Stoke City at home match thread
milo1111 replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Not against a side like that Stoke side who weren’t the best. Such a lack of quality in the final third from us -
Pebble mill ??what a blast from the past.

Max did the same again today. Shanked one straight to one of theirs about 35 yards out. Does it Almost every game. One day it’ll cost us a goal -

Sad news. RIP Maddy. -
Whether on World Cup duty or not that is nowhere near a full strength bears line up.

I think they will either muscle in on an expanded champions league or reignite the super league idea. Barca and juventus are desperate for that still. The sport of golf has set the precedent.

He was. Sorry . I thought you meant he’d only just managed to set his family up by moving to Saudi.
-
They were already set up for life though as he’d been on £100,000k a week at anfield

That’s why he loved the Johnsons isn’t it?

Let’s be honest Dave , the only managers he has really seriously backed (financially and it terms of losing matches) at this level have had the surname Johnson.

Forget new deals for players….get Nigel signed up now!
milo1111 replied to Shauntaylor85's topic in Football Chat
I think the answer is possibly that the owner is open to selling the club and sees the fact that the manager’s contract is running down as something that any new owners would see as a good thing. -
But that’s why things like this keep happening to them. Unless you start fronting up to your failings, learn from them and try to improve you’ll keep going around in circles. Not all, but too many gas heads think their club is perfect (swallowing all the tripe they are fed) and that things like this happen because everyone is out to get them.

I remember that when I first started going in the 80’s. Absolutely loved that one.

Exactly. For a few years now I feel our game/players eg. Bell and Sykes, has been suited to playing away. When teams sit off of us at AG a bit we really struggle to make any impression at all. It’s dull to watch and I think it has plenty to do with the below par atmosphere .

Swansea City away match thread

To be fair I think most sensible posters knew we had some decent players and a decent manager but we’re asking for a fraction of the Scott money to be spent so we had some strength and depth in the squad.- 844 replies

Very true Mr P ?? Purely down to the riches that exist above I’m sure most will agree. I’m so hoping the Saudi PL changes that over the next few years

It’s lansdowns poor decisions that have meant has had to prop up the club. Especially the decision to let Ashton run wild. The buck stops with him so the fact he has had to pump in millions is his own problem. it’s hardly left him in the gutter has it.
-
Wilson I agree but he wasn’t big money and we quickly cut our losses and moved on. Bajic was a punt who wouldn’t of cost much at all so it’s hardly an Engvall situation. As for anis and cornick , it’s too early to say. Neither have been brilliant but I still think they will get better. We are on a reduced budget so are mainly shopping in leagues one and two. Players such as Sykes, tanner and Atkinson and been superb VFM in my eyes. Dickie, Roberts and Knight looking like being that way as well. overall I would argue Pearson’s signings have been anything but wasteful in the main.
-
Genuine question…. Which players that Pearson has signed would you say he’s wasted money on?
-
Feels to me like he’s lost his mojo and needs to sell up. Fly in the ointment is that he’s lumped us in with Bristol sport which hugely complicates any potential takeover.

Sheridan Robins. Radio Brizz commentator last night
milo1111 replied to Norn Iron's topic in Football Chat
I thought she was pretty good. Like others have said she could of used players names a bit more but for local radio you can’t expect the finished article -
Kane Wilson to Derby - Confirmed

Looks like we had a right touch getting him off the wage bill -
Gas would Dave. Or maybe he is a bit young for them.

That goal by Assombolonga was an ffing joke. He was miles off and Taylor Moore tracked his run but misjudged his header and the ball fell to Assombolonga who scored. Was shocking that it was given
