  1. John’s family lived two streets from me growing up on Bushy Hill near Guildford. There were about 500 Chelsea fans at primary school. One Bristol City fan as well RIP John! I was only chatting about you at the weekend!
  2. One or two on here think it’s out of the question. Personally I don’t. I guess we will see.
  3. I was behind the goal right in line with Gerry when he hit it! I once asked him if he handled it and he told me unequivocally no. But went on, the ball was a little under my feet (which it definitely was) so I couldn’t get much back lift. As some might remember Gerry didn’t need a lot of back lift to the point he would take free kicks and penoes without a run up, thus we were lucky it fell to him that night, starting our promotion run. For the record Gerry Gow scored the other and if I remember correctly both of their goals were from crosses that sailed over Ray Cashleys head.
  4. As the editor of The Sun once said, you are a Bristol City supporter through thin and thinner. We are now an established Championship club and established as the biggest club in Bristol (some May laugh but we were always losing to Rovers in the 80s and 90s) and the biggest club in the SouthWest and as far East as Reading. Thus there is a lot of upside. However the lack of top flight football is annoying and yes I do believe that the local mindset plays a part along with a load of other issues.
  5. Horrifying! I was just reading the beeb and saw what this utter scum was wearing! At least he has his day in court. I hope the book is firmly thrown at him on every level!
  6. Without doubt SOD inherited a mess and what a mess! Yes he did lay some foundations and you can make a comparison about what Pearson is doing. Just about. Pearson himself knows he had a season and a half free hit kicking out the utter dross inherited, however not only were we awful under ODriscoll we went down without a fight and were near or close to bottom in league one when he got fired. ODriscoll failed in his remit. Yes circumstances were different, but there we are! Cotterill had a good eye for a player, GJ was good at getting players to play above themselves. LJ was good at spending money frivolously and I think Dean Holden would have done better if the academy was turning out players like it is now. In life, the more you know the luckier you get, that’s worth remembering. I suppose my overarching comment is the pattern of backing managers, failing and then Bringing in blokes that either have to unpick everything or feel it’s their job to erase the previous managers successes. Pearson got lucky with Scott etc etc and bought decently. But coming in he knew what he had, a talent stream that no one else had or could not utilize.
  7. Just texted mates at Rangers. There thoughts are they would drive him to AG
  8. Rangers are brasic. They have to sell
  9. Exactly! I don’t understand what some don’t understand! God I hate early June
  10. I agree. But we were a bit crap! It’s pretty obvious why so many clubs are preparing to pay an oil shieks ransom for someone
  11. I don’t understand why that’s not obvious to so many!
  12. I hate post season!
