  1. @Davefevs has been a little bit of a naughty boy with that one: Youtube Ballamory and watch cautiously between knitted fingers...
  2. It was nice to hear The Hives bigging up our ground. It drew a few boos but mostly cheers. My son was wearing a City shirt (classic Tinnion Anfield vintage) and had a number of people congratulating him. I also complimented a young fella wearing the old white and red Freight Rover v Mansfield shirt.
  3. We were trying to calculate the profit made last night. Based on the mark up on cider alone (or gin, or cocktails!), if 30,000 bought 2 drinks and we exceeded that, that's almost £2.50 mark up from match day. £140,000 in drinks alone. And then there's the ticket prices which averaged £80 maybe. That's £2.4 million into the pot to start with. A good percentage of that would have gone for the rental of the venue. A lot of pluses and minuses but I guess we maybe cleared nearly £500,000 profit?
  4. I guess it depends where on the pitch you were stood. It was perfect where we were (just in front of the sound booth) but was shit right at the back as we made our way to leave mid encore to get our train. No wonder every one was singing in the South Stand, it was make sure they got to hear the lyrics!
  5. I just bought a safe standing ticket....
  6. Can I have some mustard to go with my humble pie please?
  7. Ah, so I have miscalculated and under-thought it. More like an automatic Vespa than an old Lambretta so it would seem...
  8. Much like an old Lambretta, Norwich don't travel that well, at least not as far as the West Country from East Anglia. So, whereas the Brum and Coventry games were inflated by the away showing, Saturday might be shrink-flated by the Ayteo. That said, if you take the Ayteo out of the equation (4,000 capacity maybe), add the 450 they'll bring, we'll sell just about all of the other home tickets, allowing for a 27k capacity for football, maybe 23.5k Saturday? Have I over-thought this?
  9. I think that we can but Palace would only offer what we've already accepted: it would be churlish of us to ask for more now - I know we have previous with Palace but it's probably time we let it go. It's then about who offers Semenyo the better terms/package and completely out of our hands.
  10. Couple of things that shine out of that interview and the subsequent comments: 1) Barton was embarrassed by the domestic abuse allegation, not ashamed and he shaded over the crux of what happened. The fact that his wife was scared enough to ring the police should have made a man as "reflective" (as Barton claims to be) to consider the impact his actions had. But, due to his ego, he still cannot admit this. 2) the whole left wing/right wing argument. I guess that's a helpful narrative in todays climate (depending on your audience) but I remember Bulldog (NF paper) being openly sold outside the Tote End back in the early 80s. There's also the middle class embracing of football which has attracted a wide audience in North Bristol where the middle class demographic is bigger than in South. Fits the post -Brexit broad brush (lazy) explanation of modern politics ("working class people from South of the River voted leave, Bishopston voted remain. More chablis Jacintha?")
  11. I'm not sure that Gabby Logan is allowed in the same studio as Alan Shearer any more is she just in case they don't get any work done (if the rumours were true...) And the BBC has to satisfy FFP to keep the Daily Mail happy so it'll be Gary Owers
  12. My wife died back in March. My son, who is a Dr in Coventry, came home after a 12 hour shift at 10.30pm last night and so we decided to have today as our family get together. Been to every League game so far this season up until that point. Thanks for the insult.
  13. Wilko is (was) a legend in my eyes just for that guitar riff at the beginning of She Does it Right - I mean he was a brilliant man anyway. One of my top ten favourites for the last 30 odd years
  14. And now Arthur Fowler (Bill Treacher) has gone. RIP sir.
  15. Thank you one and one. Really appreciated!
  16. That you all for your kind words and generous offers. If you would like to donate, which would be very kind, you can below: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jonathan-russ5 The Twitch link didn't quite work out but people have still donated anyway. The picture was of Andrea doing Amy Winehouse at a 40th birthday. Captured her spirit perfectly! Bless you x
  17. Thanks for all of your interest and bids in regards to this. In the end, the shirt went for £400 and the goalie gloves for £150. We raised nearly £3,000 in total and it was a great day (if somewhat knackering...)
  18. £100 on the goalie gloves now from a very kind forum member
  19. We've only done it on Facebook so far Phantom and it'd take a bit of planning to set up another link due to privacy settings. Hence the bids via me bit.
  20. Mods, please delete or moved based on what you feel appropriate. My wife died of secondary breast cancer in March of this year. She spent the last 9 days of her life in a Hospice (St David's in Newport) and the care that she received was second to none. The Hospice also cared for me and our 3 boys at a time when our world was being blown apart. Because of the care they showed us, I have organised a Northern Soul/Motown/Ska/Mod all-dayer in Caldicot with all proceeds going to St David's Hospice. DJs are donating their time for free, we've had loads of lovely raffle prizes, we've produced merchandise, we were even given a signed Wales shirt which went for £1500 at auction. Tickets for our do sold out in 3 days. As part of the day, we have set up another auction and through the kindness of Mr Jon Gradwell of Portishead and the generosity of Mr Dan Bentley at Bristol City, we are auctioning 2 lovely items, a signed home shirt (current bids at £275) and some signed goalie gloves (current bid at £50). The auction finishes at 11pm tomorrow evening. If anyone would like to place a bid, please can you pm me directly as I am the auction master (although I won't be spouting the gobbledegook that auction masters spout). Any bid is greatly appreciated
  21. My cat brought in a dead robin the other week. Needless to say I was ******* angry with her. Like she gave a ****...
