  1. And I support o Driscoll, but not the board, can somebody explain how that makes me a hypocrite ? am I also a hypocrite if I support Bristol city but don't like one of the players ? is it hypocritical to claim to support citg but to prefsr watching reading ( or fgr or whoever happens to be winning ATM ) or do accusations of hypocrisy only apply to t bird.

As far as I can see Kaiser watches Reading sometimes because his boys support them.

I really don't see the problem

One of my boys supports the New Zealand Warriors rugby league side, the last time I was in NZ i went along with him.

Perhaps I'm not a real City fan anymore!!

  2. Frustrating point in the end. Concerned we've not put two decent 45mins together all season. We definitely have been a one half team. SOD needs to work on this IMO

That's fine, but there is a tendency to forget there is another team on the pitch

The opposition coaches and managers are clever enough to change tactics for there own side to counter ours.

  3. Bizarre. Why say this? I've been incredibly disappointed with pretty much every aspect of SOD's reign so far. His relationship with the fans is very poor. As for today, a 3 - 0 win against Dagenham was nice, but the tactics employed were still very questionable.

Yeah, your soooo right, he should have employed different tactics so we could have lost 3-0.

  4. from the BBC

    VIEW FROM THE TRAINING GROUND

Bristol City head coach Sean O'Driscoll on facing his former club:

"It's a terrific club with some terrific people behind the scenes, who have come from non-league and seen massive success.

"When I was there there was a terrific bunch of players who were honest and hard working.

"I was most impressed with the club and I've only got good things to say about it."

    That's good then.

I saw them on tv at Sheffield United this season, they played some really good football.

    Hopefully not tonight though!

  5. Haha talk about gilding the lily! " clenched fists violently gesturing" "swept up in a wave of violence" how sensational and a load of tripe. As nick j stated earlier if they wanted a fight they could have had one by easily running past the stewards, apart from some moronic coin throwing it was all harmless piss taking and posturing by excited kids after a derby win over our bitter rivals. You think I sound pathetic? Listen to yourself you come over like an hysterical old women.

Really derby games are not for you my old petal not with all those testosterone fuelled hoodlums running about, stick to your polishing and dream of the day you can sit side by side with gas fans singing sea shantys and sharing prawn sandwiches

The problem is that the throwing of coins etc is just cowardly.

I've been toe to toe at Football in the past ( I'm not proud of it now) but in that situation it's fair.

But I've also been hit by coins, coin throwing is random, the coin can hit an 8 year old child in the face or a stone island clad macho man.

Anyone who randomly throws coins etc are cowards and deserve to get arrested imo.

  6. Slightly different and no Rovers fans were on the pitch.

I heard on the radio this morning that 50 seats were smashed up. I wasn't aware of City doing this, but we know the Gas did because we have seen the footage.

We also know that some of the seats were thrown at City, so I would guess most of the seat chuckers are on CCTV.

Hard to get off that one I would of thought!

  7. That's a ridiculous approach surely?

They do it all the time now, it used to be that the OB came into the crowd to arrest, it would then kick off big time and the trouble would escalate.

In the 80's and 90's it happened every week.

Now, with CCTV they can do what they have done today.

Ive had more than my fair share of battening in the past when they would randomly hit anyone in the crowd when trying to arrest people.

  8. cant help but feel the OB have given this as much media as possible so as to make them not look quite so bad for the shamefull job they did on the day, remember them announcing the zero tolerence that would be in place on the day !! yet they let people do what they want and failed to control crowds all day long.

yes people have to brought to justice for wrong doings but what about a report into the way the game was policed ? If the police had done therre job properly on the day half of the problems wouldnt have occured!, the 'yellow shirt' bloke was the ultimate example, twice on the pitch for both goals and was allowed to remain in theo stadium to appear on the pitch again at the end!

On your last point, it was pretty clear to me that with yellow jumper spending all that time on the pitch, the Police tactic for the night was to video and arrest later.

That's why, anyone with any savvy kept out of trouble.

  9. We all knew this was going to happen though.

Dawn raids have been happening all over the country for years.

Any football related trouble is treated differently to other offences, it's been the same for 20 years.

We had the same after the 96? Pitch invasion ( chasing the gas players off the pitch) and a lot learnt from that and realised a jail sentence would be next if caught playing up.

It's the way things are done now, like it or not.

In the 80's and 90's we got away with things, it doesn't work like that now, it's a mugs game in 2013.

  10. 21 arrested now, more than 50 seats ripped out the reporter on 5 live just said.

CCTV will catch a lot more than any of us saw.

Personally I've seen a lot worse at Bristol derby's,but it's 2013 and playing up in any form is an arrest able offence nowadays at football.

  11. Portland is right, the club should be looking to encourage more people to buy the kit and so they should be aiming to please the larger majority. I still don't understand why the club doesn't make more robin stuff, like a retro plain red kit with just the robins logo on it.... that would sell loads and would be a great alternative to the Adidas shirts if that's not something our fans want to buy.

Spot on, a plain white t shirt with a large Robin crest on the front would sell thousands imo.

If the club won't do it then someone on here with that bit of nous could make some serious cash.

  12. Half the people voting probably never buy a kit anyway.

So would you not be concerned if the other half that do, don't!

There is big money in kit sales, surely the club realise this.

It's as if the kit designer says, " right, that's a nice shirt, lets just add something to make it look shite"

(As he puts some white armbands on to it)
