  1. I could see him being a regular for Newcastle or Brighton. They’re both after midfielders this summer.
  2. I think it’s blindingly obvious we’re missing Naismith and his ability to pass through the lines. It’s no coincidence the goals have dried up since he got injured IMO.
  3. Their keeper made several good saves, especially in that first half, tonight. While the goals from open play are a concern, at least we’re showing intent and creating chances. I always look back to the dark days under Holden, when we weren’t having a single shot on goal let alone target, for reference.

    Tuesday night

    I’d go with a 4-1-4-1 tomorrow: ——————O’Leary———— Tanner—Vyner—Pring—Dasilva ——————James————— Sykes—-Scott—-Weimann—Mehmeti ———————Wells—————
  5. Not only has Nige said the culture is now right to bring in loanees, but we tried to get the Palace CB on loan in January. So a big fat ‘yes’.
  6. I agree Bell is a problem playing on his own through the middle. At this stage of his career, he needs to play on either flank or not at all IMO. He needs to fill out before he’s considered for the lone striker role. Depending on the extent of the injuries to Kalas and Williams, as soon as Conway is fully fit again he has to start in a two with Wells again. We should then build the side from front to back around those two like we did at the start of the season. That might mean a 4-4-2 with Mehmeti and Sykes wide of any combo in the middle, a diamond with those two wide plus James sitting and Scott or Weimann as a 10, or reverting to a back three with Tanner, King and Pring. The latter is far from ideal, but I can’t see any other option for Huddersfield.

Nah, mate. They should be playing in the League of Wales, along with Swansea, Newport and any other Welsh side.

Mine too. 2,700 of us penned in. Losing 1-0 at the break, at which point Sam Hamamm and his bodyguards did some weird lap of honour while they were all giving it the big ‘un. Thought I’d broken my ankle celebrating our equaliser, but the pain miraculously went seven minutes later when the third flew in! Then, those dozy ***** tried to get at us after (despite it being a bubble) ?

Doesn’t happen very often, mind. I can safely say after living in BS7 for three years, I never saw a gas shirt outside of a matchday (and I saw plenty of City shirts on the common as well!) I’ve never had any time for Cardiff, going back to the 3-1 win over there when Murray got his brace and we were pelted with coins and piss. Sad bunch of *****, generally.

    Playoffs

I don’t see how SkyBet can have us at 33/1 to finish in the top six and have Luton 8/13. I get that’s where punters’ money is going, but we could be ahead of them if we win our next four. Talk of the play-offs is unlikely, but stranger things have happened and I’d rather Nige dangled that carrot to stop the players coasting into the summer. That’s all this is, for now.

    Playoffs

Nine points from the next three - Cardiff, Huddersfield and Blackpool - would certainly make it very interesting, especially ahead of a trip to Luton ?

    Kalas

That’s the problem, though. I could easily see him getting a pay rise at a Fulham, Brighton, Brentford etc or in the Middle East. We shall see, but I’m with you in saying I’ve always rated him and hope he stays.
  13. Just like Bristol, their city is red!

    Kalas

Yep, I’ve been saying that for a while. Kalas is our best defender and I’d like to think conversations are under way on a new deal. That said, he’s at an age where his next contract should be his biggest, and I doubt we can compete with that.
  15. Said on the matchday thread, Pring didn’t put a foot wrong tonight. He was outstanding.
  16. Proud of the boys tonight. They put in one heck of a shift, but the gulf in quality shone through in the end. Scott, Kalas and Pring came out tonight particularly well IMO.
  17. Well, I wasn’t wrong. And look at their bench as well. That must’ve cost a few hundred million!
  18. Just heard Pep’s going full strength tonight. Foden and De Bruyne both start; don’t know whether it’s Haaland or Alvarez up top, though
  19. I’m with you on this. Tonight is a free hit to nothing and if we pull it off, it will go down as arguably the best win in our history. All I’m hoping for us to give a good account, no new injuries and for Scott and Williams to avoid a booking. Anything else is a bonus, albeit a bloody BIG one.
  20. Wonder where the woodland is that he bought last year ?
  21. Exactly this. I’d love to think we could gatecrash the top six this season, but I think those games we should’ve won v Sheff Utd, Watford and Swansea might be where we fall short. But there’s no doom or gloom here as this is great momentum to take into next season and really have a go for the top six in 23/24.
  22. Without doubt, Vyner’s most improved player of the year and he’s in contention for POTY but he’s not a shoo-in IMO. I never thought the penny would drop with him at this level, but I love to eat humble pie and fair play to him.
