We seemed reluctant to boot it until we conceded a goal by giving the ball away. They were fitter stronger and faster and clearly wanted it more than our players did…who wanted to play at their own tempo. We were pony for the entire game but particularly in the first half.

Not sure about Cornick yet, however Paul Cheesley was written off (abused) by supporters until he scored a screaming header weeks after his transfer from Norwich. We will see whether Mr Pearson was right in due course.

Who we do and don’t get is going to be very dependent on what is happening with our U21s etc etc etc. we have had in the last 18 months ConwAy Bell and Scott come through the academy to be essential first teamers. Who next, who knows, but there are three or four that have to do something soon. The three lads on the bench on Saturday are obviously close and who knows about Joe Low and Idehen. BY says three in maybe four if Scot goes. This tells me they are prepared to bring more through from the academy and add to it. Another wild card is who we get offers for that’s not Scott and who we retain from the OOC group.

Massengo never developed much past the player he was when he arrived. No one knows here who did or didn’t come in for him until this transfer window unless they work at the club. However he has gone and it gets my vote. I hope he turns it on and does well, but his future was never going to be at Bristol City as he just didn’t add enough!
