anaesthic!!! He is thick more like!!!!

I had a little look and it is repugnant.  I had to get out off it quickly.

Dear oh dear - and this was once a family club, apparently.

Really? It was meant with humour. I actually follow the bloke on youtube.

Maybe the new, 'I'm offended by everything world' is something I thought OTIB had seen through? If you're genuinely offended by a picture, a PICTURE I despair.

PC gone mad! i'm back to reading only.

    Oh yeah, Johnson out!

Predictably that did entice an anti-PC rant, then.

You think suicide jokes are cool, that's fine but you're then outraged because somebody else doesn't?

Who's really being the over-sensitive one, here?

No problem with mocking the blue few, but a bit low making fun of someone suffering from ACNE.

Yeah, I had it pretty bad in my early-mid teens.  No fun at all, especially at that age.

To be fair, it doesn't seem to have effected his self-esteem very much, but who really knows?

I do suggest we don't do it.

    Did you think?

I was unsure - it seemed impossible to tell - the shadow (literally) casted doubt on it.  The benefit of any doubt goes to the bowler apparently, so out for me.

I can not believe the turnabout in fortunes from the first test, it's made for a far more interesting game though.  England are right up against it, so can test their steel.

With all due respect to amateur clubs, reading that it's like they're an amateur club.

Of course thieft is wrong but that sounds to me like they may've had to put the players subs up by a fiver to cover the loss, sending a note home to the parents to explain.

Dopey for the Villa job tomorrow?       You heard it here first  :gasmask:

Oddly enough, if there's someone associated with them professionally I have got a degree of sympathy with it is Darrell Clarke.   He reminds me of John Ward.  Hopefully for his own sake he moves on soon.  I've met Darrell     Clarke and he really is not dopey.

"Bit of a shame to once again be posting about bad news,

Some of the veterans kit from Sunday which was lent to me by Rovers has gone "missing" it was all counted up and put in the kit bag by myself and Phil Bater and all was present, only upon returning it to Rovers today it's become apparent that we are missing no fewer than 7 shirts and 12 pairs of shorts, it would appear someone has been in the dressing room and took it.

Mangotsfield have CCTV that they will be checking tonight so it's likely the culprit will be found, it's quite simple really if you have taken this kit return it before you are caught and we will say no more about it.

Also if anyone seen anything or knows who has decided to take something from a charity day please get in touch.
Share away please so as many as possible see."

Phil Bater is another chap me and a gas head mate at the time, as a teenager, happened to meet personally.  I have to say he was very good with us as teenage lads, even with me being City.  Kieron Bracken was another Memorial Ground player that was a professional and a gentleman, who I had the pleasure to meet.

It does not surprise me that it's descended into scandal since the Pirates have had to do their dirty work to survive since, don't get me wrong!

It's odd the same 13 year old gas head mate came along to us in 1994 just for a night out.  Lost 2-0 to Peterborough.  We still took the piss out of each other but we were just kids.  It all got a bit more serious with the 0-2 Beadle game, aged 15.

Is there any chance we can re-title the thread 'The Gift List'?

It may also hopefully help sags that do assume we're obsessed to actually, finally, understand where we come from.

They are even under the Urban Dictionary definition of Tinpot.....

''Last Tuesday night we was away to tinpot Bristol Rovers and as usual we was confined to the open terraces of the East Stand, exposed to the pissing rain and lashing winds. It was grim as ****, made only worse by the excuse of a football game we witnessed along with 3,000 other miserable fans.'' - said the fan of equally tinpot Southend United to his mate.

    Bit harsh on Southend.

Unless you've missed it, there hasn't been proper 'rivalry' for years. Because you simply haven't been good enough, both on and off the pitch.

And if you don't like the fact that we're light years, and i mean light years, in front of you and that makes it boring for you, then do the decent thing - MOVE!

Anyone, yet again, would be lead to believe that it is someone else's fault the sags haven't been able to provide a proper rivalry for 17 years, wouldn't they?  This now apparently makes Bristol "even more boring".

That's today's instalment of #gaslogic for us:- it's always someone else's fault, from failing to beat 10 men in 84 minutes to Bristol being boring due to no football rivalry.

Why stop at 20000, plan big and aim for the stars !

Wael commented that the Mem site is exactly the same as that for Evertons 40,157 Goodison park.
which has a record attendance of over 78,000 !....imagine that on Filton avenue .
Goodison has housing right around the ground.

The amateurism continues from the top, then.

