  1. Well done son! Hopefully that’s worth money to us!
  2. I like the bloke. He comes across as a decent bloke when ever I hear him interviewed and he has habit of mentioning us. The only regret in football he has is not managing us. Fair play to the fella!
  3. I was told today that there is something in this. So I guess we have hit solid rumour status!

    Weimann

He’s been doing that for years. It was as if players were told not to look for him until Pearson came.
  5. Yes I think you are right. Was anonymous today apart from the gift for their second. Hopefully he’ll have a good one next week, but today we looked better without him, by some margin
  6. We didn’t. Johnson and Ashton did. Ably supported by Steve!
  7. Mark Ashton is not fully responsible for his abject failure, pushing us to the very brink of FFP infractions with a bloated squad on huge wages that the Club could not afford. He was ably assisted by Lee Johnson and over saw by Mr Lansdown! You put a manager with insignificant experience and aN inflated view of his own ability (he predicted Europa League in five years that haunted his consistent failure) an owner/majority shareholder that would openly state my money my choice (this is only partially true, the club had to generate money to stay within the rules, thus this is a choice made that would allow the club to get aboard the fast track to failure) and a bloke who would happily negotiate ridiculous contracts at enormous cost to placate the former However in his case what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and Ipswich have benefited by his experience, particularly as he was not enslaved by limitless money and a child who wanted a new toy every week. Ipswich town is a completely different kettle of fish financially, its division, its owners resources and in view of its personnel, which is an obvious better fit for him now than he was here then.
  8. Bryan can play in a number of ways and positions. His value is his versatility! Ive not really seen much of him for the last season or two, but if there is anything in this then Mr Pearson thinks he is still very decent. Money is always an issue, however as someone rightly said if he comes he will be within the wage structure and to be frank it’s common knowledge he struggled personally away from Bristol.
  9. If on the last day their was any chance with five to go of Cardiff going down If QPR score I wouldn’t be bothered If they did. Now that would be a party (watch this space)
  10. I get out way to much to listen to this tripe or care!
  11. And I don’t give those away lightly!
  12. Well done to the boy! Big game against Burnley.
  13. The utter knobbers at FA player have gone to adverts rather than show the presentation! FFS!
  14. It’s a big pitch a lot of cramp
  15. Not sure, but they were talking about giving a kit and boots if it got to 7500 so must be close….City look comfortable at the moment….famous last words I know! yeeeesss 3/0
  16. And it’s live on FA PLAYER
  17. I live by and large in The USA. It is amazing the amount of people who watch this show. Strangely The Sunderland show was very popular here too. The Wrexham series comes on top of Ted Lasso, which is a phenomenal hit here as well, which has helped. Wrexham is viewed as kind of a feel good rags to riches story, with Sport being slightly secondary, like Lasso. What ever people in the UK think, it has put the promotion relegation hierarchy of global football right on the map a concept that bizarrely does not exist in a country that sees itself as a meritocracy. The idea that the Chicago Bears could get relegated to be playing the Des Moines Doo Dabers (made that up) is completely alien, as the ownership of the clubs and the league is intertwined in all major sports here. Thus people tune in for the gut wrenching experience of promotion and relegation as it’s new. Of course the Hollywood guy (who has multiple businesses and is in the process of selling one for shit tonnes) and the tv guy are part of the hook and were originally the main part, but there are now other hooks. WAR GODS WAY OF TEACHING AMERICANS GEOGRAPHY! Most people here don’t have a passport and many never leave their own state, living hum drum working class lives and the idea of a crappy bar and a chip van has resonance! With a sprinkling of stardust or a slice of luck a lot can change and create something to hang onto. That is the Wrexham story here and Ryan Reynolds (who is super smart what ever anyone thinks) knows it Wrexham have supporters clubs popping up all over the place and The club and the City are inundated with Americans many of whom are taking their first trip abroad to see a an industrial wasteland () I get some at home are anti, but most of those are just that with anything. The massive influence that Lasso and Wrexham have had here and the fact Premier League football is live and free and now championship football is broadcast on ESPN+ has changed the culture of Saturday/Sunday mornings and Tuesday/Wednesday at 2pm is brilliant on so many levels. Even the Welsh government are getting in on the act and throwing money at repairing “the oldest international stadium in the world”…Jobs, something to be involved in and a general feel good factor is not limited to a small town that has not had a lot of luck since before Maggie Thatcher
  18. I’ve mentioned the Cheese 500 times…The utter shite talked about him after he joined was mind numbing. Cornick has done well recently the fact he got his foot over a sitter was far more annoying for him than me. But I like him!
  19. I watched from my living room in the colonies. To judge the assistant officials is difficult while looking through the keyhole. The referee well….He didn’t want to give a decision that would somehow impinge on Rotherham relegation battle. Or was just a third rate referee. On the other hand he was going to even up decisions, which we touched upon briefly. It’s covertly an issue. Mr Pearson says it’s pointless reporting officiating “inconsistency” week after week although I suspect City do whether NP gets particularly involved or not. A solid 4, which is probably enough to get a promotion.! Edit Having watched it several times ConwAy was a penalty. He was being pulled back and was in on goal and a striker in form. There was no point in going down. However if that’s not a Peno then the one which was given wasn’t. But as I said somewhere what the forward did is exactly what Scott does every week five times a match, back is bum in and go down like he’s been pushed. We’ve got to get better at buying gamey penos. The right result which may count for the ref when the incidents are reviewed.
  20. No one needs to be elbowing anyone. But we have to toughen up and give as good as we get. Pearson keeps saying it and he is right. Nice job!!
  21. Some comments do stay with posters here don’t they! However I suppose Gary Johnson is managing in the conference and Matt Smith isn’t as good as he was!
