As you know people at high level in business talk to gain perspective and maybe even a little advice about associated areas that are not core competencies, which I think fits the bill here. FBC had a great poddy yesterday, however I also really enjoyed tonight’s show! The comments made by Colin in the interview they played, regarding the only place he wants to be hated is (or words to that effect) Bristol City were outstanding. I think Ian is saying that it’s a tight league with little between the bulk of the teams. I’ve seen quite a bit of good football and games are tight, so perhaps the word average is a little out of context. Or perhaps it’s meant as a barb, that we are sixteenth in an average league, who knows! A lot on the poddy has been said about who is coming down v who is going up and increased difficulty. I don’t really see a big difference with the usual suspects flirting with relegation and Sheff Wed with there biggish crowds possibly getting promotion. One thing for certain if we don’t make a mad dash for a play off spot and go up this season we look as though we are nicely placed for next.

Yes it was pouring rain. The season before or after we beat them 2/1 I think. We did a corner routine and Geof Merrick had the ball cleared off the line. From the resulting corner we did it again and Geoff scored. I think Terry Neil was playing for them.

Watched the Man U game with the paddy on again. The best one I can remember. Having Chris on gives it so much more balance and in general people are more polite and calm. Great talking points too! For my tuppence are we good enough to go on a run? I would say yes. Will we be happy when we have the newly adjusted 53 points? yes. The next four games in the league are winnable so keeping my fingers crossed for an exciting end to the season, hopefully in the top half!

Mehmeti is obviously a good player. I think he does need to be a bit smarter in playing the ball to one of ours. However he had a great 70 minutes or so!

Which was the task he was given, while getting the huge wages off the books and changing the culture. This team doesn’t know when it’s beaten and continues to find something. It’s not just about todays game is it!?

I haven’t seen any of the QPR game, however my mate a season ticket holder at Rangers tells me they are in free fall and there is a real fear they will be in a relegation battle if something doesn’t change quickly. Sunderland are challenging and are decent and we will have to be at it to compete no doubt. However our ability to counter attack a team that plays with the high press is decent enough particularly if Wells Bell and Sykes play. The big miss is Naismith, who makes us look so much better when in midfield, but what are you going to do!? Someone else’s chance I guess. Looking forward to it. It’s a shame about the Wigan result as I reckon quite a few more would have gone.

It’s an interesting one. Ball retention v counter attacking intent. I would go with Bell from the start with Wells, but hey who knows. What is obvious is we have a good squad and players to come back. Exciting it is!
