  1. Bristol had a scrum and then a penalty right in front of the posts, 6-13 down at the time, they took the 3 points. I struggle to understand the thinking, you will not get a better chance to score a try than in that situation. Surely they would have a set move to use in that specific position, I just don't get the negativity of the coaching team.
  2. The funny thing is, I think there is a link. His Dad signed players on the say so of his uncles I was reading that the Johnson family have 3 members working as scouts. We are going the same way now as GJ final few months.
  3. Here's an article in the NZ herald re Luatua's move to Bristol. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/all-blacks/news/article.cfm?c_id=116&objectid=11800661 plus a little spat between Hansen and Lam! http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11803076 http://www.nzherald.co.nz/all-blacks/news/article.cfm?c_id=116&objectid=11801968
  4. Agree, lets hope we don't find out though!
  5. I just got sent a link by my daughter in law in NZ to show me he had signed. Luatua realises his All Black career is over, he hasn't been pulling up any trees for the last 2-3 years. Which mirrors the Auckland Blues. Hes obviously been offered massive money to come over here. Good player on his day, Bristol need the Luatua from 3 years ago though.
  6. Am I right in saying we are actually playing with 2 ( TWO) wide men today?
  7. I would prefer to see the academy used and lose 8 in a row, than see us spending money like water and still not improving.
  8. SL admitted he took his eye off the ball at the time. Regardless of what happens now in respect of LJ, I don't think I'm the only one who felt we needed an experienced manager when SC left. It seems clear that the more experienced managers/coaches in this league have sussed LJ's limited knowledge out, and he is unable to tactility take us to another level.
  9. The reason it was chaotic when GJ was sacked was simply because he is a manager who never plans for the future. The club was a mess because of him.
  10. I think you will find that the "set style of football" was regarded as 'negative' football by a lot of Brum fans.
  11. What I don't get is, we are constantly gettting told that LJ is a top young coach. If that is the case ( I'm not convinced) then the training ground and not the transfer window should be where he does his work.
  12. Certainly did, the referee was just about to turn away and play on, ( I don't think he could actually see the alleged hand ball because of several players blocking his view) he then took another look at Flint who just stood still and bent over. Flint's reaction definitely influenced the decision. If he had just carried on playing I don't feel the ref would have given the pen!
  13. 1-0 down early away from home, it's becoming predictable. I haven't got the answer, but LJ has to come up with one soon.
  14. Barrow AFC thank you, you have just made a lot of people very happy
  15. Radio Bristol commentator doesn't realise that linesman don't put their flag across their chest anymore for Penalty decisions. This was changed at the start of the season, the Lino 'now' wave the flag and run to the corner flag.
  16. We could have had 100% possession in the second half, it would make no difference. Brighton were content to sit in, defend narrow and say to us can you break us down. I think we have all seen tonight that we haven't got the nous to hurt teams who are happy to defend a lead. Away from home it's a bit different because home crowds won't allow their team to sit on a lead. November's away games will decide which way our season is going to go imo.
  17. Every Championship side will watch this and see that we are incapable of breaking down teams when the opposition defend narrow, Cardiff did the same against us. LJ needs to have a total rethink tactics wise.
  18. Personally I think ( and I said this a couple of weeks ago) GON and Korey are too much the same type of player, both hard workers and decent passers, but very little creativity, Bobby Reid with one of them for me. At least BR asks questions and has the creativity needed in this tight league. Patterson is looking decent as you say, but just for once I would like him to try and get to the byline!
  19. Tammy looks so isolated, when Tomlin drops deep, even more so. With this we find it almost impossible to put any sustained pressure on teams. Somehow we need to find a way of getting in behind teams, Brighton aren't going to come out now though!
