Swansea City away match thread
milo1111 replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
To be fair I think most sensible posters knew we had some decent players and a decent manager but we’re asking for a fraction of the Scott money to be spent so we had some strength and depth in the squad.- 844 replies

Very true Mr P ?? Purely down to the riches that exist above I’m sure most will agree. I’m so hoping the Saudi PL changes that over the next few years

It’s lansdowns poor decisions that have meant has had to prop up the club. Especially the decision to let Ashton run wild. The buck stops with him so the fact he has had to pump in millions is his own problem. it’s hardly left him in the gutter has it.
-
Wilson I agree but he wasn’t big money and we quickly cut our losses and moved on. Bajic was a punt who wouldn’t of cost much at all so it’s hardly an Engvall situation. As for anis and cornick , it’s too early to say. Neither have been brilliant but I still think they will get better. We are on a reduced budget so are mainly shopping in leagues one and two. Players such as Sykes, tanner and Atkinson and been superb VFM in my eyes. Dickie, Roberts and Knight looking like being that way as well. overall I would argue Pearson’s signings have been anything but wasteful in the main.

Genuine question…. Which players that Pearson has signed would you say he’s wasted money on?

Feels to me like he’s lost his mojo and needs to sell up. Fly in the ointment is that he’s lumped us in with Bristol sport which hugely complicates any potential takeover.

Sheridan Robins. Radio Brizz commentator last night

I thought she was pretty good. Like others have said she could of used players names a bit more but for local radio you can’t expect the finished article -

Looks like we had a right touch getting him off the wage bill -
Gas would Dave. Or maybe he is a bit young for them.

That goal by Assombolonga was an ffing joke. He was miles off and Taylor Moore tracked his run but misjudged his header and the ball fell to Assombolonga who scored. Was shocking that it was given

God this rings so true doesn’t it. when I saw Birmingham own us last week it hit home how stagnant our club has become -
Everything about the club last few years has been screaming a relegation season a la McInnes and SOD. The fact nige has done all the dirty work and had us well safe last season is a bloody miracle in my eyes.

It’s not but it’s stupid and a big gamble.

Is that right that they actually started building this thing before they have planning permission???

Another big away following on the cards

Great post . Our home performances have largely been insipid since well before covid so it’s no wonder. there’s been a few games where wev’e entertained but they’ve been rare. -

Exactly. I think our club have done everything they can to block the things you mention . Ie. Sticking them in the corner which severely hampers the atmosphere. -

Birmingham City at home match thread

Jesus Christ that was dreadful. Couldn’t see any positives out there. Goals are going to be scarce it seems ? -
Been a good game tonight. Really enjoyed it. Kane hit the ground running.

Totally agree. Italy were an utter shambles in that first half, totally there for the taking. They couldn’t string 2 passes together and we sat off them and let them feel their way back into the game. was really poor from us.

Useless Holden as always
-
What are you talking about?? Everyone absolutely adores them.

Never doubted that the guy is well intentioned but he always backs the wrong horse manager wise IMO and gives the good ones less to spend to cover these losses