Everton are planning to move (have a site, planning permission, finance, no NIMBY opposition) because Goodison Park is cramped and is from a bygone age.  There would be no planning permission and overwhelming NIMBY opposition if they set out to use the site to expand or build from scratch on now, in 2017.

The housing has sprung around the stadium over the last 100+ years, it did not happen in vice-versa.

Besides, Everton would not be stupid or desperate enough to want to do such a thing.  Ideas were actually mooted to redevelop the site before their genuinely wealthy financial backer arrived but deemed a complete non-starter.

It's a desperately poor attempt to clutch at straws by Wael, if that's what he's said.

Anyone remember the ol' "no-one will talk about Bristol Rovers anymore" from Lansdown?

How's that going for ya, Steve?

I sometimes feel a bit detached from the hierarchy and corporate side of things at AG these days but that comment from SL was a great leveller for me!  Despite his wealth and level of responsibility, Stevie L still has the time to put the boot into the gas.

To be fair to Harleyhas this a fair post rather than a "cracker"? I sense a lot of genuine Gashead feel the same following the news the UWE was dead, the real danger is we become the Port Vale to your Stoke, I think most genuine Bristolian football fans would sooner a bit of rivalry than one totally dominant club like is now the case in the Potteries.

We've now had just about a whole generation for genuine Bristolian football fans (whatever you mean by that, most I know are either genuine City or genuine R*vers fans) to get used to having no real rivalry due to the chronic incompetence of Bristol R*vers.

They only put that statement out as the collapse (on Rovers side) of the deal was leaked. If it were not for that I'm sure they would have continue to keep schtum.

If this were us I think we, in the main, would be hounding Wael for truthful answers - I suggest they are probably that the deal 'fell through' because he does not personally have a pot to piss in let alone enough money to buy R*vers a new ground, that he was naively swindled by Nick Higgs after the Sainsbury's withdrawal and that he wrongly believed this football malarkey would be a walk in the park.

I think we would be demanding justice and truth no matter how uncomfortable for us it may be.

Justice and truth are not R*vers virtues, though.  Spin and lies are their currency.

They have made their own bed.

on another note, dont get to happy about stadiums, Brentford and Burton both have rubbish stadiums yet still on paper and last year on evidence are a better team than us!

    Were Burton better than us????

It does show that if a smaller club than us is ran superbly well, it can over-achieve for a short while and fair play to them for that.

It's not a threat we've had from R*vers for a very long time!

But a complete demolition isn't likely as they would have to move somewhere else for a few years. With that in mind, why would anyone want to let them in to share a ground with their record?

They'd end up claiming squatters rights once they'd realised they couldn't afford to pay the demo crew and had nothing but a patch of land left. They're like a bad smell once they get in, you end up losing your ground in the process.

Inflation alone without the "brexit" effect would push it up to the cost of ours. They ain't got the money. To be fair I couldn't care less, just shows them up for what they are, a laughing stock.

A complete demolition and re-build  to UWE spec would have to involve rotating the pitch 90degrees and shifting it up into the car park at the Muller Road side of the current ground.  My caveat is that I am no architect but I don't need to be to see that there is bugger little space.

Even then it'd be a tight squeeze, if possible at all.

    Then there's the £25m (?) to find.

Their more realistic option is to simply knock down the stand opposite the Cricket pavilion and build as gert a size stand as they can in its place.  Then tart the rest of the place up as well as possible.

The problem we have rebuilding the Atyeo they have with the tent end, the cricket pavilion and probably their home end as well.

I was trying to work out what their big day out will be, do they even have one? Fancy criticising us for achieving a standard of away trip they can only dream of.

It's a bit like a 4 Yorkshire men sketch "Reading? You are lucky, we go to Gillingham on wet Tuesday night in January"

Ewood Park maybe?  A ground we've been to four times in four years, and one of our least appealing fixtures in that time, will undoubtably cause frenzied excitement for the club looking down their noses at Barnsley!

Not entirely certain what your intention was when you started posting on here, if it was to engage in some reasoned debate, constructive points of views even opposing points of view to stimulate and promote conversation of a slightly higher level than slagchat or whatever it's called, then you have failed spectacularly....just like the club you follow.

    #howlongaleagueclub?

He's held with suspicion and regarded with contempt amongst his own on Asschat.  A bit like Henbury Gas, his own lot would rather be rid of him I think.

He then comes on here but not with any shred of decency like the other resident sags, more like a squirming worm.

So it's difficult to know his motives entirely but he's obviously one of life's eternal unfortunates.

Probably a squat, bald, middle aged virgin.
