  1. Some cracking darts so far at the world matchplay in Blackpool. Van Gerwin, Price and Michael Smith all knocked out by Dolan, Cullen & Dobey respectively.

Wouldn't like me to pick the winner now. Gurney was impressive last night disposing of Anderson.

Wait until Neves new Saudi club loan him to Newcastle before the season starts.

As you are probably aware the Saudi PIF bought 4 Saudi clubs last month, they also, of course, own Newcastle.

There is no FFP or equivalent in Saudi, again well documented, you can see where this is going.

Eddie Howe has been constantly going on about FFP and how it limits what they can do in the market, strangely more vocal than most other EPL managers.

As far as I am aware, as things stand there is nothing FIFA or UEFA can do about it - Watford on a much bigger scale.

Yep this has been discussed, a two year loan to Newcastle was muted.

  3. Looking forward to seeing Cornick after a full pre season with us. He came to us in Jan having played very few minutes for Luton. You could tell he was struggling fitness wise 65 mins into most matches he started. I think he will be a big player for us this season. There I have said it.

Liverpool, once credited with an interest, are about the receive a windfall with selling Henderson and Fabinho. I know they have already signed two midfielders but I assume that was always their plan. Could the additional cash maybe tempt them into looking at Scott?

Also they have already lost Keita and Milner from their midfield. Also talk of Thiago leaving in this window as well.

    Few interesting things there:

    - I would imagine that anyone who is “top age” of that group is likely to be not involved with the first team and hence moved on. I’d therefore say Edwards and Idehen are available for permanent transfer - we knew the latter but not the former

    - Kadji in with this group and OTC not indicates the latter remains ahead and we should expect Kadji to go on loan

    - The lack of Joe Low having also not attended Austria leads me to think, absent injury, there is an imminent move away from the club for him. Possibly on trial somewhere

Going to Yate next Tuesday when the U23s play so will be interesting to see if the squad remains consistent

I will see them over Paulton on the following Saturday as well.
