  1. Probably not yet. the wind is going from South West to North East and they are travelling in the opposite direction. If my excellent physics and mathematics is anything to go by, when considering the wind speed (allowing for variations at different times) and comparing that to the number of MPH they will be driving/flying down at, they should be with us by next Thursday.
  2. We were in the next block if memory serves. There was a bloke near us who had on a pair of dungarees. On the impromptu display of norkage from our adjoining block, he decided to dispense with his dungarees and show all and sundry that he had gone commando that day. Why do I always end up in the wrong block?
  3. I was due to see him in Cardiff back in 2020 just as Covid hit so it was postponed (and not rearranged). Sadly, I am not planning any gigs for the time being (I don't go to the football either despite having a season ticket) as my wife's cancer is progressing otherwise I might have looked at either Bath or Swansea as options. Some things though are more important.
  4. I bet that his phone must be full of brilliant musical contacts!
  5. @Davefevs, I think that there may be a pretender to your crown...?
  6. King of America for me although Blood and Chocolate and This Year's Model run it close
  7. Good album. I highly recommend. That is all.
  8. Saw Van Morrison a few times in the late 80s/early 90s after being wowed by his performance at Glastonbury back in 1989. He is always tight but very grumpy in general and I've heard that he's a stickler for perfection a la James Brown (fines the band for any little mistake). But he has written some brilliant stuff in his day, Moondance, St Dominic's Preview and Avalon Sunset being 3 examples. Based on your review, I might give his newer stuff a go.
  9. Although I didn't know him, he was a guy you'd see at various games both home and away. RIP fella.
  10. Yeah, it's a weird one isn't it? This season seems to be a bit of a patchwork of broadcasters for the FA Cup with the BBC having some, ITV others and possibly BT Sport as well. @Never to the dark side, is this a new thing?
  11. BBC Wales have been showing Cardiff/Swansea and sometimes Newport live in the FA Cup for some time - I live in Wales and it seems to have been ever thus. I guess that it's because BBC Wales covers the whole nation/principality (delete as appropriate) and the rest of the BBC works on a regional basis. Bloody annoying mind...
  12. I won't be going despite this due to be my boys' birthday football day out which we do every year. Bought tickets for them and all. Some of you know my wife is ill: I cannot risk taking the virus home under those circumstances.
  13. Sorry to hear this; horrible disease. My thoughts and prayers go with him.
  14. I used to really look forward to these coming out every year! They were great - a simple concept but a brilliant free "gift" when you're 10. I also used to combine these with my game of Wembley that I loved just as much. Happy days!
  15. But doesn't Prince Charles run his Aston Martin on stable 65 year old port and cut offs of stilton cheese? Can a car actually get gout?

  17. But we have a high functioning rugby club with a world class coach under the same sporting umbrella. Funny that......
  18. I should do really. All that squawking plays havoc with my tinnitus.
  19. There's a very (ahem) vocal young woman who sits behind us in the South Stand who expresses her opinion constantly throughout the game. She has been known to shout "SCORE" at random points of the game - I'm glad she does because I don't think that the players thought about that. Anyway, every now and again, she shouts "GO ON CHRIS MARTIN, THE LEAD SINGER OF COLDPLAY". I'm confused as I'm sure Chris Martin is - why is she cheering on someone who isn't even in the ground? Thought you'd like to read that even though it doesn't say anything about him as a player...
  20. Sorry to read this @Mattredrobin. It sounds horrible and I hope that the pain is now under control. I understand how the uncertainty about what is going on is tortuous. Is there a District Nursing service you can approach locally about the bandages?
  21. What: both boring and shit?
  22. I think the Orchard is if you look closely (no picture though). My favourite pre-match boozer.
