’s a step up in quality and if he does well it’s a stepping stone to bigger things. Like Bobby at Cardiff. And it’s good for us as well re sell ons hopefully. If he produces (big if granted).
  6. Tbf he’s been one of the best we’ve had this year. That’s how shit they have been!
  7. He’s performed consistently now. Moore has never done that for us imho and it doesn’t sound like he is doing it at his loans either. He looked decent in very very short bursts, especially at the start but never pushed on. Vyner is a much better player imho. Who knows, TM may also become a lot better over time but given they are practically the same age to the day, TM will have to produce quickly and it won’t be here. Credit to Vyner for battling through against the competition.
  8. What would he need to do to convince you?
  9. I think his run of games - undoubtedly due to injuries - has meant he has been able to find his form and through that he’s become more vocal and now seems a real leader at the back. By hook or by crook we’ve found ourselves a gem.
  10. Can confirm. He was absolutely fantastic last night. What’s impressed me most this year is alongside his massive improvement playing wise is that his leading of the back line has been superb. He’s taken control and is a real talker, even when things have gone south a bit. Love him and what a turn around for his career. Just proves some people take longer to develop but was worth the wait.
  11. Cold, starving hungry, but very very happy and a great day out. Up the City!
  12. Fair enough. I go to away games and I don’t recognise any of those chants being made on a consistent basis but not saying that’s not your experience. Just not something I recognise.
  13. Still no one can explain to me what the issue is. If people have paid for a ticket and want to spend 90 mins goading the away fans then who really cares? It’s not affecting anyone. I personally would rather that than what I see more of these days - people just sat there looking at their phones for 90 mins! There is a lot of those people around, that’s for sure and I’m not sure what they are doing to improve any atmosphere.
  14. Are there? Really? If there are I’d imagine it’s a very very very small number. And even if there are why would it bother you? Or anyone else? Pays your money etc etc.
  15. Is it? Well excuse my ignorance then. And as long as they aren’t hurting anyone what does it matter to you or indeed anyone else whether they are ‘eyeballing’ opposition fans (not really sure how they are doing it from 20metres away, especially further up the stand where you can’t even see the away end but there we go) IMO If anyone is ‘weird’ it’s people like you getting completely bent out of shape about our fans trying to produce an atmosphere, coming up with desperate reasons as to why it shouldn’t be allowed.
  16. Can you expand on what you mean?
  17. No one has said that have they?
  18. Yep concede thats also possible but Swansea was a really good atmosphere as well - second half at least! Can’t remember if he mentioned it then. He was very enthusiastic about Saturday.
  19. Why would Pearson mention it? He specifically mentioned the atmosphere and how great it was on Saturday amd how it helped the players. Why would Twentyman and Honor mention it as well? Better atmosphere helps everyone. Whether you can hear it or not is not the issue. It filters around. The more noise the better. Or at least that’s what I always thought.
  20. It would help if you would clarify but appreciate you may not want to.
  21. Yeah I may have used a bit of artistic licence there! But I feel the point remains - the atmosphere since the rebuild has just got progressively worse and is at its lowest ebb. And those trying to actively do something about it should be hugely encouraged like you say. And completely agree it should be done with consideration for others but it should be organic - not some forced, club sanctioned ‘singing area’ like we have already. We don’t need any more of those.
  22. What is making you worried? What do you and everyone else that is so against this think that will specifically happen at Bristol City that doesn’t happen at all grounds that have home and away fans in some kind of close proximity? What can possibly happen they can’t feasibly happen already?
  23. Well I presume you do support Bristol City and I’ve not said you don’t? But you also post about your very keen regard for Millwall - hence my point. I like going to Millwall as well. It’s a proper club. Which is what I want our club to be. A club with a heart and not some plastic happy clappy soulless entity. And I have read your posts. They seem very anti those trying to improve the atmosphere hidden under some veil that everyone doing it must be doing something wrong - which imho is completely your prerogative but a big shame.
  24. On Saturday I walked past at about 2.55pm and there was a big queue coming back down the stairs into the concourse. Must’ve been checking surely or else why the big queue. That’s what I presumed anyway.
