  1. Yes I agree with that. Not starting Sykes and Wells was a real issue if anyone is looking to hang anything on Pearson. However if you can’t run pass trap or shoot you have a bigger problem. Im not sure what the issue is, but today was awful all over the field. Despite this very obvious fact Nakhi missed an open goal which would have been a game changer!
  2. I was looking at a team sheet circa 1976. You could show up every week back then and our team would be completely predictable. Injuries happened of course, notably to Cheese, but we, as most, were playing the same 11/12 every week and in cup ties. The amount of injuries you get with the squad double or more the size shows something has changed. I’m not smart enough to know what! Maybe we need more mud?!
  3. Yes for we expats not being on Sky is a good thing as it’s shown on ESPN+ PPV and consequently not ON BCTV.
  4. Anyone who doesn’t think things haven’t changed we’re not going to Ashton gate in the late 60s Yes I hope Pearson gets/wants a New contract soon.
  5. As much as you get on my baps sometimes just being you and your obsession with Danny Wilson (and let’s be fair GJ)you are right in this and a couple of other instances recently We are lucky to have him. I don’t have any confidence that there was anyone else able to unpick “juniors” mess Without relegation. As for the bloke who gave the critique. Nice job. There are a few that still can’t wait for things to go wrong on this forum, but wherever it goes from now the achievements are remarkable. Maybe just maybe having to bumble through the Johnson years was what was required for a brighter future. COYRs
  6. Two country’s with some very deep seated alcohol problems I guess Cheers!
  7. Not the best use of the language. But one takes the point! CMON ENGLAND ???????
  8. I’ve never felt real hatred. However there is a metaphoric hatred of each others sports teams. I’ve never known a single fight because someone was English or Australian. I really can’t say that about <insert country here>
  9. ? I obviously need to take more notice of people’s names.
  10. I have no clue who Tony Wilkins is, but old footage is lazy and unacceptable for our only show! Is my thought.
  11. Agree to disagree mate! Without fan input it was a load of already released sound bites , interviews and archive material. You have to actually have supporters and opinions otherwise laziness creeps in! This week it was the sound of the already broadcast, plus the girl at BCFC Women!
  12. I may be jumping the gun a bit as whatshisname has to bed in so to speak. But it was packed full of Alex Scott moments and interviews we have already heard vis a vis Pearson, Skuse and James. I’m always good with The interviews with the ladies team players and stuff, as it’s going on around the club and most of us are thrilled they are doing so well, but that was the only mildly interesting bit this week and probably went on a bit to long. I often shift my day around so I can hear it on the Monday at least, so perhaps I have just been spoiled with GT for as long as we remember, but for the love of god, Forever Bristol City makes that looks third rate (no disrespect meant to @headhunter et al at all there) Perhaps they should takeover the Monday evening slot on Radio Brizz. Anything but that garbage again!
  13. If I was his manager and he admitted it was a penalty I would find him two weeks wages. That would be my job. However it clearly was and everyone will forget about it in a few days.
  14. The referee didn’t give it and the VAR bloke decided not to make him review it is the short answer. The long answer it was a bad original decision. But referees have become dependent on VAR officials to review and recommend. The VAR guy completely wrongly didn’t think the decision was clearly and obviously wrong. He was completely and utterly wrong in that decision. Two bad decisions compounded and yet again favoring Man Utd at home, which most of us are used to. I think I said up the thread there is IMO an underlying issue of referees giving benefit to the team that is perceived to be bigger. To be frank I’m sick of it across the Premier league and to some extent in favor of relegated clubs in our division. Nigel Pearson would typically be the first to say that, but gave up. In order for City to get a penalty last season a player had to rugby tackle one of ours. I’m sure there are quite a few other clubs who feel the same.
  15. Bigger clubs get favorable decisions. I don’t think it’s overt but I do think referees give major decisions way to often to the bigger club, in their head! I only said this to Mrs Oxo the other day. Horrifying how foul throws are being let go. I’m not sure it’s particularly corrupt until it comes to the money slopping around. But bad decisions are now highlighted and in some cases not corrected. Last night was akin to an assault
  16. I was thinking more about atmosphere. It poured today, but the pitch held up well. Who knows about tomorrow mind you.
  17. I’m just going to have to put you on ignore now! Certainly anything you say about how City spend money is tainted permanently! Did she pay for the honeymoon if she did at least you got your holiday!
  18. England have made the semi finals without really getting going! It’s going to be hot in there tomorrow and an early onslaught is inevitable, but I’m confident. As an aside Alexi Lallas keeps saying anyone but England on Fox. I hope they are showing the players his comments on the insufferable English!
  19. It was a surprise to me too when I read the thread. But did the Watney Cup actually count as a full first team fixture. It was always a bit of a preseason excuse of a tournament!
  20. I was at that one too. See my comment above!
  21. Clive Whitehead made his league debut at Millwall. We won 2/0, scorers Whitehead (from about a yard) and Bobby Gould. Had a conversation with him about it once.
