  1. I'm sure he's probably, at least, quite good at that Jon. But as I think Gordon Strachan once pointed out, whether the players can or do carry out those instructions is a much wider issue. Whoever might be in the Manager's office at Ashton Gate, NP or otherwise, is currently quite limited in options, and will be until such time as significant changes (out as much as in) , can be engineered. At present, the only real option to make a significant change in the first eleven, would be to regularly involve more youngsters. But would that work??....
  2. I would add to my earlier post that I also think that now is the time for SL to take a step back from the "Bristol Sport" portfolio model and concentrate on the original plan/pledge to make Bristol City Football Club a top tier team. That's what he came to do, and it needs to be done. First and foremost. An equally successful rugby, basketball, cribbage, tiddlywinks team can duly follow if desired.
  3. Well there's a few on OTIB for sure Sludge!
  4. We stay up this season and hope that NP, between now and the end of the summer 2022, gets the opportunity to bring in a few new players AND offload a few. The latter may well mean letting some leave for nothing, in which case SL will need to take the financial loss incurred as a result of poor recruitment in recent years. I believe that this scenario would apply irrespective of any potential managerial changes in the interim. What we mustn't do, under any circumstances is get ourselves into a Reading/Derby situation. That would be disastrous. The mess we're in is more than enough to have to turn around. I'm happy to be corrected though, as I'm no financial expert.
  5. I'll stick thanks. It's a squad transplant we need, not new blood in the dugout (or the stand!!).
  6. Very very disappointed with this effort tonight. No excuses in a game that i was fully expecting SOMETHING from. What a weak squad of players we have.
  7. Bit unlucky to be behind at the break. Disappointing nonetheless. The game is there to be won though. COYR!!!!
  8. Well played once again JB, very entertaining. Let's hope our team performs accordingly tonight. I'm definitely looking for a smash and grab style win. 0-1 COYR!!
  9. A home win at last!!! Does nothing for the nerves though does it?... Well done Andi Weimann. More of the same please!
  10. I want to be stood outside his office when you drop by to deliver your version of justice Hampshire. Game of Thrones will look like Larry Grayson's Generation Game in comparison.
  11. It may well be me, but has anyone else noticed how, when you watch their "highlights", when they score, the sound of the crowd sounds unreasonably loud and/or enhanced in some way? It sounds very artificial to me.
  12. Something clearly needs to be done about the way that PP's work. I can understand the need to prevent any club from imploding as a result of being relegated from the Premier League, but surely the cloth needs to be cut accordingly as with anything else in life?.
  13. Neither I should imagine - unless you've got considerably more influence than I'm giving you credit for.
  14. Disappointing result but wholly expected today. Better second half for us, but too late to change anything. Finally, in case you're wondering, I'm still backing NP.
  15. Oh Mickey, what a pity, they don't understand.....
  16. Nicely written JB, you do an excellent job with these threads. I'm hoping for a point today (COYR!), but expecting a home win. As Red Alert says, we could be 19th by tomorrow. Wouldn't that be a realistic - though disappointing position for us to be in or around for much of the season though?.
  17. Would be a good result to get a point, but I honestly can't see anything other than a home win. I hope I'm as way off as I usually am.......
  18. Nice one Cyril! Bit harsh on Mr Lansdown though. Keep the faith!
  19. To be functioning as best as it can, in it's various forms, until NP can rebuild completely. He started, so lets hope the owner backs him appropriately. Otherwise, he's likely to walk, in my opinion. Which would be a sad reflection on the club.
  20. Now that was tough to take. Really tough. Nothing more to add at this point.
