    Bitter and Twisted?

I wish them nothing but bad luck.
Nepotism will hold them back just like it did when they lost to Hull - that queer Lansdown/Johnson love in, and I wish their families many more years of happiness together.
Their pompous arsed fans talking about "strategy" and "vision" just because they have struck lucky on a few sales over the past couple of seasons.
Banging on about the ever increasing value of their squad forgetting that they all cost a fortune in wages so better had be increasing in value, particularly when they have players who never or very rarely feature who are also costing a relative fortune.
Funny that they fail to mention those isn't it.
They can dress it up any way they like but Uncle Steve will not keep swallowing £25m losses if that used car salesman manager of his keeps choking when it gets to the sharp end of the season and his inadequacies come to the fore, and they run out of players who are worth anything.

    .....much?

Awww - sad thing is that we don't have to wish bad luck on them - they manage it perfectly well themselves.

I'm heavily in the minority I'm sure of those that would bloody love them to scrape up by the skin of their teeth....

Would be epic to watch them take the plunge with a record low points total for the Championship - bring it on!!

I'd love to see them scrape up in the play off final - and then miss out on any chance of closing that gap as we win our play off final the following day!!

Don’t think it’s that simple - there wouldn’t be enough capacity on the line to actually run matchday trains.

oh and A&S are absolutely against it and don’t want to have to police it

You're having a laugh.......public transport with the capacity to meet public demand? Public services that provide services the public need. Whatever next?

There are far more important things the public needs its money spent on. The bottomless pit that is Brexit. Tax cuts for the rich. Dozens more members of the House of Lords to fund. These are the things that matter.....

...or simply wait for the hover transportation system to arrive ........we don't need roads!..or rail !  (Sorry John)

Tele-portation will have become the norm before Bristol gets a joined up public transport system.

  5. I read recently that North Somerset Council are now giving "serious consideration" to residents parking zones, and particularly mentioned were Long Ashton and Leigh Woods.

So we'll have a 28000 seat venue that's virtually surrounded by RPZs in both Bristol and NS, a metrobus system that passes the ground but doesn't run when half our games are played and (by its own admission) wasn't designed for that amount of use, a huge car park at the P&R that for some reason can't be opened, and now a rail line that will run right past the ground but won't stop.

If SL still owns Ashton Vale, how about a huge car park and shuttle buses?

May be of interest to some on here (especially @Never to the dark side )

This is the presentation that was given by Peter Maliphant the Membership Secretary of the Portishead Railway Group at a recent meeting with North Somerset council https://www.portisheadrailwaygroup.org/The Next Four Years.pdf

Also the full report to the council following that meeting http://apps.n-somerset.gov.uk/cairo/docs/doc29672.pdf

Blimey! Just reading that report makes you wince! If Brunel had had to live with that I reckon the GWR would never have got further than Saltford.

Oh dear oh dear! The level of paranoia here suggests a need for some sort of medical intervention. And the sense of entitlement beggars belief. If you want to get a better ground, become a better team, then get on and do something about it yourself, and deal with the obstacles. Just like SL did (the whole Village Green thing being one such example). Don't whine and expect everyone else to sort it out for you. And certainly don't expect another sporting set up in the vicinity to hold back on its ambitions.

To be serious for a moment, I don't really go along with the constant slating of refereeing standards. Of course mistakes are made, much in the same way a player makes several wrong decisions in a game, so will a ref.

However, refs jobs are made infinitely more difficult by players cheating, and when I say cheating , I mean pretty much for a whole game, players will try and get an edge by fouling, diving or whatever. If players stopped cheating, we would get better referees. But that might not be as much fun either :)

Easy for you to say, the day after a ref has given you half a game against 10 men and added on sufficient extra time necessary for you to snatch a winner!!!!

    Happy Christmas Miah!

Our performance has been covered elsewhere but how the hell do we do consistently get such poor officials at the mem? I remember reading sone time ago (probably on here) that referees going up the leagues or being fast tracked are given our home games so that assessors can see how they react to (relatively) large crowds. If that's the case now then I feel it is working against us as they try to show they are not biased - that's the only way I can explain the idiot 'in charge' yesterday. Even the assistants didn't have a hat so how could they see when facing the sun. The fact that we had no officials at the world cup to and says a lot too

So, they think that the reason they're not doing so well this year is because referees are trying not to be biased....??
