I think that SL wants the best for all his teams (on his own terms) and the best for the City and area where he made his fortune. But the one obvious thing for me is the title. I think few would begrudge him Sir Steve for what he’s done in Bristol and his current work in Botswana, a commonwealth country, I suspect a title is becoming quite a factor in his life and I see it as inevitable!! Mistakes at City in the last twenty years have been made, of that there is no doubt, but we have always been that club. Over 60 years it took for 4 lousy years in the top division now another 43 years with nothing. I agree entirely he may have terms that keeps the connection and puts buyers off, for now. Something that may alter slightly based upon an honours list one day.

Personally I think the majority of this thread is garbage with a few basic points being summed up to support an argument one way or the other. The way I see it is, when you are a multi billionaire (or just plain rich guy)that has effectively retired from his day job you have little to do except to entertain yourself. One of the ways Mr Lansdown entertains himself is with a whole package of sports teams that he wants to turn into something great with his name attached! Yes at some point he wants to retire from his retirement and not have to control Bristol Sport particularly rid himself of the whining Bristol City supporters who come on here to tell him he is a failure after they clock out of their job or we have lost on a Saturday, but a seller needs a buyer of some or all of his shares and it seems unless the bloke is going to give it away right now there isn’t one (the success or failure of the Rugby WC may have a baring here) However the one thing SL wants is ‘Sir’ SL to add to his CBE or whatever gong he has, as mere money creation counts for nothing at this point so I reckon we have SL and Jon being associated at the very least with BristolSport unless the title can be associated with a sale I guess we will see!

Many of our fan base are half wits that get ridiculously over the top way after the emotion of the game/loss is in the rear view mirror. He played very well at times today. Defenders are aware of his pace over thirty yards when he has the ball so doesn’t get behind as much, but his running off the ball is excellent and he deserved his tap in for getting himself there and in front of the cross.

Although Guernsey is not part of the UK, it is part of the British Isles and there are very strong economic, cultural and social links between Guernsey and the UK. The people of Guernsey have British nationality and Guernsey participates in the Common Travel Area.

Some of this stuff is interesting. A former Chairman once said to me, Oxo, you can’t fool the supporters for long. However I’m not sure who is being fooled here! Those who think SL has lost interest or those who haven’t got a clue as the only things coming from the club are leaked via club employees for the consumption of the little people on here. In the end the proof of the pudding is the league position and the financial position and as of todays date we look ok!

I find the misunderstanding of money on here quite unnerving, but I always put that down to People have differing skill sets, however a few that I believe are in the industry occasionally worry me much more.

The money in the nice little nest egg would go toward the future costs of building. Bristol Sport is not that complex I would be amazed if he would sell just The Football Club. Despite what some believe. we will see!

Yes it’s often indicative of a club that is close to a sale getting its financials in order while the buyer is conducting due diligence. Not sayin , just sayin!
