  1. Are you spelling phanetically, phonetically?

In order to cheer myself up, I just think of last season's swindle match. It puts a smile on my face every time. As does the resulting song.

No, 'phonetically' spelt phonetically would be 'fonetically'.  'Phanetically' - there is no excuse for but does explain why I didn't bother attempting Swenenberg correctly!

Anyway, back to the point:- COOOOOMMMMMEEEEEEEEE OOOOOOOONNNNNNN YOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUU REEEEEEDDDSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!

  2. As the other thread got locked, I wrongly assumed that this one was ran by sensible, politically correct people. Like a back lash.

    How bloody wrong I was!

Still maintain that R*vers biggest purpose is to provide us with a sense of superiority. Them resenting this is ironic an all their own doing.

  3. So, what are we going to call them ?

They call us 82ers, because according to them, we have been a league club since 1982.

Using the same logic, they have been a league club since 2015.

    Therefore, I propose the 15ers.

You are being a bit to rational.

We have this odd, delusional club, singing for some unknown reason a 1950's song and running around in quarters.

We are supposed to support them?

  4. JET wasn't awful. Some of the stuff he did didn't come off but he still set-up plenty of attacks and his goal was just genius. I would have him in the team every week just because he can do that.

Agree. From what I saw he had a perfectly adequate game, especially first half. Think he gets stick because his class allows him to actually do bugger all most of the time. All his contribution on the ball maintained our possession. He got behind the line a few times. Nothing outstanding but not shit.
  5. Totally concur with PF and DWC. To be fair, it was the same selling out at Swindle going back years.

Local sell outs + open end + City = piss poor atmosphere

Not having a go, (as I'm one for always joining in but not necessary initiating), just when gobby loud bastards do initiate a bit of chanting, it requires numbers to make up the bulk.

I also found when the bulk were game an it did go up, there were often three different chants competing with each other, there was limited cohesion.

It's why having one area for 'like minded' gobby bastards to home too is a must at Ashton Gate.

  6. I was sorry to see JB and Freeman go off when they did but understand the decision.

Thought it was a professional performance. There was no panic. Yeovil, I'm sorry to say really, were as poor as their league status suggests. It was only a matter of time before our quality got the break through. We then saw the game off, letting them have possession it seemed.

The atmosphere although good humoured, was quiet in the main. Whether it was due to the open end or the ease of the game, I don't know. Seems the majority of City fans are self-contained and content to be so these days.

We came, We saw, We conquered. The Reds are going up.

  7. Our biggest local derby of the season ! When you think of Yeovil, no disrespect intended, you then realise we are missing our on derbies like other major cities in the country. So, go yourself the question, would you almost give your right arm for a Bristol derby in the Premier League that has the same adrenalin rush that Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, North London, Sheffield and Tyneside enjoy almost every year? Just ask a Wednesday fan how much they miss the annual Blades encounter. I want Rovers to get promoted this season and I want a Bristol derby sometime in our lifetime, fanciful and controversial but i bet a lot of you out there will agree with me.

I certainly disagree with you. If R*vers earn the right to a league derby then so be it, it is always an immensely passionate affair.

They haven't achieved that for 14 years and in the intermittent years have proved to be nothing but a disgrace to the city of Bristol, in footballing terms.

If all goes to plan at some point we will develop bigger rivalries with bigger clubs and R*vers will be consigned to the memories of yesteryear forever. It's looking a distinct possibility.

  8. What respect have you shown there exactly?

I thought the post showed a lot of respect, even flattery.

Anyway, scraping a 1-0 home win, against a club a few positions higher in the league, with an 11:10 man handicap for 87 minutes is obviously 'kind of a big deal', as is reflected in them doubling their previous home attendance for the big match. And their on-pitch felching afterwards.

Only a heartless bastard would want to deny them their special day.

  9. Who says men never remember anything?

A man and wife were out Christmas shopping, as they arrive at the checkout she realises he's no where to be seen. In the end she decides to call his mobile to see what's going on.

"Well love, you know that jewellers we were in 6 years ago and that necklace you so wanted. How we couldn't afford it then but I promised that one day I would get it for you". The girl's eyes start to water as she wells up with emotion. "Well, I'm sat in the pub right next door to that".

  10. Has this Roman joke been done?

A Roman walks into a bar and says: "A Bacardus and coke, please landlord".

The landlord enquiries: "Don't you mean a Bacardi and coke?".

To which the Roman replies: "No, if I wanted a double I would have ordered one, wouldn't I?".

  11. Isn't it Subway's prerogative to put on the menu what they want?

I don't mind a Subway, on occasion, for convenience but thought it was a bit rich them having athletes endorse their produce as if it were healthy.

They use the cheapest ingredients they can and right up until recently used as many chemicals and other unsavoury manufacturing techniques as the other fast food chains.

No way would Jessica Ennis be using that shite in her diet.
