Hull City v Bristol City Match Day Thread 19
italian dave replied to havanatopia's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Spot on NR! Interesting to read through this thread - and if you can't bother to read the whole lot, have a look back at page 8. -
Usually quite positive, but I've got a horrible feeling about today. I think it will all go wrong, not just us losing but others around us all have winnable games today, and I can just see us losing 3 posts on Blackburn, Forest Birmingham and Burton toady. Being positive, I've generally been wrong this season, so hoping that continues. COYR

Locked out, of course!

A bit unfair I think. The second half was always going to be a different game: we needed a slower pace, sit a bit deeper and catch them in the break. Our first half was very high tempo and energy and as players tired there's every reason to make changes: it's not about 'throwing in the towel'. For 10 minutes they threw everything at us and the plan worked. Like you, I had visions of Reading and Cardiff when they got their first. But what I also know is that if Matt Taylor hadn't contrived to miss from half a yard then we would have won that game. That came soon after their first and would have been exactly what we needed to settle our nerves and ruffle theirs and their fans again. That was nothing to do with game plans, substitutions, and its something no-one can legislate for. I also knew that when they got their third with time to spare that we'd lose. But we didn't!

I'm not sure if you're intending to be ironic, apologies if you are. I'm not "blaming" anyone: that's the whole point. All the energy and passion that's spent trying to apportion blame, which doesn't really serve any useful purpose, is what I'm talking about. Might only be small % on here, that's not the point. I'm just making the observation.

I think we're doing ok. Definitely more movement in midfield with Pack and Reid in there. We've created chances, always going to be playing on the break here and we just need to move it a little bit quicker. They've had chances too but for the most part we have coped well, mags has won everything in the air. Donaldson's runs worry me though,

Oh yeah, agree: all I'm saying is it was one of the first (if not the first without pillars?). Sure it became the standard design, but maybe in 5 years everyone will be putting up Lansdown stands!!!
-
The Dolman was anything but "standard build" at the time it was built. One of the very first with no pillars, multi purpose (bowls) etc. It was way ahead of its time. Just that it was built a long time ago, and that time has has passed and moved on since!

Crap league.

That's not tempting fate, Miah, that's a statement of the bleedin' obvious! You always do it! All the way back down the M4 yesterday we were telling the radio 5 commentators that Accrington were not "up, at 0-0"!

Hang on....who's the 'little man' here. I though Rovers were the third richest club in the country???
-
Rovers have said a lot of things throughout this whole saga. Very few of them have turned out to be right.....
-
Or, put another way, the higher up the league the better the attendances, for both clubs, and we are normally higher up the league.....
